- Urssa Cave Temple
- - Talk to the bunny near the final save point to warp out (one-way only).
- Maybe farm some (more) money by fighting the Biochimera first, though?
- - First, if you're using Mirage or Cliff, go pick up the Raven Gauntlets
- and Infinity Kick at the Cave Temple (and Heaven's Blade if you're using
- Adray). If you're still missing the BTs for the bosses there, you can only
- get the gauntlets.
- × This is where I (tend to) boost the levels of IK and Kyou.
- - You'll probably want to restock on supplies. In case you forgot, you
- can use the thingie in Kirlsa Hills to get back to Gemity.
- - Don't forget about those Medicine Bottles if you want to fight Gabe
- without using an accessory slot for an Amulet of Freedom. Not that big
- a deal if you don't have them.
- - Most of the bosses in the post-game have no BTs, so I won't be mentioning
- that again.
- - Synth your old weapons into the new weapons you find (except for the
- Divine Avenger). If you didn't synth them earlier, you could now synth
- Rings of Animosity and Faerie Rings into the new weapons before you slap
- in the old ones.
- × In case you forgot, the Ring of Animosity is useful for Mirage, Nel,
- Fayt, Cliff, NTSC Peppita, PAL Albel, and possibly Maria, depending on
- how much action she's getting.
- - Again, the six factors I recommend are:
- Ring of Mental Power 2400 6% MP regen
- Blue Talisman 5900 30% chance to negate HP damage
- Red Talisman 5900 30% chance to negate MP damage
- Ring of Animosity 36 000 Fury use -3
- Faerie Ring (40%) 45 000 Battle skill HP use -40%
- Ring of Haste (20%) 90 000 Movement rate +20% -> 30%

- ATP bonus and waza HP consumption -40%. With three BoPs and a Tri-Emblem,
- most fighters will reach max ATP with their ultimate weapon (Nel will have
- about 9800, Maria 9400). Anyway, using a fully refined Beguiling Device

- - Since Fayt's second post-game weapon is obtained so late, I suggest

- 7800 at Lv255 (with a Tri-Emblem and a BoP). If you feel you need to max
- out on some special occasions, just pop in some Might Tablets. Might
- Tablets will get you to max if you have at least 7143 ATP. Don't forget:
- the Might Tablets remain in effect for the rest of the battle. You'll
- need to replace the BoP at times (most likely for status protection),

- - Lightning Feather: 2,0x HP, 0,1x MP, 10 hits, large area centering on
- the target. This will wipe out any characters within range fairly quickly
- unless blocked. He can use it from any distance. Indeed, if he uses it
- on a distant character, it will leave him very vulnerable, although this
- is not a very likely scenario.
- - True Judgment: LF is often followed by this one. However, the move
- doesn't work properly, as he always warps to the bottom of the battlefield
- to use it regardless of whether there's anyone even there. Indeed, most
- of the time, he'll just end up swinging at the air. Might be a good
- chance for you to attack.
- - Dragons (U): 2,0x HP, 0,1x MP, ~8 hits max, very large area. You can
- avoid this by standing in the lower right corner. There's a smaller safe
- zone on the left too, but you'll often get hit a few times there. Gabe
- is vulnerable at the beginning and end of the move (invincible during it).
- Try to lure or knock him in the lower right corner, so you can capitalize
- on these vulnerable periods.
- - All of his attacks have a chance of inflicting Paralysis.
- - Phase 1: Normal attacks only
- - Phase 2 (<70%): + Lightning Feather & True Judgment
- - Phase 3 (<50%): + Dragons
- - Gabe is insanely fucking hard, at least if you go in unprepared. If
- you want to save yourself from the headache, just use an RD weapon.
- - If you'd rather take him on fair and square, you should use pretty
- much the same approach as you did with Luther: One fighter provokes,
- while another fighter handles blocking. After blocking, you may want
- to go on the offensive with both fighters, although it is risky, and
- you could easily end up eating a LF (or possibly Dragons). You could
- consider bringing the support character close to the action to block
- LF. In this case, healing becomes a bit of an issue, since you can only
- safely cast spells during Dragons. At other times, you should go with
- items.
- - I've already said this multiple times, but one more time just in case:
- Use No Guard. It makes a big difference.
- - You could also use Convert Damage in phase 1, although it shouldn't
- take long for you to reach phase 2.
- - If not used for blocking, the support character should be in the
- left safe zone. If Gabe goes after your support, just keep moving until
- stealth kicks in. Try not to let the AI fighter chase after Gabe. If
- your support has Thunder Flare, feel free to throw that into the mix.
- His force resistance is pretty typical for a boss.
- - Use Medicine Bottles if you don't want to equip Amulets of Freedom.

- × Layouts 6 and 7 are quite similar, but the elevators are in completely
- different places. In 6, you need to go northwest in the second cross-

- - If an item isn't found in the areas you pass through on your way to
- the elevator, I'll indicate in brackets which way you need to go to find
- the item. Once again, Jewels and Synthesis Materials have been excluded
- from the item lists (although there is a full list of Synth Materials
- in the misc. file).
- - The money is indeed not that good here, so if that's what you need,
- you'll want to go somewhere else.
- - If you're running away from battles a lot, the best formation is the
- loose line, so your characters aren't so close to each other.
- - The bosses can be rather tough (at least without No Guard), but you
- can once again fall back on a defensive Homing setup if a more direct

- - If you want the Recover 77 777 HP BT, keep an eye on the figures in

- - Not only is Peppita's second post-game weapon obtained late (floor

- using fireworks), which is simply unacceptable. As such, you should
- customize a pair or Lunatic Shoes with the following factors (don't
- forget to use a cheap weapon as a carrier): Combined with a Tri-Emblem
- and a BoP, this gives her an ATP of 9150 at Lv255 (7700 without the BoP).
- Her DFP will only be around 1000, however, which is well below that of
- other fighters, who will be around 2000. Very unfortunate, but it's just

- Once you've cleaned it up, only one ATP +1000 should remain. You shouldn't
- duplicate it, as using fully refined BoPs (Boots of Prowess) is more
- effective and also gives you a DFP boost.
- - Check the ultimate weapon list in the misc. file to see how the junk
- factors with more than one outcome behave.
- - When refining BoPs, I give it 5 runs before I load the game.
- - The ultimate weapons have the highest base values, as you might expect,
- so you definitely want to use a carrier weapon when customizing them, ie.
- first synth everything on to a cheap weapon (starting with the cheapest
- factors) and then synth that on the ultimate weapon, Doing so saves at
- least 1 million per weapon.
- - Even so, you may still run out of money, meaning it's time to grind.
- I'd go with the Huge Chimeras at L6 of the MoT myself. You'll get 1 mil
- in 10 minutes. You can't use bonus with them, but they go down faster
- than the toads and flies on L7 (at least with MP damage). Another option
- is the Biochimera in the Spiral Tower. It's a bit of a hike, but you
- could easily keep Double Fol on. Losing it might be a problem, though.
- Lucky Star is no good there, so you'd have to use low level characters
- to bring your average level down (Biochimera is Lv74).
- - Get the money for the Tri-Emblems while you're at it if you didn't
- get those yet.
- - In any case, here's what I put on the weapons:

- Ring of Haste (20%) 90 000 Movement rate +20% -> 30%
- - No space for a Ring of Animosity, but you can just equip that.
- - The later you obtain an ultimate weapon, the less potential use you
- can get out of it. Indeed, the last ones arrive so late, it's not really
- worth going through the trouble of fixing them up unless you're still
- missing some of the super boss BTs.
- - Again, there's a list of all the synth kits in the misc. file. In the
- unlikely event that you end up using *all* the Synth Materials scattered
- about the worlds, you'll just have to farm them with Santa's Boots / Grab
- Bag or from the Shadow Savants in the Urssa Cave Temple. Santa's Boots
- give you maybe one in 10 minutes. The Grab Bag might give you as many as
- five in 10 minutes. With the Shadow Savants and with the bonus on, you can
- get two, maybe three, in 10 minutes. Without the bonus, getting a single
- kit could take 30 minutes. You can easily get the bonus going with Lucky

- - Phase 2 (<60%): + Death Howl & Eddy of Light, no spells
- - Blair is hardly anything to worry about until she enters phase 2 and
- starts spamming Eddy of Light and Death Howl for devastating MP damage
- (this is the one time I actually have to worry about MP damage). The
- other super bosses may be tough, but they also let you easily recover
- when there's only one character left. You have no such luxury with Blair,
- and it's all because of Eddy of Light. Eddy of Light is inescapable.
- It's simply too fast. (It's *technically* possible to sidestep it, but
- it requires not only precise timing but also precise positioning. You
- might've seen it in one of fxm508's old videos, if you were around back
- then. The videos are now gone, sadly.)
- - Once again, offense is the best defense. Try to maintain your juggles
- for as long as you can. If you've already maxed out your levels, that'll
- give you a significant advantage, as you'll be able to No Guard EoL more
- consistently. If your max HP just isn't high enough (50 000+), you'll
- have to rely entirely on your Blue Talismans.
- - Better have some refined Analeptics. You may find that coming back
- with just 30% MP isn't going to cut it. Another option is to use Roe
- Tablets or a Shielding Device, so the support character can draw the
- heat and safely heal at the same time (you can still use items).
- - One way to deal with the MP damage is, of course, by using Convert
- Damage - Preserve MP. Your damage output will go down, since the high
- damage will hinder No Guard, but at least you'll be able to heal both
- fighters at the same time.
- - If you're in control, try to sidestep at least one of the hits from
- Death Howl.
- - As a last resort, if you've boosted your DFP with BoP, you could turn

- - The 'Defeat super boss with x only' BTs require that you land at least

- - Nibelung Valesti (U): 4,0x HP, 0,3x MP, ~5 - 20 hits, huge area,
- The spear already does damage on contact before the actual blast. You
- take fewer hits the farther away from the center of the blast you are.
- If you're at full health and not too close, you can survive it. High HP
- characters at (roughly) full health might survive near the center if
- their Blue Talisman kicks in enough.
- - Phase 2 (<30%): + Nibelung Valesti, - Stone Rain.
- - Lenneth will quickly decimate you if you engage her haphazardly. Set
- all your characters on Manual and only attack her when you get a decent
- opening, ie. when she's casting a spell or after her normal blockable
- (no need to block it; just get behind her) or when you hit her with
- Thunder Flare. Use the good stuff: Infinity Kick, Mirror Slice, Air Raid,
- Kaboom, Hand of Doom, Raging Helmet, Max Shockwave, Triple Kick.
- - Many moves have trouble connecting due to her small size combined
- with her force resistance. Air Raid in particular is badly hit and might
- only give you two hits.
- - No Guard is nice, as always, but it's a bit less useful here due to
- the Fury damage she does with her regular blockable. In NTSC-versions,
- you'll need to drop NG for some characters (Fayt, Roger) in favor of
- faster cancel fodder, since you don't have skip cancel.
- - In Phase 2, it'll become more difficult to get an opening, as she
- starts using NV and isn't very likely to cast a spell anymore. At this
- point, you should just brute force it; just keep reviving your fighter(s)
- and keep trying to interrupt NV. Peppita, Roger and Nel should try to
- interrupt it right away, whereas others should try to knock her out of
- the air. Either that, or just hit her with Thunder Flare. Keep the action
- in a corner while one of your characters is in the opposite corner.
- - If you're using more than one character who can equip the Valkyrie
- Garb, you may want to mug one of those. It doesn't really make much of
- a difference, though, since there's hardly any content left. It also
- means one of your characters won't be able to fight her properly (again,
- you really should make a copy of your save file).
- - In any case, Loot Item works best with Nel's Fuujin (thanks to the
- attribute transfer bug). Set Loot Item to SR Confirm and Fuujin to SR
- Cancel. Stun her to get an opening, initiate Fuujin and hit her with a
- Confirm normal attack. If you manage to float her during a normal attack,
- you have about 3% chance of getting the drop. You can usually block her
- after an attempt, but you should still have a lot of stun bombs (100+).
- Using Thunder Flare works too. Forget about leveling up Loot Item. It's
- very slow and unnecessary. Either way, if you don't get one before she
- starts using NV, you should load the game and try again. If you happen
- to get one rather quickly, you could try and get another one (Loot Item
- works at most twice on a single enemy). You certainly want to try that
- if all your standard characters can equip it. Pulling it off could take
- hours, though, so you may want to settle for just one extra.
- × If you don't have Nel, you'll have to use Maria's Gravity Bullet.
- It doesn't work anywhere near as well, though (unless you float her
- with Homing first).
- - The Valkyrie Garb isn't much more powerful than the Dragon Leather,
- but the reason it's great is because it increases your HP and MP by 30%.
- Mirage, Nel, Maria and Peppita can equip it.
- - If you don't feel like dancing around with Lenneth, a simple and easy
- way to take care of her is to use stun bombs and follow it up with
- Sophia's (or Adray's) LR normal attack (or Energy Burst). If you have
- max ATP, Echo +2 and Increase MP Damage, you'll be doing about 21 000
- MP damage with each attack. She can't take that for long and she can't
- lay a finger on you. 40 stun bombs and she's done.
- - To get a max ATP weapon for Sophia, just customize a Laser Weapon
- with five ATP +500s, one BoA and a Berserker's Pendant.
- - Leveling up IMPD won't be necessary, as it makes little difference
- (Lv1 gives Sophia a 0,6x multiplier. At Lv10, it's just 0,7x. This
- would give you about 25k MP damage instead of 21k).
