A wedding vow is a promise. A very important promise.
I can't promise you that life will never be hard,
Or that clouds will never be over our heads.
I can't promise you that you'll always laugh and never cry.
And I can't promise you your dreams will come true.

But, from this day forward, I can promise you these things.
I promise to laugh with you in times of joy, and comfort you in times of sorrow.
I promise to share in your dreams and support you as you strive to achieve your goals.
I promise to listen to you with compassion and understanding, and speak to you with encouragement
I promise to help you when you need it, and step aside when you don't.
I promise to remain faithful to you, for better or worse, in times of sickness and in health.
You are my best friend and I promise to love and respect you always.

I promise you these things this day, in front of everyone here, and most importantly, in the presence of God.
