  70. MISCELLANEOUS
  71.
  72. Speed seems to be the most important stat; having more speed vastly increases the amount of turns you get. Therefore Bandit's Ring/Shoes and Dancer's Ring/Shoes are essential items. Also Magical Greaves over both Combat Shoes and Stardust Boots.
  73.
  74. The best way to farm money is by fighting 00PARTS, NOT Yellow Birds. Also the Chest minigame on the Phantom Ship for the Ultimate Wargod is completely free.
  75.
  76. It's not worth farming sachets for killing rainbow birds. Use Panic Bells and manip RNG instead lol.
  77.
  78. The probability to successfully escape from battle depends on the player's level.
  79.
  80. The experience mechanics follows these rules:
  81. - The gained experience is divided equally to each battle character(s) in the party.
  82. - Knocked out battle character(s) will not gain any experience.
  83. - Each character outside the party will gain half of the experience of what one battle character gains.
  84.
  85. Elements/Typing: Element 1 is deals/takes more damage against Element 2. An Element deals less damage to the same Element.
  86. - Fire (Red) vs Water (Blue).
  87. - Earth (Golden Brown) vs Wind (Green).
  88. - Dark (Dark Violet/Black) vs Light (White).
  89. - Lightning (Purple) vs nothing.
  90. - Devine Dragoon (Gray) vs nothing.
  91.
  92. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  93.
  94. REGARDING RNG
  95.
  96. My Notes:
  97. - Power Up and Power Down seem to affect turn priority.
  98. - Speed Up and Speed Down obviously have a big impact on RNG by rearranging turn priority.
  99. - The seed for the initial RNG is currently unknown (on boot up???).
  100. - Different items cause different RNG. Who you use an item, such as healing items, who it is used on likely matters.
  101. - RNG changes from attacking and number of moves completed in the addition. Implies that higher additions can affect RNG more.
  102. > For example: If dart has Mind Crush equipped (can cause confusion) and is using Blazing Dynamo, the first hit alone may not cause confusion but the 5th hit could and then the 6th might not. The point being that RNG seems to change due to this for some reason.
  103. - In addition to the previous point, the % of a thrown magic could matter too.
  104.
  105.
  106. From: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/197765-the-legend-of-dragoon/57398495 ; #6
  107.
  108. PSX games use an RNG that is pre-determined from a list of numbers arbitrarily set to a pattern.
  109.
  110. 1
  111. 8
  112. 39
  113. 204
  114. 111
  115. 26
  116. 180
  117. 95
  118. 63
  119. 99
  120. 254
  121. etc...
  122.
  123. The way to advance through the list is to perform actions. So the battle RNG would start at 1. Whenever you attack, heal, defend, etc..., the RNG advances to the next number on the list. So that number /256 = your chance of success.
  124.
  125. So typically if you save-state and the number is at 39, and the next attack kills the enemy, simply repeating the action will result in you rolling a 204 against the chance of the item dropping. But let's say you use an attack that requires 2 uses of the RNG...for example, Rose's drain attack against the enemy...it might advance the RNG 2 spots, so that your number is 111.
  126.
  127. So in the case of getting two items, you use two attacks after the number is at 39. So the first attack pushes the roll to 204. The second attack pushes the roll to 111. The first item drop chance uses 26, the next item drop chance uses 180. So let's say each item has a ~4% chance to drop. This means the drop chance is 10/256. Which means the number you roll has to be below 10. In both cases you get nothing.
