  1. A PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE SCDC: LEVEL 4 PUBLIC HEALTH WARNING
  2. We are issuing a public health warning concerning a pathogen commonly known as the "love virus." While most of the time, the virus is harmless, officials at the SCDC have identified an emerging and lethal strain of the love virus, LVH7.
  3. Onset of LVH7 is characterized by redness, unexplained bruising, and shortness of breath. As the disease progresses, patients become more susceptible to bruising and bleeding, and blood clotting slows dramatically. Those affected by LVH7 also experience severe itching, causing them to scratch until they bleed. It is unknown what happens to humans after this, but testing in lab rats suggests that the end result is fatal internal hemorrhaging.
  4. LVH7 can be spread by contact with bodily fluids, especially saliva or blood. While Valentine's Day is coming up, please avoid bodily contact with others. If you suspect that you or a loved one has contracted the virus, please notify the SCDC immediately. Officials are distributing a supply of Nuvada, a drug that is effective in slowing, but not stopping, progress of the disease. A vaccine and a cure are in development and can be expected by the end of February.
  5. The SCDC urges you to remain calm and practice good hygeine in this time of crisis.
