- An uptight and by-the-book cop tries to protect the outgoing widow of a drug boss as they race through Texas pursued by crooked cops and murderous gunmen.
- Rose Cooper is an uptight and by-the-book cop whose name has become synonymous with screw-ups. She's given a chance to redeem herself one day when she is assigned to protect a federal witness, Daniella Riva, the vivacious and outgoing widow of a drug boss. As the two polar opposites race through Texas, they find themselves pursued by everyone from crooked cops to murderous gunmen. However, their greatest obstacle to making this out alive may be themselves as they learn that Cooper has now been considered a fugitive fleeing with Daniella.
- Anyone with half a brain while watching the trailer could have deduced that this movie was going to be a disaster. In fact, they could have also deduced that they've already seen 75% of the movie. And the only reason why I even saw this... is due to reasons far beyond anyone's comprehension (okay, a bunch of my friends and I were drunk).<br/><br/>But as of writing this review, I realized something: what if the majority of the audience for this movie is going to be composed of people who know the movie is bad, but just don't care? And for them, here's my review:<br/><br/>Ignore my rating of 1/10 (that is, by all means, a rating meant for people with expectations for this movie). <br/><br/>This is just another one of your standard run-of-the-mill cop comedy. The acting is awkwardly over-the-top. Almost all of the jokes and one liners failed to make me laugh (I saw them coming just before they were about to happen). And there isn't as much nudity as you would think there is (just the brief glimpses shown in the trailer).<br/><br/>Warner Bros.' desperate attempt to appeal to the ever-growing female demographic is truly appalling. And as for Reese Witherspoon's (producer of the brilliant Gone Girl) new mission of trying to make GOOD films that MATTER to female audiences, she has already failed spectacularly.<br/><br/>VERDICT (for people with expectations): SKIP IT (and save your money for the upcoming Mad Max, Pitch Perfect 2, Tomorrowland, or Jurassic World. Or rewatch Avengers: Age of Ultron).<br/><br/>VERDICT (for people who don't care): Well... I guess you'll get a few laughs?
- 87 minutes I won't get back...<br/><br/>I only watched it on the advice of a friend of mine ... he's sorry too now! <br/><br/>My 19 year old daughter watched it with us... and she constantly sighed! It just isn't funny, or clever, or entertaining in any way!<br/><br/>Predictable... badly directed, produced and acted ! It has nothing going for it at all...<br/><br/>David Feeney hasn't really written anything of note before, and this certainly doesn't change that!<br/><br/>Anne Fletcher must have been desperate for a new kitchen or something to have taken on the directing of such a badly written sure to be flop!<br/><br/>Witherspoon is getting old and it shows... she seems perhaps shorter than before... and clearly has lost her talent for acting (if she ever really had any) <br/><br/>Nuff said - AVOID !
- Hot Pursuit is a quiet triumph of tone and timing. Nearly every scene is cut at just the right point, often topped off with a fantastic kicker of dialogue.
