  1. Treasure Conflix
  2.
  3.
  4. - Being a Satellaview game, there's no legitimate way of playing the game
  5. at this point. You'll have to use either an emulator or a flash cart.
  6. - To play the game using an SD2Snes (aka FXPak), place the boot-up
  7. rom (renamed to bsxbios.bin) in the sd2snes folder. After that, you
  8. can load up a Satellaview game like any other rom.
  9. - When using an emulator, the process may vary. I'd recommend BSnes
  10. for its accuracy. When using BSnes, choose Satellaview in the Expansion
  11. Port menu. Next, choose Load Game and load the BSX BIOS, then the game
  12. itself. You'll likely need to rename the rom to have a .bs file extension.
  13. - In the BS-X hub world, you start off in front of a red building.
  14. Enter the building and you'll be given four options. Choose the first
  15. one to start the game. (The second option deletes the game, so better
  16. not try that one.)
  17. - You may encounter a few inconsequential graphical glitches while
  18. playing the game (eg. when leaving a location, a strip of land south
  19. of you may have graphics that are out of place, Gilmore's sprite glitches
  20. up if you talk to him in the Kumo no Shinden, and the Salvage Ship's
  21. sprite may fail to load).
  22.
  23. - Most of the game involves flying around looking for treasure. There
  24. are some battles too, but dogfighting in Mode 7 isn't exactly Lylat
  25. Wars or Drakengard 2, as you might suspect. I'd say you can still
  26. appreciate it for what it is.
  27. - You can do a soft reset by hitting the usual buttons.
  28. - If you want to translate any of the Japanese words, punch them into
  29. jisho.org.
  30. - Each town has a Hunter's Office, where you can sell treasure (first
  31. option) and buy treasure clues or maps. You CANNOT find a piece of
  32. treasure until you've obtained a clue about it.
  33. - The office may have multiple clues available at a time. Choose 'no'
  34. on one you've already heard about to hear about another one.
  35. - New treasure is listed as soon as it becomes available.
  36. - The auction house at Randos allows you to sell treasure at ~50-300%
  37. of the usual price, usually around 100%. Each session has three bidders.
  38. There are eight different bidders in total: Bones, Cayer, Orios, Seffman,
  39. Jeshua, Roserg, Vianne, and Babil. The bidding starts at 50% of the
  40. item's regular value. The bidders will then increase the price by values
  41. that include, but are not limited to: 100, 200, 300, 500, 1000, 2000,
  42. 3000, 5000, 11 000, 20 000. Lower value items will only get lower end
  43. raises. The final price varies wildly depending on your luck. Aside from
  44. just grinding the RNG, the one optimization that makes a big difference
  45. is selling your most valuable items to Babil, the quiet guy. If he bids,
  46. he'll top the highest bid by double or triple the amount of the base value.
  47. That means you can get about 50-100k from the most valuable items in the
  48. game. You won't be able to sell that many items to him, however, due to
  49. the way the participants are handled. Namely, the people participating
  50. in the sessions are fixed, and you won't move to the next session unless
  51. you sell something. Babil participates in the 5th, 14th, 20th, 25th, 29th,
  52. 31st and 32nd sessions. If no one bids on an item, you'll keep the item,
  53. but still move to the next session. This is very unlikely, however. If
  54. this doesn't happen, you can have at most 31 sessions.
  55. - You can sell treasure to Bones directly at Fort Fatras as well. He'll
  56. offer up to 30% more than the Hunter's Office for some items.
  57. - There are six locations on the world map initially:
  58.
  59. --------------------
  60. | |
  61. | P |
  62. | | Z: Razor Town
  63. | | R: Randos Base
  64. | | K: Kazusa Base
  65. | K | P: Junktown Peppermint
  66. | R | F: Fort Fatras
  67. | C | C: Kumo no Shinden
  68. | |
  69. | F Z |
  70. | |
  71. --------------------
  72.
  73. - You control a Treasure Hunter named Voyse.
  74. - You start off at Razor Town, where your old buddy Rowd asks if you're
  75. interested in a job.
  76. - Next, go talk to Merc in the hangar and you'll soon find yourself in
  77. control of your trusty airship (hikuusen). You'll also receive 1000 credits.
  78. - Press X while flying to control Voyse in the cockpit. There are three
  79. points of interest in the cockpit: the machine on the left that lets
  80. you save and load the game, the box on the right that holds the treasures
  81. you currently have as well as treasure maps, and the rudder.
  82.
  83. - Merc can modify different parts of your airship. You start off with
  84. the cheapest possible stuff. When you modify, the old part is lost in
  85. the process.
  86. - If you sell everything you can to Bones, you'll end up with a grand
  87. total of about 350 000 credits to spend. That's plenty. No need to bother
  88. with the auction house if you don't feel like wrestling with the RNG.
  89. - The Volcano is powerful but has a very low rate of fire. You should
  90. skip it unless you intentionally want to make the game harder.
  91. - Merc's Dream is basically a rapid fire version of the Volcano.
  92. - The Hercules has poor backpedaling ability, so you'll want to avoid
  93. that. GT Dash mk2 isn't that great either.
  94. - The Gargoyle is quite heavy and will slow down turning substantially
  95. without a better rudder.
  96.

  128.
  129.
  130.
  131. - If you spend at least 20k during a single shopping session, Merc will
  132. offer you a chance to play a bonus stage, where your goal is to collect
  133. 16 yellow balls. You'll win a few grand for completing it.
  134. - Bonus Stage 1: The yellow balls are orbited by red balls that you
  135. need to avoid.
  136. - Bonus Stage 2: Same as 1 except some of the yellow balls are moving.
  137. - Bonus Stage 3: No obstacles, but you're flying pretty fast, so you
  138. might miss the target.
  139.
  140. - There's nothing of interest in the other locations yet.
  141. - Approach Randos Base north of Razor to initiate the first battle.
  142.
  143.
  144.
  145. Battle 1 - Kuuzokudan no Shuugeki 2000
  146.
  147. - The first battle involves mowing down some sky pirates. They move
  148. around fairly fast, so better use L and R to turn faster.
  149. - You can use items during battle by pressing X. You start off with
  150. a Red Bomb, which heavily damages all visible enemies. You can carry
  151. 5 items at most. Press Y to switch the selected item. Seeing as how
  152. expensive items are, you likely won't be relying on them too much.
  153. - At the end, you'll fight their leader, Red Spade. His shots aren't
  154. very accurate, so your main concern is just avoiding collision damage.
  155. Keep backpedaling and don't let him too close.
  156. - Battles have a time limit that you probably don't have to worry about.
  157. - Battle segments award you with a fixed amount of money as well as a
  158. time bonus and a damage bonus. The bonuses can easily double the money
  159. you receive.
  160.
  161.
  162. - Afterwards, land in Randos and talk to Rowd. He'll introduce you to
  163. a man named Gilmore, who asks your help in finding an ancient artifact
  164. known as the Kumo no Tobira (Cloud Gate). He'll give you 3500 credits
  165. to help you get started.
  166. - Talk to Rowd in Razor Town to hear about the hidden village.
  167.
  168. - Hold A while flying to scan for treasure directly below you. You
  169. should stay at max altitude while scanning.
  170.
  171.
  172.
  173. Artifact name Value Clue loc. Cost Bones
  174. ---------------------------------------------------------------
  175. ( Seishi Senki | 2400 | Randos | 200 | b1,375)
  176. ---------------------------------------------------------------
  177. - In the forest surrounded by mountains east of Kazusa.
  178.
  179. --------------------------------------------------------------
  180. ( Kurosango no Kamikazari | 2000 | Razor | 500 | - )
  181. --------------------------------------------------------------
  182. - In the forest east from Razor.
  183.
  184. --------------------------------------------------------------
  185. ( Shinju no Kubikazari | 2400 | Peppermint | 300 | - )
  186. --------------------------------------------------------------
  187. - On one of the small islands east of Peppermint.
  188.
  189. --------------------------------------------------------------
  190. ( Gin no Saiki | 4000 | Kazusa | 800 | b1,2 )
  191. --------------------------------------------------------------
  192. - In the plains surrounded by forest northwest of Kazusa.
  193.
  194. --------------------------------------------------------------
  195. ( Tenshi no Yumiya | 4000 | Fatras | 1000 | b1,2 )
  196. --------------------------------------------------------------
  197. - Becomes available after talking to Rowd in Razor.
  198. - In the forest in the middle of the desert north of Randos.
  199.
  200.
  201.
  202. - Talk to Bones at Fatras twice. He'll ask for an artifact in exchange
  203. for information on the location of the hidden village. The Kodai no
  204. Tsuuka is ideal for this purpose, since it can't be sold at the hunter's
  205. office. If you give Bones something else, you can sell it to Bones or
  206. auction it, but it has a low value.
  207. - If you didn't talk to Rowd at Razor yet, you could already sell
  208. treasure to Bones, although there are only two items he'll accept.
  209. Once you bring up the hidden village, he won't buy anything again
  210. until you've given him an artifact.
  211. - The auction house will also be unavailable until you give Bones an
  212. artifact.
  213.
  214.
  215.
  216. --------------------------------------------------------------
  217. ( Kodai Shuukyou Kyouten | 3000 | Fatras | 500 | b1,3 )
  218. --------------------------------------------------------------
  219. - In the forested valley between two mountains near Kumo no Shinden.
  220.
  221. --------------------------------------------------------------
  222. ( Kin no Kamikazari | 4000 | Razor | 100 | - )
  223. --------------------------------------------------------------
  224. - Near the hand-like peninsula east of Randos.
  225.
  226. --------------------------------------------------------------
  227. ( Kodai no Tsuuka | (2000)| Randos | - | b1,3 )
  228. --------------------------------------------------------------
  229. - Between the two small mountains surrounded by forest SE of Randos.
  230.
  231. --------------------------------------------------------------
  232. ( Amethyst no Udewa | 7000 | Kazusa | 800 | b1,1 )
  233. --------------------------------------------------------------
  234. - In the forested valley near Fort Fatras.
  235.
  236. --------------------------------------------------------------
  237. ( Mitsumebito no Dokuro | 3000 | Peppermint | 700 | b1,2 )
  238. --------------------------------------------------------------
  239. - On one of the identical islands west of Peppermint.
  240.
  241.
  242.
  243. - Give the Kodai no Tsuuka to Bones.
  244.
  245.
  246.
  247. --------------------------------------------------------------
  248. ( Furoufushi no Senyaku | 2400 | Randos | 500 | b1,17)
  249. --------------------------------------------------------------
  250. - Near Razor.
  251.
  252. --------------------------------------------------------------
  253. ( Miwaku no Yubiwa | 13 000 | Kazusa | 500 | b1,0 )
  254. --------------------------------------------------------------
  255. - At the tip of the peninsula north of Randos.
  256.
  257. --------------------------------------------------------------
  258. ( Daichishin no Yoroi | 10 000 | Peppermint | 1000 | b1,2 )
  259. --------------------------------------------------------------
  260. - Near the tip of the peninsula west of Razor.
  261.
  262.
  263.
  264. Battle 2 - Bouei Heiki Sakusen 4000
  265.
  266. - To initiate the battle, press B while on top of the tiny clearing
  267. in the forest northwest of Fort Fatras.
  268. - Your goal is to destroy the ancient defense mechanism that looks like
  269. a purple sphere. After taking out four waves of enemies, the sphere
  270. itself mobilizes and starts to attack. It will surround itself with 8
  271. drones that spin around it and occasionally stop to shoot at you. The
  272. main threat, however, is contact damage as the sphere tries to ram you.
  273. Should it succeed, you can expect heavy damage. While it's possible to
  274. take out the 8 drones around it, this is very time-consuming and, not
  275. to mention, unnecessary. Just keep a safe distance and aim at the sphere
  276. itself.
  277.
  278.
  279. - Afterwards, you are free to land in the Kodai Tami no Kakure Sato.
  280. - Keep talking to the elder until he spills the beans.
  281.
  282. - Talk to Rowd at Razor, and he'll direct you to Keane in Peppermint.
  283.
  284.
  285.
  286. --------------------------------------------------------------
  287. ( Gekkou ni Hikaru Ishi | 5000 | Randos | 1000 | - )
  288. --------------------------------------------------------------
  289. - On the island desert west of Kazusa.
  290.
  291. --------------------------------------------------------------
  292. ( Jubaku no Makyou | 4000 | Fatras | 600 | b1,2 )
  293. --------------------------------------------------------------
  294. - Near the mountains west of Peppermint.
  295.
  296.
  297.
  298. - Keane asks for 5 grand for information on the Cloud Gate's location.
  299.
  300.
  301.
  302. --------------------------------------------------------------
  303. ( Gin no Shokudai | 3000 | Razor | 1000 | b1,2 )
  304. --------------------------------------------------------------
  305. - On the island south of Fatras.
  306.
  307. --------------------------------------------------------------
  308. ( Dragon Shield | 7000 | Kazusa | 1200 | b1,2 )
  309. --------------------------------------------------------------
  310. - On the island northeast of Randos (west of the desert island).
  311.
  312. --------------------------------------------------------------
  313. ( Emerald no Yubiwa | 5000 | Fatras | 2000 | - )
  314. --------------------------------------------------------------
  315. - In the plus-shaped forest northwest of Randos.
  316.
  317. --------------------------------------------------------------
  318. ( Shirogane no Kazaritourou| 10 000 | Fatras | - | b1,1 )
  319. --------------------------------------------------------------
  320. - A guy named Fish will tell you about this one.
  321. - On the foot of the dog-shaped island northwest of Kazusa.
  322.
  323.
  324.
  325. - Talk to Rowd at Razor again.
  326. - You should now find Ragu's Salvage Ship east of Peppermint. Pay Arefu
  327. 15 000. Next, talk to Ragu, then Arefu.
  328. - Talking to Arefu is what triggers the next batch of treasure. At the
  329. same time, Merc will temporarily close shop. As such, the game tries
  330. to prevent you from ending up in a situation where you can't afford to
  331. buy the underwater modifications, in which case the game would be
  332. essentially soft-locked. However, you can still technically end up in
  333. this situation if you repeatedly buy the Kinkai clue from Keane.
  334. - Your ship can now dive into the Doom Triangle (the deeper part of the
  335. ocean that Ragu's ship is located at).
  336. - You can sell treasure to Ragu as well, but he gives you regular prices.
  337.
  338. - Talk to Tooto at Peppermint and he'll offer to either upgrade your
  339. radar so it can display enemy bullets or give you a special shot used
  340. with A that circles around you. You should definitely go with the orbit
  341. shot (second option). Seeing enemy bullets on the radar is hardly useful,
  342. given how fast they move. Seeing missiles on the radar can be somewhat
  343. useful, but they're already visible by default.
  344. - The orbit shot has a moderate fire rate, but it can't be used simul-
  345. taneously with the regular shot.
  346.
  347.
  348. --------------------------------------------------------------
  349. ( Shinmon Gyoku?? | 12 000 | Razor | 2000 | b1,3 )
  350. --------------------------------------------------------------
  351. - By the coast northeast from Kazusa.
  352.
  353. --------------------------------------------------------------
  354. ( Kinkai | 10 000 | Peppermint | 1000 | - )
  355. --------------------------------------------------------------
  356. - Keane tells you about this one.
  357. - Just a little west of Randos.
  358.
  359. --------------------------------------------------------------
  360. ( Ruby no Yubiwa | 5000 | Peppermint | 500 | - )
  361. --------------------------------------------------------------
  362. - Silva tells you about this one. If he talks about Red Spade instead,
  363. leave and come back.
  364. - On the medium-sized island east of Razor.
  365.
  366. --------------------------------------------------------------
  367. ( Taiyou no Yubiwa | 15 000 | Peppermint | 1000 | b1,2 )
  368. --------------------------------------------------------------
  369. - On the island south of Kazusa.
  370.
  371. --------------------------------------------------------------
  372. ( A Cat's Eye | 10 000 | Kazusa | 1500 | - )
  373. --------------------------------------------------------------
  374. - In the forest east of Doom Triangle.
  375.
  376. --------------------------------------------------------------
  377. ( Jashin no Chouzou | 8000 | Kumo no Sh.| - | b1,2 )
  378. --------------------------------------------------------------
  379. - Nasuka at Kumo no Shinden tells you about this one and the next one.
  380. - On the island north of Fatras.
  381.
  382. --------------------------------------------------------------
  383. ( Megami no Zou | 24 000 | Kumo no Sh.| - | b1,2 )
  384. --------------------------------------------------------------
  385. - By the coast near the island above.
  386. - I've never seen Babil bid on this one.
  387.
  388.
  389.
  390. - When you dive into the Doom Triangle, you won't leave the water until
  391. you've found a shipwreck. You'll have to locate these using the sonar,
  392. which briefly and periodically highlights two shipwrecks: the closest
  393. one and a random one. The diving spot determines which treasure you'll
  394. find, so you should always go for the nearest one. There are seven
  395. diving spots in total.
  396.
  397. South | Kin no Udewa | 8000 | b1,1 |
  398. | Kodai Ouchou no Houkan | 30 000 | b1,3 |
  399.
  400. East | Hakuhou no Tsurugi | 20 000 | b1,2 |
  401.
  402. NE | (empty) | | |
  403.
  404. North | Daiya no Yubiwa | 17 000 | - |
  405.
  406. NW | Kumo no Tobira | - | - |
  407. | (empty) | | |
  408.
  409. - Gilmore will quickly relieve the Kumo no Tobira from your possession.
  410. You'll then find yourself fending off enemies underwater.
  411.
  412.
  413.
  414. Battle 3 - Kaitei Stage 10 000
  415.
  416. - Your movement is hindered by the environment.
  417. - One of the enemies can shoot missiles (or torpedoes, I guess) at you.
  418. You can easily just shoot them down. Well, unless you have the Volcano
  419. or they catch you from behind.
  420. - One of the enemies lays mines. Don't waste your time shooting at them.
  421. - One of the enemies is a clamshell like thing. They come straight at
  422. you and then shoot three dual shots. If you're facing them, you'll be
  423. safe in the gap between the two lines of fire.
  424. - There's no boss. The battle ends once you've taken out 15 enemies.
  425.
  426.
  427.
  428. --------------------------------------------------------------
  429. ( Sapphire no Kanmuri | 12 000 | Randos | 1000 | b1,1 )
  430. --------------------------------------------------------------
  431. - On the large island east of Doom Triangle.
  432.
  433. --------------------------------------------------------------
  434. ( Kin no Seihai | 9000 | Peppermint | 500 | b1,2 )
  435. --------------------------------------------------------------
  436. - Silva sells you the map for this one.
  437. - Near the lake west of Kumo no Shinden.
  438.
  439.
  440.
  441. - Talk to the elder at the hidden village.
  442. - The last two battles are fought above Kumo no Shinden.
  443.

  446. Battle 4 - Unkai Stage 20 000
  447.
  448. - Due to the strong winds, you won't be able to backpedal effectively
  449. here without a powerful enough engine (eg. Bernard or Sonic Racer).
  450. - This battle presents a *drastic* increase in difficulty. You start
  451. off facing some easy fodder, but after that things start heating up.
  452. - The first enemy you face in phase 2 is a large aircraft that has high
  453. HP and shoots four missiles at a time. You fight them one-on-one, which
  454. is why they're not really a threat.
  455. - You also face missiles from a smaller aircraft who shoots two of them
  456. at a time.
  457. - Your main concern comes from three fast aircraft (a biplane, a TIE
  458. fighter, and a third kind), whose shots are both fast and very accurate.
  459. Keep backpedaling and try to take them out from as far away as possible.
  460. - At the end, you'll have a rematch with Red Spade. The same strategy
  461. applies; backpedal aggressively.
  462.
  463.
  464. - Afterwards, Rowd asks you something. Doesn't matter how you respond.
  465. When you examine the rudder, choose 'Yes' twice to return to the overworld.
  466. Only the final boss is left. You'll want to save your game before that.
  467.

  469.
  470. Battle 5 - Saishuu Stage
  471.
  472. - The final boss is a snake-like creature who moves very quickly. Aside
  473. from contact damage (which is your main concern), it can shoot homing,
  474. purple spheres and three white bullets. The purple spheres home very
  475. aggressively. The best way to avoid them is to get them to move around
  476. you in a circle.
  477. - The boss's sheer speed makes the battle overwhelming at first. In
  478. order to survive, you need to take out the five stone thingies nearby.
  479. This slows down the boss to the point where you should find him quite
  480. manageable. It's technically possible to kill him without destroying
  481. the five stones, but I wouldn't recommend trying. Not unless you have
  482. Merc's Dream.
  483.
  484.
  485.
  486.
  487. End of file.
