  1. Summary:
  2. The contractor in this assignment will be responsible for working in conjunction with existing team members, assisting in the resolution of any incidents or requests related to our Voice and Data Network, Server, Client PC and Mainframe environments. It is expected they will utilize knowledge of the mentioned environments in order to assist internal customers. Tasks include, but are not limited to; resolving hardware/software issues, installation of new products, providing technical service to customers, equipment pickups, fulfilling basic service requests, etc. This role will be responsible for helping to ensure the health and 100% availability of our systems by assisting in the resolution of any incidents or requests impacting outages in our Voice and Data Network, Server, Client PC and Mainframe environments. Working in a 24x7 production-oriented environment, this contractor must be able to work independently and possess the needed knowledge/experience to handle a wide-range of IT responsibilities and maintain a high level of attention to detail.

  4. For this request a traditional work schedule (i.e. Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM) is available; however, business needs may dictate the need for flexible scheduling.

  6. The assignment does include a physical component as it may require installation and movement of IT related equipment. This could also include travel between buildings in the Mayfield vicinity to order service equipment and requests.

  8. The work-break down split is 85% basic work functions such as delivering PC equipment, fulfilling basic service requests, etc., and 15% more challenging, Tier II Incident troubleshooting work.

  10. Required Skills:
  11. • Working knowledge of MS operating systems and applications
  12. • Must have a strong technical aptitude with demonstrable success in researching, configuring and troubleshooting complex IT technologies
  13. • Strong knowledge of computer and server hardware
  14. • Must be resourceful and able to take initiative in a dynamic environment
  15. • Ability to effectively and efficiently troubleshoot technical problems
  16. • Professional customer service skills with the ability to work with resources at all levels of the organization

  18. Education requirements:
  19. Education and/or experiences listed below are the minimum requirements for job entry.
  20. • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math or related field of study.
  21. • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of two years related experience working with operating system hardware and/or software components in a large IT environment with many categories of devices, infrastructures and operating systems, or the completion of an established apprenticeship program may be accepted.
  22. • This position requires online pre-employment testing for external candidates.
