Valentine's Day with Monika

I slowly opened my eyes...I stared at ceiling for a few seconds and realized.

"Fuck! I fell asleep!"

I rapidly turned around, grabbed my phone...it was already 5 minutes passed curfew. I jumped out of the bed, took out some clothes and started to get ready.

*Pant* *Pant*

As I made my way through town towards the designated location for our date I could feel my weak muscles giving in to the fatigue, but since it was such an important day I couldn't allow myself to disappoint her even though I was already late.
Finally after I got passed the last corner I spotted the cafe where we were supposed to meet. Slowing, walking through the crowd I turned my head left and right hoping find her.
Not after a long while I noticed something in my peripheral view. I shift my gaze...just to see her standing there alone. It was Monika. As I got closer my chest seemed to be getting heavier, and looking closer she seemed out of place - it was like some sort of radiating aura was surrounding her, making her stand out. Her delicate arms were holding head as her gentle yet melancholic gaze wondered in the distance.
I finally arrived.

"Sorry, I'm so sorry I'm late"

Suddenly, as if she was waking up from a trance, her eyes started brimming with light.

"Ah you're finally here, *giggle* *giggle*, you sure kept me waiting. You certainly took your time...*pout*"

"I'm sorry. I oversle-"

"It's OK. No need to apologize Anon-kun. When it comes to you I can wait for an eternity."

"Ah..."

*Gulp*

Hearing her response made me lose lose my words. I felt  my chest tighten increasingly as if I was suffocating.

"But don't make wait for so long next time, OK~?

"Y-yes"

After taking a deep breath I slowly started to calm down. As I sat I turn to face Monika, our eyes met for a second, and then I quickly looked away. Even though we've been going out for some time now, I still felt nervous around her. She realized this and to get passed the awkward moment she made a twisted smile and asked:

*Giggle* *Giggle*

"So, Anon-kun, do you remember what day is today?"

Of course! How can I forget.

After she listened to my words, she paused for a bit, and after she slightly bent her head downwards, she revealed a chocolate case.

"Here! I made these for you."

My eyes widened in surprise. Even though it was Valentine's Day and I was expecting this, it still took me by surprise. But more importantly, the way she acted, I can't remember seeing her embarrassed. So being blessed with this unique reaction coming from her it left me dumbstruck.

"Thanks"

I said in a weak tone as I stretched my arm to take take the chocolate. Afterwards, her mood returned to normal and asked me with a smile on her face:

"I hope you'll like them. So how was your day?"

"You know...the usual...nothing exciting."

As the atmosphere around us seemed to light up I started feeling more comfortable and as I do, I finally noticed Monika's dress. My face's complexion immediately started reddening up as I can felt my nonexistent sweat dripping down my cheek.

"So what do you think of my dress Anon-kun?"

As if jolted back in reality by her words I became startled and suddenly raised my head. She probably noticed me staring so that's why she asked.

"I-I think it looks beautiful"

*Giggle* *Giggle"

"You... think?" She said gently while narrowing her gave.

Seeing me flustered she completely takes advantage of me, teasing me in a kind manner as she always does.

"Y-yes, it looks great on you"

"I'm glad you like it. I picked it especially for you. So what are you going to order?"

From here on the date seemed to have finally started. Nothing major happened, we ordered the food, ate and kept on talking.

At some point it felt like a strange presence appeared, like we were being watched. Monika seemed to have noticed it as well, but she made nothing of it. Seeing that I figured it was probably nothing major so I went by ignoring it as well.

....

"Ah~ that sure was a great lunch" Monika said while shifting her gaze on me.

"Yes that sure hit the spot"

"But, I feel like something is missing..." She replied

I raised my eyebrows in confusion, unsure what she meant by her last statement. The moment I did she seemed a bit annoyed and looked down on the table. I followed her, facing down to spot the chocolate box.

"Are you up for some desert? What do you think?"

"Is it OK if I open it here?"

"Sure...*Giggle* I'd be happy if you did."

Seeing her bright smile made my heart skip a beat. I slowly picked up the chocolate box and opened it. After taking off the lid I felt a strong aroma enveloping me, the scent was steadily beginning to course through my body, making my mouth overflow with saliva, and my being was enwrapped in an odd feeling of lust.

*Gulp*

As I lowered my hand to grab a piece of chocolate I was interrupted by a sudden noise. My body quickly reacted, and to my surprise I saw Monika standing up from her seat. The second she started walking gently towards me, I felt like time was stopping. At this point I was confused and had no idea what was going on, and as I opened my mouth to speak, her voice swiftly interrupted me:

"Mind if I sit down"

For a split second I paused, unable to understand what she meant by that. However as soon as it hit me I became petrified, I didn't knew how to respond. I felt my heart racing in my chest so fast making my whole body tremble. I shyly nodded, allowing her to sit.

*Giggle* *Giggle*

She gave me the most radiant smile I have ever seen, and after making a graceful twirl, she stopped and mildly sat down on my lap.
At this point it felt like my body won't even listen to me anymore. I rose my head to look her, and while looking each other in the eye I felt my heart beat slowly calming down, her gaze was so tender like never before and her rosy cheeks were more prominent than I've seen them.

"No need to be afraid Anon-kun..."

Suddenly, the mesmerising atmosphere was abruptly disrupted by a loud, high pinched shriek.

We rapidly turned our eyesights towards the bushes from where the noise seemed to have come from. I heard some rustling which stoped shortly after but saw nothing out the ordinary. However Monika looked very calm, yet a bit annoyed as if she understood the event that just occured. After making a taunting grin she resumed to look back towards my direction.

"Sorry about that, but no need to worry about those peasants...*giggle* Now where were we~"

"Peasants? What do you mea-"

'What do you mean?' was what I wanted to ask, but once again we were face to face and I gave in to the pressure and couldn't finnish my question. We stood there for what felt like hours, when she finally broke the silence and asked me:

"So do yu say, Anon-kun, do you want to try my chocolate?"

"Yes" I replied instantaneously as if it was a built-in reflex

She smiled happily, picked up a piece of chocolate, and gently moved it towards my mouth. At this point my tiny existence was feeling overwhelmed, not only was I feeling the weight and warmth of her beautiful slender body and was welcomed by her angelic smile, but she was also attempting to nourish me. She was in complete control of the situation and even though my body was being crushed by a big load of stress it somehow felt warm and soothing too.
As if having a complete comprehenson of the way my body was reacting she gave me a sweet reply while also tenderly touching my cheek:

"No need to be so tense, I won't bite"

"Sorry, I just..."

Narrowing her eyes she spoke:

"It's OK. Now open wide!"

I slowly opened my mouth and felt the chocolate entering. As I chewed I felt my taste buds being brought to life by the exquisite and passionate taste of the chocolate. Its sweet taste was conquering every single inch of every cell in my body. It was like a part of Monika herself had infiltrated my body and I was now powerless and had fallen under her spell.
Looking a bit perplex, Monika asked my in a worried voice:

"Well...d-did you like it"

As if I was in a trance my mouth moved without even thinking and spilled out the first words that came to mind:

"You are amazing"

"Eh-" Monika widened her eyes at my unexpected answer.

"I love you Monika"

Suddenly Monika's face turned red as apple and swifty adverted her gaze. After seeing her reaction I realised what I just said and I also shifted my head towards the other direction. I mean that was the truth. I loved Monika with every fiber of my being, however being the shy individual I was, I could have never said those words headstrong. But somehow in that state my body mustered the strength to speak up my deepest thoughts. Those words were from the heart.

"Me too" She said in a low voice.

Surprised at what I was hearing I turned to face her when to my amazement I saw Monika looking directly at me with tears of happiness in her eyes and smiling at the same time.

"I love you too, Anon-kun!"

My body was in compete chaos. it would be pointless trying to explain what I felt after hearing her say those words.

Suddenly, she closed her eyes and I could feel our bodies coming closer to each other. Even though I was dense I knew what was about to happen. We were abut to share our first kiss. The spark that lights up a relationship, the pillar on which everything is built on. Even though I was inexperienced and afraid to take this step I was at a point of no return. People often say a kiss is a double-edged sword that either starts or breaks a couple. However this was a gamble I had no choice but to take.

As I lowered my lips I wished and prayed that that everything would go right.

A moment of silence. Our lips intertwined.

If I find one suitable word to express what I felt that time it would be-explosion. An explosion of feelings were wildly unleashed inside of me just like earlier when I ate the chocolate, but tenfold, my body was heating up as if burning more fiercely than a volcano and my heart's beat rate was long before unmeasurable.

At this point even the bushes behind us were shaking and screaming but in these moments the world around us was as if it had never existed. It felt like the both of us were stranded in a solitary universe, where so soul or gaze could ever reach.
After what felt like an eternity, yet microseconds at the same time,our lips separated, and our gazes finally reconnected. We both had feverish complexions and steam coming out of our mouths.
Monika broke the ice and spoke first:

"Shall we resume indoors..."

And so we went home together, her head leaning on my shoulder all the way, and we had the night of our lives.
