Red Meteor Quest Part 10

Another day, Another day of you and your friends all crowded around Sadie's TV,watching some random show. You had all returned to Sadie's house and filled Tim in on what you had discovered. According to Sally, Owner of Crescent Inc, Harold Koffman was the one responsible for the monster attacks and robots that had come after you all. Tim was surprised upon hearing this, but he didn't seem mad at all, in fact, he seemed...excited? You were confused at first, but it made sense now that you thought about it, he probably saw this as exactly like an episode of Hyper Hero Force.

"So..." Saya said loudly, breaking your train of thought "We really working with this lady?"

"I don't see why not...she seemed okay?" Jane muttered

"She attacked us with a robot!"

"True, but what she said makes sense." Sadie said sighing "The police probably couldn't find anything because Harold Koffman made it that way?"

"What so you mean, he intentionally hid it?" Saya replied with an eyebrow raised

"Just like episode 93 of Hyper Hero Force!" Tim said with a puffed up chest. "I think this Sally lady is on the up and up, and besides she'll give you guys upgrades and stuff. Sounds like a win-win to me!"

"I wonder what she'll have for us..." Jane thought "Oh, maybe I can get like a giant chaingun or something!"

"I doubt that..." Sadie deadpanned

You are Red Meteor...and things are becoming complicated.

"Well for now, there's no use worrying about such things. Saya, feel like going on patrol?" You ask

"Eh, sure. Not much to do on a Sunday anyway."  she says standing up, "Sadie, keep Jane out of trouble, and guard your chest, she's really grabby."

"G-grabby?!" Sadie said covering herself on instinct.

"Well, Sadie could use the help, she's not really got much to show." Jane chuckled

"E-excuse me!?"

"Oh don't worry, I'll give you a full treatment!" Jane said disappearing before reappearing behind Sadie and groping her (small) chest.

"Eeek!"

"Wow you you're nearly an ironing board!" Jane then met the floor with her face as you and Saya began to leave.

"You two play nice now! Crimson Eclipse, Realize!"

With both of you in armor, you and Crimson Eclipse headed for downtown, there was always something going on there regardless of it were night or day.

"You know, if we go to talk to that Sally girl again, we really need to have her install some sort of police radio, it'd definitely beat just running around at random don't you think?"

"Maybe,Though she probably wouldn't want us bothering her." You reply

"Yeah she does seem like one of those annoying brainy types. Oh look, couple of cops car at 9 o clock. Should we follow?

"Nah, they've got it under control." You say

"Really? Well alright then, You're the boss." Saya replies, "Let's head over this way next!" she exclaims heading to the east. Well, it's not like you've got a problem with that. You follow after her, casually leaping from building to building. Somewhere along the way it sort of turned into a race between the two of you to see who could outdo the other.

Sadly, you were both evenly matched.

You were atop what looked like an abandoned factory. A lot of the homes here seemed a lot more old and generally lacked upkeep with broken windows and the like. Looking down at the street below you saw at least a dozen men on each side, each brandishing pipes,2x4s,bats, whatever weapon you could name probably was being held by them

"Huh, a gang war." Saya mutters

"So it seems, we should probably do something, the gunshots could probably end up hurting someone innocent.

"True...but that's a lot of guys for just the two of us."

"Hey Crimson, make a wall to divide them will you?"

"Huh? Sure I think I can do that."

She points her palm at the ground right in the middle of where the confrontation is about to start, a wall of earth rises up splitting the group apart, the men all look around confused, and when they see you, they begin to scatter as you start throwing  fireballs down at them. You aren't intending to hit anyone, but just to make them disperse, which seems to be working.

"Should we go after em?" Crimson asks

"No point. That should scare them away for now."

"And here I was hoping for an actual fight. Oh well."

The two of you move on again, making sure to keep your eye out for any crimes going on. Thankfully, things are pretty quiet, and so you both touch down on one of the streets.

"Hey Red, how about we grab some lunch?"

You rub your stomach, and suddenly you feel hungry "Well, I did skip breakfast today." you say

"That's not good, you shouldn't skip out on breakfast, most important meal and all that."  Crimson says wagging her finger "Come on, burgers on me!" she chuckles leading you inside where you see a line already formed, it's thankfully not too long though, so you shouldn't be in here too long.

A lot of people turn and stare at you and Crimson, giving you cheers and thumbs up. Some are starstruck, unable to really speak or say anything at the presence of you both. Except for one person who runs up to you from the side.

"Oh Mr.Meteor! It's good to see you again!"

"Oh! It's Ms.Sanja!" You reply waving at her "How goes it?"

"It goes well!"

"Oooooh, this a friend of yours Red?" Crimson asks

"Oh, and Crimson Eclipse as well! You know, I've not seen you or Blue Comet stop by, you should come help out you know!"

"Yes, she helps out at the shelter from time to time. She's quite the nice lady." You say, which causes Sanja to blush

"Oh stop, you're such a flatterer." Sanja laughs

"Shelter...shelter...Oh you're the bottle woman!" Crimson laughs

"B-botttle woman?!"

"Yeah, Orange Sun told me, you took a beer glass and cracked a thug right on the head,knocking him out cold. That made me laugh."

"It was just a lucky hit...!" Sanja sighed

"Still funny though!"

The three of you eventually get food, all of you sitting down together, though you and Crimson couldn't eat for obvious reasons, so you just both made small talk with Sanja. It was fun talking to her, and interesting that she worked for Koffman Labs...you were thinking on digging for more info when a roar and  numerous screams came from outside.

You and Crimson step out to see at least 5 of those weird rock monsters. The same that appeared at the bank.

"Oh crap..." Crimson mutters

"Looks like Sally was right. He must be getting desperate after all."

You send a distress call out for Jane and Sadie to meet up with you. but until then, you're on your own. You pull out your saber, and Crimson follows suit, taking out her taiko drums, yelling for everyone in the store to keep their heads down.

You move into the street, preparing to engage them.

The beasts aren't wasting any time and they roll at you. You manage to punch one hard enough to knock it back into another one. It's almost like watching bowling pins collapse, but this is short lived as you turn to see Crimson get knocked around by the enemy rather badly.

"This! OW! Really! OW! Sucks!" OWWWWWWW!" Crimson cried in between her words, eventually she manages to leap away from the circle, gasping for breath from being hit so bad.

"Oh uh, yeah, these guys hit really hard!" You call to her

"Really!? I didn't notice!" She snarks back

"Right...sorry."

You've got these things mostly under control right now.

You continue keeping up with your pace. You know fire won't really hurt these things, so you don't bother igniting your saber. Instead, you  punch as much power behind your slashes as you can, while grabbing one of the other enemies with your free hand and throwing one at one of the enemies who had been giving Saya some trouble.

It flies into it, knocking the two of them into a car. Unfortunately, this wasn't enough to help Saya out too much as she got hit by another one of the monsters rolling tackles, knocking her against the wall, the monster rolls up again delivering another hit to her, Saya groaning as she gets smacked as it happens, the monster goes for a third, before out out nowhere the thing is smashed by a car ramming into it.

"Let's see how you like it!"

That's Sanja's voice!

She rams into the thing again and again, her car becoming increasingly more wrecked as she does so. It seems to be working...until the monster roars and manages to grab the car (with its extremely small arms which is a surprise) and tossing it half-way across the street. It lands bottom up, but thankfully doesn't seem to explode

"S-Sanja!" You yell, Crimson returns to your side

"God, they really hurt!" she shouts

"This isn't looking good..." You mutter

A couple of the monsters once again go for their rolling attack, while a few others dig underneath the ground. That's not good. The ones that roll at you, you manage to stop by punching them as hard as you can again. You actually see some of it's stone body fall off at how hard you hit. The one behind it you kick as hard as you can, before grabbing its stubby hand and slamming it on the ground. You end it by driving your saber into its eye, igniting it in flames. That definitely seems to have done it, at the monster writhes in agony, before ceasing all movement.

As for Saya, she doesn't get caught off guard by the monster's digging. She calmly waits, before yelling out in rage, smashing one of them with her taiko sticks, it crashing into a building, she dodges the second, while smacking the third one down the street like it was a baseball.

"Sorry we're late!" Blue Comet called as she and Orange sun arrived. "How many we got left?"

"About four! Careful, they hit like trucks!" Crimson said clutching her side

"They shouldn't be a problem for me and Orange Sun. Now let's finish this up!"

A part of you wants to get to Sanja, but with these things around, you can't risk it,so you instead focus on the enemy. The monsters closest to you and Saya, dig underground, trying to go for that tactic again. It's met with the same result though, Namely you clobbering one with your fist, and Saya leaping into air as the other comes up, slamming into its head. The monster can't do anything as it plunges towards the earth. The result is a shock wave that reverberates throughout the area and  Saya smashing on its head until it's nothing but a paste. Quite gruesome really.

Unfortunately,Sadie and Jane aren't as lucky. The monsters they were against rolled up, and they managed to dodge both Sadie's water blasts and Jane's ghost bit, the two can't react in time as they both get hit, being knocked back and then rammed into from opposite sides. The end result is the monsters rolling Sadie and Jane into each other and the two grinding against each other as their armors spark.

That's not a good sign...

You and Saya see your friends in trouble, their screams of agony, are painful and so the two of you rush over. As you get closer, the two of you nod in unison, you know what to do. As you approach the monsters you both grab onto their spinning bodies, sparks erupting from your suits as well as you begin to slow them down. The monsters try in vain to continue spinning but eventually, you both stop them completely and toss them up in the air.

Not missing a beat, Blue Comet follows up, trapping the monsters in water, leaving them helpless.  Orange Sun takes the chance, calling for her bit to eat the monsters whole, which it happily does. With this, the fight is over, but the street is trashed, over turned cars, smashed cars and pot holes all over.

"God that was painful..." Orange Sun whines

"That's for sure..." Blue Comet groans

"I never want to fight those again." Crimson Eclipse muttered

You don't bother to engage in the usual banter with your friends. You instead opt to head for the overturned car that Sanja is in. "I told you they hit hard!" You yell back to your friends. They follow after you, and as you're approaching the car you see your right wrist glow black, before a small dark light shoots out to the car.

You stop just a bit short...that couldn't be...could it? However the message pops up on your HUD "Black Asteroid,realized,lock for Black Asteroid released."

you rush over and grip the car door, ripping it off with your strength...sure enough, what you see isn't Sanja, but instead is anothe warrior clad in black armor, your friends arrive and all see it too.

"Uh...Red?" Jane asks

"I see it too." you reply

"So um...she's one of us?" Sadie asks

"Looks that way." you say

"So...should we get her out of here then...or just leave her here?" Saya deadpans "I'm more for the get her out of here, she's definitely unconscious."

You nod, picking Sanja up, you and your friends take her to Sadie's house. The girls power down, as she begins to stir finally

"Ugh...my head...what happened? Wait...what is this?!" She shouts from behind her helmet "Wha am I wearing?! Wait, Mrs.Meteor?!"

"I'm NOT Mrs.Meteor!" Sadie shouts

"Go ahead, let it all out." You say to Sanja who proceeds to yell,scream, and say several expletives that make you have to cover Tim's ears.

"Are you done...?" Saya deadpans

"Yeah...yeah I think I'm done-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" She screams "Okay...okay now I think I'm done."

"Right, then allow me to explain." Sadie speaks up, the next several minutes are basically the group going over the entire ordeal that's been happening. Red showing up, Sadie becoming Blue Comet, the monsters and where you all suspect they're coming from.

"Really...? You think Koffman Labs is too blame?" Sanja mutters

"It looks that way, what Sally told us adds up, you work there right? Have you see anything weird?"

"Nothing at all, the police checked,but nothing."

"Well duh, he's got a secret lab underground!" Tim piped up, to which Sanja turned to him with an annoyed look

"You know, I'm pretty sure your mother wouldn't approve of you hanging around with a bunch of crime fighters like this."

"And I'll have you know that I'm the crime fighter master, I'm teaching everyone here everything they know."

"I somehow doubt that." Sanja said looking at everyone else

"Uh...no, it's pretty on the nose there." Jane chuckles "Tim is actually pretty smart on this whole super hero business."

"So...what you're saying is I have to listen to a ten year old?"

"Pretty much." Saya sighs

"Okay well...how do I get this armor off?"

"Just say power down."

"Right...okay. Power down!"

Sanja returned to her normal state, her outfit a bit dirty "Huh...I feel different...stronger."

"Yeah that happens." Sadie said "be careful, you're pretty strong now, oh and you probably have some weird power.

"Power...?"

"Right, it's like this." You say lifting the couch with her on it with one hand, which causes a yelp of surprise. You then shoot a fireball into the sink with the other.

"Ack! Hey!" Sadie yells putting it out with some water "Stop doing that!"

"I was just demonstrating." You say setting the couch down

"So...I can do something like shooting fire out of my hands or making water?"

"Yeah, give it a try." Saya says moving out of the way

"Okay...lets see..." Sanja mutters holding a hand out. Nothing happens at first, but her shadow begins to act strangely...morphing and moving until what sits before her is a rather monstrous looking claw.

"Oh...huh..." Saya says

"Well...that's different."

"I...don't know what to say about this." Sanja mutters taking a step forward, only to fall into the shadow!

"Okay, this is weird!" she yelps crawling out

"Huh,shadow powers." Tim mutters looking at her

"Shadow powers...what?"

"You've got shadow powers. You can control shadows...try something else!"

"Um...okay."

Sanja points her hand at the window a small ball of darkness shooting forward...and destroying it.

"My window!" She shouts

"Uh...sorry!" She mutters meekly

"It's fine, I'll get that fixed later." She sighed

"So shadow powers...probably good at night time for sure." Tim said rubbing his chin

"Oh oh! Jane pipes up "Red, Power Down!"

"Go on Red, maybe your armor comes off entirely now." Saya said

"Do I really have to?" you ask sighing, you really didn't want them pinning you down and rubbing all over you again, even it did heal you, it made you feel weird...hotter...hotter than normal.

"Yes." Jane said, a hungry look in her eyes "Do it now."

"Okay I guess...I got a bad feeling about this though."

You sigh one more time "Power Down!" you call, your armor leaves you, this time, leaving just about your entire body uncovered save for your feet, which were still armored. However, the problem here is that otherwise you were completely naked.

"Dude, put some clothes on!" Tim yells shielding his eyes.

"Oh...oh my." Sadie mutters looking at you...or a certain part of you. "That's...um...that's quite...something." She's completely red

"Subete no amerikahito wa son'na... ?" Saya said in Japanese while reddening herself

"Not bad..." Jane says looking at you, "I bet that'd feel great..."

As for Sanja..."Now everyone..." She started, grabbing Tim and shooing him into the side room

"I think..." She mutters pushing Sadie along too

"We should give Red here..." She moved Saya away now

"Some time to..." Jane was pushed away

"SOME ALONE TIME!" She leaps at you like a deranged fan girl, as the other girls all rush in after

"Get off him!"

"S-stop it!"

"He's mine! ALL MINE!"

"You people are weird." You heard Tim state

Harold Koffman watched the news from his office. This Red Meteor and his allies, they'd all been a thorn in his side. How could he show the future in his machines if they kept getting in the way. No matter what he threw at them, it didn't phase them! Not the monsters, not his latest robots, Not even some of his greatest power armor. It was then that he knew what he had to do...he had to wait things out...and make something that could truly defeat them all.

"Hmmm, I could try that..." he mused to himself as he watched the security cameras. There was some no-name janitor going about his time, cleaning the floors and such, it was then that an idea hit him: He'd relied on solely on machines...machines has limits...humans theoretically did not...

"I think I know what can finally trump that accursed Meteor..."
