  1. [OVERVIEW]
  2.
  3. * Normal is a decent offensive and defensive typing, hitting most Pokemon for neutral damage while having one weakness.
  4. * A lot of coverage moves such as Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, and Shadow Ball, allowing it to hit many things for super effective damage.
  5. * 130 is a great Special Attack stat, backed up by two great offensive abilities, Adaptability and Download.
  6. * 90 is not the best Speed stat for an offensive Pokemon, especially one as frail as Porygon Z
  7. * One of the few setup sweepers in the current meragame thanks to Z Conversion .
  8.

  23. Moves
  24. ========
  25.
  26. * Tri Attack is a powerful and reliable STAB boosted thanks to Adaptability.
  27. * Hyper Beam OHKO many Pokemon that don't resist it, while still dealing huge damage to those that do.
  28. * Ice Beam hits Pokemon such as Garchomp, Salamence, and Aerodactyl for more damage than Tri Attack.
  29. * Thunderbolt hits Gyarados and deals decent damage to Celesteela if required.
  30. * Shadow Ball hits Marowak and Tapu Lele for supereffective damage.
  31.
  32. Set Details
  33. ========
  34.
  35. * Max Attack and Speed to hit as fast and strong as possible.
  36. * Choice Scarf allows it to outspeed any unboosted Pokemon not named Pheromosa.
  37. * Modest nature to ensure maximum damage output.
  38. * Timid can be used to outspeed Naive Pheromosa, but loses damage and is generally not worth it.
  39.
  40. Usage Tips
  41. ========
  42.
  43. * Use this Pokemon to revenge kill anything it can hit for supereffective damage, or simply finish off with Tri Attack.
  44. * Use Hyper Beam to break past bulky Pokemon that would otherwise wall your teammates.
  45. * Porygon can be sent out first in order to start punching through things with its powerful stabs and leave the opposing team weakened, or can clean up itself after the opposing team is low on HP.
  46. *
  47.
  48. Team Options
  49. ========
  50.
  51. * Ground Types that can get rid of Steel and Rock Types along with Gengar, such as Garchomp and Krookodile.
  52. * Pokemon that can deal prior damage to thr opposing team for Porygon to clean up, or that can clean up after Porygon has handed out damage with Hyper Beam
  53. * Taunt or Roar users that can stop the enemy from setting up Trick Room, which would otherwise make Porygon useless. Alternatively, a Pokemon that can do enough damage to knock out Porygon2 after a Hyper Beam can be enough, as Porygon2 is the most relevant Trick Room setter in the meta

  71. Moves
  72. ========
  73.
  74. * Z Conversion is a one use boosting move that raises all stats by one stage. Because of Z Move characteristics, it can still be used after Taunt.
  75. * Having Shadow Ball in the first slot allows Porygon Z to turn into a Ghost type after Conversion, giving it a great reliable stab that not many Pokemon resist. Ghost type is arguably the best offensive indivudual typing in the game.
  76. * Protect is mandatory in doubles as it allows you to play around your opponent, scout moves, and stall.
  77. * Tri Atack can be used before Conversion, giving Porygon a relaible STAB on turn 1. Alrernatively, you can fire off an Adaptability Breakneck Blitz if you don't think you will be able to set up. It's worth nothing that no single Pokemon can resist both Shadow Ball and Tri Attack
  78. * Hyper Beam can be used as an alternative to Tri Attack as it allows you to deal even more damage with Breakneck Blitz.
  79.
  80. Set Details
  81. ========
  82.
  83. * Max Special Attack and Speed to hit as fast and strong as possible.
  84. * Timid Nature to outspeed anything unboosted, including Pheromosa.
  85. * Modest Nature can be used to guarantee some KOs that Timid wouldn't be able to get.
  86.
  87. Usage Tips
  88. ========
  89.
  90. * Use this Pokemon to tear apart frail teams with +1 Adaptability Shadow Balls.
  91. * Make sure to have proper team support to allow Porygon Z to set up safely.
  92. * Don't be afraid to use Breakneck Blitz if you know that Z Conversion will not be as effective against a specific team.
  93. * Switch out Porygon Z when there are only Dark or Normal types on the field, as a +0 Adaptability Tri Attack will outdamage a +1 non STAB Tri Attack.
  94.
  95. Team Options
  96. ========
  97.
  98. * Fake Out Support. Weavile, who has the fastest Fake Out in the metagame, can shut down Snarl and Roar users that can otherwise mess up your setup. Hariyama can hit Dark and Normal types for super effective damage while still hitting everything else like a truck thanks to Guts.
  99. * Follow Me users such as Clefairy or Smeargle can help Porygon Z set up while supporting it.
  100. * Speed Control to ensure Porygon is not shut down by Trick Room or opposing Tailwind users.
  101. * Heal Pulse users such as Tapu Fini or Comfey (Floral Healing) can keep Porygon Z healthy for extended periods of time. Thanks to the boosts to Defense and Special Defense, Porygon Z becoms a bit tanky.
  102. * Psych Up users like the Tapus, Metagross, or anything else can take Porygon's boost to continue the pressure after Porygon goes down.
  103.

  117. Moves
  118. ========
  119.
  120. * Adaptability Breakneck Blitz and Hyper Beam hit anything that doesn't resist it extremely hard.
  121. * Dark Pulse hits Ghost types for super effective damage and has a chance to flinch, while Shadow Ball can be used for the chance to drop Special Defense.
  122. * Ice Beam will OHKO Dragons such as Garchomp and Salamence.
  123. * Protect is mandatory.
  124.
  125. Set Details
  126. ========
  127.
  128. * Max Speed allows you to outspeed things like Timid Xurkitree, Modest max Speed Tapu Lele, and anything EV'd to reach that speed benchmark.
  129. * Max attack to ensure maximum damage output.
  130. * Modest can be run to guarantee some KOs with Hyper Beam after you use up your Z Move
  131. *
  132.
  133. Usage Tips
  134. ========
  135.
  136. * Use this set to break holes into teams that have limited answers to strong Normal type moves.
  137. * Be wary of potential switch ins that can take a Breakneck Blitz. Make sure to use it where it hurts the most.
  138. * Adaptability Breakneck Blitz will punish switchins extremely hard. Your opponent will have to think twice on whether he wants to stay in on a supereffective move or switch into a Breakneck Blitz. Use this to your advantage.
  139. *
  140.
  141. Team Options
  142. ========
  143.
  144. * Pokemon that can clean up after Porygon has dealt damage such as Garchomp
  145. * Speed control can ensure Porygon doesn't die immediately to Kartana or Pheromosa and can ensure that it is fast enough to outspeed Garchomp and Salamence
  146. * Pokemon that can appreciate Porygon Z's wallbreaking capabilities can work pretty well alongside it.
  147. * Faster Pokemon such as Tapu Koko and Pheromosa that can pressure anything faster than Porygon can allow it to safely nuke 1 or 2 things off the field.
  148.
  149. [STRATEGY COMMENTS]
  150. Other Options
  151. =============
  152.
  153. * Thunderbolt can be used to hit harder in Electric Terrain and to hit Celesteela.
  154. * Modest nature can be used over Timid on any set to hit even harder while still being very fast.
  155. Blizzard can be run over Ice Beam if you're using Alolan Ninetails. Replacing Shadow Ball with Blizzard on the Z Conversion set will allow Porygon to deal significant damage to both opponents, but can become unreliable with weather wars and the popularity of Tapu Fini and Kartana.
  156.
  157. Checks and Counters
  158. ===================
  159.
  160. **Steel and Rock types**: Pokemon that can resist Tri Attack or Hyper Beam and take pitiful damage from its coverage moves such as Gigalith and Celestella can wall it and take it out.
  161.
  162. **Faster Scarfers**: Pokemon such as Scarf Garchomp, Kartana, and Tapu Lele can outspeed it the scarf/conversion variants and most likely take it out.
  163.
  164. **Phazing**: Moves like Roar, Dragon Tail, and Haze will get rid of Conversion Porygon Z's stat boosts and significantly decrease its usefulness.
  165.
  166. **Normal and Dark types**: Pokemon like Oranguru, Porygon 2, and Alolan Muk will wall Conversion Porygon Z and can take it down.
  167.
  168. **Fast offensive threats**: Anything can can outspeed Porygon Z and OHKO can stop the damage before it even starts. Pheromosa, Tapu Lele, Kartana, or anything that can deal big damage to it can get rid of it easily. Positive natured Pheromosa can outspeed any neutral natured Porygon Z, though it will not be able to touch it after it becomes a Ghost type
