  3. The way of the gloved pugilist is a simple one – footwork, guards, and punches. Lots of punches.

  5. Trappings: Restraining Gloves – Heavily padded gloves that reduce the impact of a punch. All punches deal only ¾ damage (rounded down) and can only render opponents unconscious rather than kill them.

  7. =Apprentice Level Abilities (0 SP to Adopt)

  9. Keep Your Gloves Up (1 SP)
  10. When not attacking, you remain at the ready to defend yourself.
  11. Passive: Add d6 to Blocking rolls against physical melee attacks while wearing Restraining Gloves

  13. Star Power (1 SP)
  14. You have tapped the place in your soul where fighting spirit can be unleashed.
  15. Passive: You have one Star Slot. Whenever you successfully dodge a nonbasic melee attack by five or more, you gain one Star. You can never have more Stars than you have Star Slots, and you lose a Star whenever you take more than a fifth of your total health in damage from a single hit.

  17. Star Punch (1 SP, Requires Star Power)
  18. You can unleash your Star Power in a single punch.
  19. Range: Melee Attack Roll: S Damage: S+S+lowK Requires: Wearing Restraining Gloves, Must have at least one Star Note: When this attack is used, one Star is lost regardless of whether or not the attack hits.

  21. Just Gimme A Minute To Rest Down Here (2 SP)
  22. You get knocked down, but you can get back up again.
  23. Passive: When you would be knocked out, roll C. After one turn, you get back up with health equal to your C roll. Every you get back up in this way without resting, remove the lowest die from the roll. When you have no dice to roll, you cannot use this ability.

  25. Join the M.A.M Fun Club! (2 SP, Can only be taken at character creation)
  26. You are joined by your trainer in your journeys, to offer advice and support.
  27. Passive: An NPC Trainer accompanies you at all times. They will treat you amiably though insist that you keep up your training and keep your eyes on the prize. They will not join you in battle, but they will watch from the sidelines and offer advice and support whenever they can. They will disapprove of using dirty tactics or fighting bareknuckle when it is not justified.

  31. Summon Gloves (1 SP, Requires at least 1 die in K)
  32. In preparation for a fight, you'll never be found without your trusty gloves.
  33. At Will: Your gloves appear instantly on your hands, laced and ready for combat.

  35. Bob and Weave (1 SP, Requires at least 2 dice in A)
  36. Your quick footwork and trained reactions mean nobody fights too fast for you!
  37. Passive: You always have the option of dodging any melee-range ability or attack that you are conscious of, regardless of the opponent's abilities.

  39. =Dragon Level Abilities (Unlocked at 10 SP Investment)

  41. Star Heart (1 SP, Requires Star Power)
  42. Your fighting spirit expands and increases.
  43. Passive: You gain a second Star Slot, and can gain a Star whenever you dodge a nonbasic attack by 3 or more.

  45. Star Block (1 SP, Requires Star Power)
  46. You can channel your star power into your gloves to prevent damage.
  47. Passive: Before rolling to Block, you may spend one Star to double its result.

  49. Sturdy Stance (2 SP, Requires Star Power)
  50. You aren't as shaken as you once were by harder blows.
  51. Passive: You only lose a Star when at least a quarter of your maximum health is removed by a single hit or when spent intentionally.

  53. =Master Level Abilities (Unlocked at 15 SP Investment)

  55. Star Retention (2 SP, Requires Sturdy Stance)
  56. You are able to keep a hold of Stars when you would otherwise lose them.
  57. Passive: You only lose a Star when reduced to 0 Health or when spent intentionally.

  59. =Grandmaster Level Abilities (Unlocked at 20 SP Investment)

  61. Star Soul (2 SP, Requires Star Heart)
  62. Your fighting spirit is as bold and powerful as many people's entire souls.
  63. Passive: You gain a third Star Slot, and can gain a Star whenever you dodge a nonbasic attack.

  65. Supernova (2 SP, Requires Star Punch)
  66. You aren't bound by physical constraints, and can unleash all of your Star Power at once!
  67. Passive: When declaring a Star Punch, you may spend as many Stars as are available to you. For every Star over the mandatory one that you spend, add S and the next lowest die in your K to the damage roll if you hit.
