  1. > Loan walked downstairs to see her dad fiddling behind the tv, with some old piece of plastic sitting on the coffee table.
  2. > She tip toed down the stairs, trying to make it around the corner to the kitchen.
  3. > "Loan!" Damn it. "Come here; You'll love this. It's my old game council."
  4. > "Y-yeah dad, I know what it is." It was a Gamesphere, made in 2004, had a couple of hit titles but ultimately didn't stick around long.
  5. > The thing was so old she was pretty sure it was a hand me down from her mom to her dad.
  6. > "What's that?" Loan jumped at Lacy popping out of nowhere staring with curious eyes at the red sphere.
  7. > "It's a Gamesphere sunshine, don't worry about it. Loan come here." Lincoln motioned Loan over to the couch, and she begrudgingly sat down as Lacy sat on the armrest to watch.
  8. > "D-dad I don't really-"
  9. > "Hold on haven't played this in a while, so its gonna take a sec to boot up. I just wanna show you an old game I loved as a kid."
  10. > As if on cue the screen lit up with a ball of light slowly pulsating on the screen before blasting out the words GameSphere.
  11. > With the tagline, "It's Spherical."
  12. > The screen then showed two figures suddenly trading blows, one a man in red tight and the other a big fish man in jacket and jeans.
  13. > "Here, we can play a few rounds, I'm a little rusty, but I think-"
  14. > "I don't want to play this." Loan suddenly spat out, a little harsher then she meant.
  15. > "Oh, okay," He was a little hurt by the comment but his curiosity delve a little deeper. "We can play this later."
  16. > "Dad this game sucks." That was as harsh as she meant it.
  17. > Lincoln was taken a bit back by the sudden criticism. I mean sure this wasn't the best game out there but it was still fun.
  18. > Maybe he just needed to get a bit of perspective. He imagined his daughter was used to newer games, so she might not remember how it used to be.
  19. > "Okay, well, sure its a bit old but I think it still holds up."
  20. > "Barely. The game runs at 30 fps, The counter system is broken, All of the characters use the same spamming energy blast, All of the stages are just Jpeg backgrounds. The composer of the game basically just ripped off a bunch of movie soundtracks, half of the characters are from failed IPs, and on top of that its just a cash grab title that was probably sold for 50 bucks because they knew they could scam people out of buying a cheaply made game if they put enough comic book characters into it!" Loan caught her breath. Before hesitantly looking to her confused dad.
  21. > "It was actually 50 dollars."
  22. > "D-dad I'm s-sorry"
  23. > "No. No, its fine, I guess this game wouldn't really hold up to the stuff nowadays. You go ahead sweetie, i'll just play it myself for a bit."
  24. > Loan didn't want to get up now that she felt like an ass for making fun her dads favorite game.
  25. > Before she felt a hand pet the top of her head.
  26. > "It's okay. I know it sucks, you go back your games." Loan smiled a bit inching off the couch and back upstairs.
  27. > Lincoln sighed flicking the control over to fight mode. Looking at it now it did look a bit ancient.
  28. > He was about to start a match against a CPU until a Second Player logo popped up.
  29. > Lincoln looked back to the couch to see Lacy holding a controller.
  30. > "What? It looks like fun."
  31. > Lincoln smiled and picking his character, Ace Savvy.
  32. > Lacy Picked Karate Joe.
  33. > "Don't worry Lacy, I'll go easy on you until you get a handle on-"
  34. > 12X Combo
  35. > 23X Combo
  36. > 102x Combo
  37. > OMEGA COMBOOOO!!!
  38. > Karate Joe Wins, Perfect Win!
  39. > "Wow, this is games awesome"
  40. > Well, its better then playing alone.
