<Bunton> Shall you set the scene, or shall I?
<Gara> I will.
<Bunton> YaY!
<Bunton> *y
<Gara> Tesselda, an elven wizard student, is reading over some old tomes in one of the School of Arcana's libraries. She is in the Conjuration wing.
<Bunton> She sees an elderly woman enter the Library, and begin browsing books a few shelves away.
<Bunton> She's no-one Tesselda recognises.
<Gara> This is her tenth year here, half way through her education. She is growing sympathies to other species.
*** Snoway is now known as Snowshoe
<Gara> "Excuse me?"
<Bunton> "Hm?" She turns her head.
<Gara> "Is there anything in particular you are looking for? I kinda know this wing inside out." She smiles.
<Bunton> "Oh, thank you, dearie. I was looking for the latest journals on... pyromancy, yes. For my daughter, you see."
<Gara> "Pyromancy... Most things that are pyromancy are Evocation."
<Gara> She closes her book. She consentrates on it and floats it over to a shelf.
<Gara> "Some of them are Alteration."
<Gara> "I'll show you."
<Gara> She stands up.
<Bunton> The woman follows, smiling.
<Bunton> "Why thank you. You simply don't get people as helpful as you these days."
<Gara> "Certainly not among my people..." Elves have been giving her the dirtiest of looks all day.
<Bunton> "Your people?"
<Gara> "Elves."
<Bunton> "Oh, I see. I thought you were just very tall."
<Bunton> "Always found it hard to tell the difference."
<Gara> Her features are /distictly/ elven. Her ears are long and pointed, and her eyes are a shade of purple. She giggles.
<Bunton> The old woman smiles.
<Bunton> She was already smiling, but she smiles wider.
<Bunton> "Is this the evocation wing here?"
<Gara> "Yes, but, well, we have a big library."
<Gara> You pass by a wing with every single book removed.
<Gara> Empty shelves.
<Bunton> "Will you help me search? I'm afraid this is only my second time..."
<Bunton> "Dear, that's an odd sort of room."
<Gara> It clearly once contained hundreds, if not thousands, of books.
<Gara> "It used to be the necromancy wing, but such things have fallen out of favor."
<Bunton> "What a shame."
<Gara> "Oh well, I give it only maybe 75 years before it's back."
<Bunton> "Why's that, may I ask?"
<Gara> Yes, she said only 75 years.
<Gara> "I'm not entirely sure, to be honest. I think it is because the Church dislikes it."
<Gara> "They don't like Arcane magic in general, I find."
<Bunton> "How silly."
<Bunton> "And how inconvenient for the people wanting to pursue that."
<Bunton> "I suppose they'd have to study elsewhere."
<Gara> "I'm sure they do, I just don't know where."
<Bunton> "Terribly, terribly inconvenient."
<Gara> "It really is."
<Bunton> "No, I was talking about the size of this place."
<Bunton> "My poor feet are killing me."
<Gara> "Would you like me to help?"
<Bunton> "What's that, dear?"
<Gara> "I have...." Tessela digs in pockets, before pulling out a scroll.
<Gara> "This."
<Bunton> The woman examines the scroll.
<Gara> It is a scroll with scrolling, clearly magic, script.
<Bunton> "What's that?"
<Gara> "This is a scroll of fly. I won it in class."
<Bunton> The woman smiles.
<Bunton> "Well, why not?"
<Bunton> "Be good to take the weight off my poor soles."

<Bunton> "If you would."
<Gara> Tesselda reads the scroll, casting it from there. As she does so, a small fire starts in one corner. She touches the woman, discharging the spell.
<Gara> The woman suddenly is able to fly in any direction, at up to 60 feet per move action. She feels the weight from her body lift.
<Bunton> "Ah, that's better."
<Gara> The scroll continues burning. Tesselda lets go, catches it with Mage Hand, and carries it a few feet from them like that.
<Gara> "You mentioned a daughter?"
<Bunton> The women hovers onward.
<Gara> They get to the Evocation wing.
<Gara> This wing has quite a bit more students.
<Gara> Some of which are human
<Bunton> "Hm? Oh, yes. Several, actually. One of the younger ones' twelth birthday's almost coming up, though I'd get her something."
<Gara> "She has a talent, then?"
<Bunton> "You could say that."
<Bunton> "All my children do, really."
<Bunton> "But she's... a little different."
<Gara> "Differnet-" There is a panicked cry from back behind.
<Bunton> The woman looks around.
<Gara> The students suddenly look anxious. A elven woman, clearly much older, appears. "Remain calm."
<Gara> Tesselda looks worried.
<Bunton> The woman's face is drawn.
<Gara> You hear boots and see men with swords rush through the hall.
<Gara> "Oh dear."
<Bunton> "What seems to be happening?"
<Gara> "I don't know."
<Bunton> (Are there torches on the walls anywhere nearby?)
<Gara> There is a pained shriek. Several of the students huddle up.
<Gara> Yes.
<Bunton> The woman looks around at the scene.
<Bunton> "I hope nobody's hurt..."
<Gara> "So do I..."
<Gara> "Oh I know what I'll do."
<Gara> A raven flys into through the hall.
<Bunton> "What's that?"
<Gara> It flies back into the room. The woman at the doorway looks at it. Tesselda begins speaking some strange tongue, and the Raven replies.
