it unlocks many cool features!
- Mainly meant to act as a support while learning from a VOD. Please download v1.01 or lower to hopefully guarantee swap zips working.
- Tech, features etc.
- -----
- Quick (Item) Switch - Start + Use, holding Start is a handy thing since it doesn't trigger the pause screen. Intended feature, but possible to miss.
- (Infinite) Wall Climb - With your back close against any wall, hold up and swap between the bros in a rhythm to gain height. Only Lantern helps with height gain so you want to maximize his time out while minimizing Frost's time out, resulting in a nice tapping rhythm for longer climbs. Incredibly useful in many places, get it down.
- Damage Duplication/Lantern Charge Shot Glitch - The tool for shredding non-resistant bosses to bits. Believed to work because Lantern/Pyro Jack's charge shot is in an enemy hitbox while another Lantern projectile enters it, resulting in damage equaling the power of a charge shot and a regular shot combined. Naturally, the time window for this is limited to enemy hitbox size, ranging from massive (Giri) to small (Alice). DO NOT continue to spam once you see the damage numbers drop to normal again (preferably anticipate, comes with experience), it's much faster to fire a charge shot again and deal damage in massive bursts.
- How to: Charge a shot with Lantern, release and start mashing Fire and Swap buttons simultaneously for a short period.
- Swap Zipping (fixed in v1.02) - Hold Swap button while walking into an area loading zone. Often sends you out of bounds.
- Level Up Glitch - Simply pause at the same time you level up. Locks the camera in place and locks you in the character you paused as until unpausing. Incredibly useful for skipping cutscenes and bosses. Exp routes are a thing because of this, so pay mind to what you kill or don't.
- Clipping - Fire down in midair as Frost/Demonee-Ho while on an interactable object (ice, stage 4 wood platform, elevators) to clip through. Very frame tight, which makes the trick to seem kind of random. Firing closer to the ground and trying to time it instead of mashing seems to have better luck though.
- Good to know
- -----
- Bifrons only does his fully invincible and incredibly slow "special move" when he's below 50% health at the end of his flame wheel attack. Skipping it saves you about a lifetime's worth of seconds.
- You can skip Demonee-Ho textboxes by activating it for the first time while activating a teleporter or entering an area loading zone. Saves 2~ seconds.
- Using Maragi might help you with guaranteeing quick kills on Alice, though the spell start animation is about 1.5 seconds, it is still faster than letting her teleport.
- Activating Demonee-Ho at the earliest possible moment will cause the game to softlock, which is why you need to have at least one item in your inventory when picking up the suit. (not tested on versions past 1.01)
