- [Haiku, the Robot Any%]
- [Objective: Defeat The Virus.]
- [For use with SplitGuides, v3.0 Routing 16 May, 2022 by Quacksilver]
- [General Note: Your SP (money) only strictly matters at one point in the run. It's assumed that you'll carry some money with you, and you can easily break open any SP deposit along the way to gain some SP to heal with as you need, or farm enemies.]
- [This run heavily uses deathwarps, since quitouts don't save progress. Consequently, you don't get to heal at most save stations you pass by (SAVES will be explicitly called out). Wrench, while a pickup and so not required, is optimal anyway due to its use in movement tech throughout the run, so you have safety heals available to you.]
- [Power Cores Running Total in brackets]
- ###Electromagnet
- - Watch the opening cutscene! Time starts on Haiku's freedom from the wires and player control. Immediately die to the first enemy you see to deathwarp ahead to the first save point.
- - Skip to the first rusty key either with the Buffered Landing Jump (BLJ, see Clips below) or by abusing coyote frames out of a slide. Grab the healing wrench at the bottom of the room.
- - Head right and down to use the Rusty Key, then snake around left past the next save station.
- - Head to the top left of the mazelike room, and defeat the Trash Compactor boss to pick up Electromagnet.
- ###Pinion Save
- - Walk out from the EM pickup and die to the first enemy you encounter to warp back to the tutorial save point (this is automatically set, so saving there is not necessary). Head back up the chute and pick up Infinity Edge as you walk to the Bunker.
- - Move rightward, then down-right, until you reach the Mainframe Vault, and continue through the bottom-left exit.
- - Proceed through several lightbulb-infested rooms to reach Central Core.
- - Drop through the tall bulbsdrop room. Take the bottom right exit.
- - In the room before Car Battery, detour left to the station and SAVE. Intentionally die to hazards in the room below to stack hazard invincibility, allowing you to skip the trigger that spawns Car Battery.
- - Proceed past Car Battery and through the electric tunnel section into Pinion's Expanse.
- ###Morph Ball
- - Head up past the broken elevator, then right and circle back down and around to fix the clock. Exit the way you came and head up right.
- - Proceed through the vertical hallways and grab the free power core. [1] Flip the lever and then cross the lift at level 1 to enter the main area of Factory Facility.
- - Complete the lever "puzzle" double-back. Grab the free power core. [2]
- - Head right and up through the sawblade gauntlet and fight the Buzz Saw boss for Morph Ball.
- ###Bulblet Deathwarp
- - Deathwarp back to the Central Core. This is fastest to perform by using a well timed jump on entrance to stand up inside the morph tunnel (see Clips below). Head up and exchange your 2 power cores for 200 sp with Quatern.
- - Return to the top right of the room outside Quatern and morph ball through, flipping the lever, to access sealants. Buy the Fire Sealant, gaining control early by interacting in midair and corner boosting off the station that applies the sealant (see Clips below).
- - Head up after proceeding past sealants, and then immediately double back left through the morph ball chambers. Break the core at the end for the Bulblet. Deathwarp back to Central Core.
- ###Blink
- - Proceed left from the Car Battery station, crossing through the hot rooms to return to Abandoned Wastes. Pick up the Gyro-Accelerator (faster roll) chip at the back of the conveyor belt in the last hot room.
- - Proceed left/down in Abandoned Wastes until you reach the elevator. Descend to Sunken Wastes and exit right.
- - In the save point room in Sunken, equip Gyro-Accelerator WITHOUT SAVING.
- - Proceed down to the bottom of Sunken Wastes and left to enter the Ruins. Dodge the tiny shears and proceed around into the Research Lab.
- - Grab Blink and deathwarp out.
- ###Electron Deathwarp
- - From the deathwarp, proceed around to the bottom area of the room, then left and drop through the lasers to the bomb floor you can't break. (Thanks to stacking hazard respawn invincibility, you will be immune to lasers as you drop.) Blink to the right at the bottom to access bombs from the exit transition.
- - Head back out the transition you entered, that's now open. Bomb the two floors. Dip in+out of the incinerator room on your left for an instant heat refresh, then continue right. Bomb the final floor, and morph ball around to the Electron fight.
- - Creators are considered killed when the text box pops up, so you can deathwarp using the ceiling in the Electron fight as the virus is leaving its body. Too early and you won't get credit for the kill, too late and you will need to S+Q after the deathwarp to regain control. (See Clips below.)
- ###Mainframe Save
- - From Car Battery save, climb back up into bulbsdrop room. Halfway up on the right, detour to collect grapple.
- - Grapple back to bulbsdrop room and proceed to Mainframe Vault, the reverse of the way you came down here at the beginning of the run. (The bulbs will be aggressive now post-Bulbhive, so watch out!)
- - Enter the save room to the right of Mainframe and SAVE.
- ###Neutron
- - From Mainframe Vault, proceed up through a bomb floor and a laser cycle room into The Last Bunker. Climb up into the giant room.
- - In the large bunker room, you want to take the top left exit. This is where BLJs and morph ball jumps to gain height and preserve momentum are of tremendous aid.
- - Blink through a wall in the next room, then blink through the "unblinkable" lever gate to skip having to walk around the top of Bunker. (See Clips below.)
- - Slam dunking on the way to Neutron is the moral choice.
- - Bomb the final floor, circle around, and drop into the Neutron fight. (No deathwarp after.)
- ###Proton Deathwarp
- - From Neutron, return all the way right to the first obnoxious tall room in Bunker. This time, take the second exit from the top on the right side.
- - Grapple across the Surface, and head rightward in Factory Facility. With grapple, this can optimally be done with a single damage tank. After a few transitions in Factory, there is a large deposit of SP as a safety for heals for the last two fights.
- - Pass the lift, and proceed up/right into the Blazing Furnace.
- - Climb up/left in Furnace to the Proton fight. You never need to jump to hit Proton except for one phase 2 attack, staying grounded makes the fight much easier. Deathwarp after the fight to Mainframe.
- ###Any%
- - Grapple all the way across Mainframe Vault and exit/re-enter the room to skip the door opening cutscene.
- - Enter the final fight. Unlike the three Creators, Virus is vulnerable during inter-phase screams, so go absolutely aggro.
- - Time ends on the fade to black after final hit, before the cinematic plays. GG :)
