	As members of society, we must all be aware that choices we make in the present, whether intentionally or inadvertently, shape our individual and collective future. Because of this, we have to be careful to make sure we make responsible decisions regarding our goals and ideas to make sure we head down the right path in life. I, in attempt to better myself for the future, have established simple goals of completing my education on time, staying in line with the law and keeping myself clean of drugs, and raising a well established family. By preparing my goals now, I ensure greater success at being a progressive member of society, and creating a better life for myself.
	Education is one of the key points to becoming a successful member of society. Without being provided this near-essential aspect of life, no progress would be made, and jobs would be extremely hard. However, many people still face hardships and drop out, or struggle to graduate on time. My family is one general example of people who have had problems being successful on their education. Whether it was their lack of motivation, or use of illicit drugs, my family has had repeated issues with schooling. Because of this, I've dedicated myself to not being one of those people, and focusing on my own education. I refuse to let lack of motivation, or drugs, come in between myself and my knowledge.
	The aforementioned drugs have already made an impact in my life. I've fallen under the influence in my past, and as of now I stand two months sober. One of my biggest goals is to stay clean and keep my life away from things like drugs. I know firsthand the impacts of drugs on life, education, and family. My father in particular fell to drugs, and has set an example to me. I don't ever want to end up like him, so I've set this goal in order to stay sober and to focus on the people I love.
	This leads me to my last, and possibly biggest goal. My father was never really there for me, and I refuse to let myself be the same person. I want to settle down and establish a stable family. This goal can also be extended to the fact that I want to find a well paying job using my education so I can support my family and be there for them through anything that life throws at us. The above goals tie into this one, and ultimately bringing me to a happier life.
	These three goals, when applied and achieved, will bring me to become a productive member of society and provide happiness to my family and me. I'm very determined to establish a happy family through my educational success and sober lifestyle. As I stated before, we must all be aware that our decisions now decide our future, so we must prepare our lives for success today.
