"The band was performing exceptionally poorly today - mostly as a result of students not having practiced over the weekend at all - so I assisted Mr. Claybrook in teaching his music appreciation class next door instead of waiting around for a headache. The subject of his class today was on two things: the importance and technique of lyrics, and the traditional use of lyrics and music in love songs. The students were assigned a project in which they would compose lyrics with a given rhyme scheme to a love song. The purpose in this project is twofold in its goals and intentions: to give the students another project grade before final examinations, and to force the demographically prevalent group to diverge and experiment with music that they normally would not listen to instead of waiting around for a headache.
