  5. Q The Nagasaki dialect you showed in this drama was very cute, but is there any dialect that makes your heart swoon?
  6.
  7. There is. We had this event where we could talk with the fans, and there was this one person who would speak with Hiroshima dialect. Every time they come to visit me, I would think about how truly cute it is and feel envious.
  8.
  9.
  10. Q I think all of your fans will adopt Hiroshima dialect after learning about this (laughs).
  11.
  12. That'll trouble me (laughs). Everyone, please speak naturally (laughs).
  13.
  14.
  15. Q What about your native Osaka dialect?
  16.
  17. Actually, I'm not that good at speaking using Osaka dialect. Osaka dialect sounds aggressive when listened to by people from other regions, don't you think? I'm scared that people will take what I say differently, so I started thinking a lot before saying something.

  20.
  21. Q Btw, what does Fujiyoshi-san think of Kou-chan that Yui-chan is having feelings toward?
  22.
  23. To be honest, he kind of pisses me off (laughs). Especially in the latter half of the story, there are many times when I thought "The heck is this guy doing?" as I'm reading the script (laughs).
  24.
  25. Q Well then, who do you think you'll pick out of the four male characters? Kou-chan, Kominato Aya, Kikuchi Toma, or Tanaka Yoichi?
  26.
  27. I think that Toma is a really nice guy. Don't you think that Toma is like a cloth?
  28.
  29. Q A cloth?
  30.
  31. Like, fluttering. But there is a warmth that envelops you in it. I thought it'd be nice to have someone like Toma by my side.
  32.
  33. Q I think I understand what you mean. Kou-chan's kindness hurts people, doesn't it?
  34.
  35. That's right. Of course, there is no doubt that he is a warm-hearted character, but from Futaba-chan and Yui-chan's point of view, he's undecided and there are many moments that made me wonder why he decided to act like that. But in truth, if I were in Kou-chan's position, I think it's inevitable to feel the same way.
  36.
  37. For now, all I can say is that if it were me, I think I would give up on Kou-chan, no matter how much I like him.
  38.
  39. Q You are not going to chase after him like Yui-chan?
  40.
  41. I think so. I have never been someone who thinks so deeply about someone like her. I felt envious of Yui-chan, who could love someone so devotedly like that.
  42.
  43. Q So are you the kind of person who does not get too deeply involved in your relationship with others, regardless of feeling of affection?
  44.
  45. I think so. I think I'm rather easygoing.
  46.
  47. Q You are known to be a shy person, aren't you?
  48.
  49. I'm a really shy person. That's why I feel more comfortable being with someone older than me. They are adults, so they'll be considerate toward me, won't they? That puts me at ease. I also love talking with the manager. I probably spend more time talking with my manager than the other members.
  50.
  51. Q That said, school is a place for people of the same generations to gather, but how did you spend your time as a student?
  52.
  53. That's why when I was in high school, I didn't have many friends in class (laughs). I feel that I'm better friends with kids from different schools.
  54.
  55. [Asked about school memories, answered the incense story. Also said she was in brass club in middle school so she spent her summer vacation doing the club activities. That's pretty much all her memories from school]
  56.
  57. Q Then, the title of the drama is "Ao Haru Ride", what moment is Fujiyoshi-san's most "Ao Haru (Youthful)" time?
  58.
  59. It's the present. If you ask me about a memorable experience, then it's when I went to France with Sakurazaka46 members in July. Members and staff members all sat on the terrace and had a meal together. I never thought I would be able to eat outside on a terrace with all the members like that, so it was a lot of fun.
  60.
  61. Q France, huh, that sure is nice.
  62.
  63. The manager took me to various shops, such as a restaurant and a clothing store. The second-hand clothing store was really cute, and I bought a dress there.
  64.
  65. Q Staying at the hotel is also a fun part of a trip, isn't it?
  66.
  67. I was with the members all the time. I slept very little, but I had so much fun that it wasn't hard at all. It was like a school trip.
  68.
  69. Q Speaking of Sakurazaka46, you were selected to center "Start over". Did your experience at the center make you more conscious of taking the lead as a face of the group?
  70.
  71. No, I don't think that I'm someone suitable to take the lead. I'm the type of person who would rather go from place to place rather than lead [from the front] (laughs). I once again thought that I'd like to go to a position that makes people say, "Huh? Is Fujiyoshi even here? She's not there?". I think I'm already satisfied with experiencing center once (laughs)
  72.
  73. Q Such an interesting way of thinking (laughs). I think you've been busy with other things as well, but in the midst of all that, what aspects of yourself do you feel are changing?
  74.
  75. "Azatokute Nani ga Warui no?" was the first time I worked outside of the group. After that, I was able to appear in "Ao Haru Ride". By experiencing outside work, it started to make me really enjoy my group activities instead. Of course, I was already enjoying it, but I guess it just made it even more enjoyable.
  76.
  77. When I perform a live show or when I am photographed for interviews like this, I often receive compliments from many people saying, "You have changed". I am sure that many things have changed without me even realizing it.
  78.
  79. Q Then, if you were to name the Best 3 things that made you happy in 2023, what would they be?
  80.
  81. First is how I was able to [design] the layout of photos in the group exhibition. I was very happy to have been able to spend time thinking of how I'd like to lay out the photos.
  82.
  83. Second is how the cameraman who shot me for "Samurai Mac" CM happened to be the same cameraman for "Start over!". I didn't expect that we'd meet for a CM, so it made me happy.
  84.
  85. The third one is how I was able to experience many new things. As a group, as I mentioned earlier, we have been able to work overseas. As for myself, I was also able to participate in a drama series such as this. It has been a really fulfilling year where I've been able to gain even more experience than last year.
  86.
  87. Q Thank you very much. Then lastly, could you show us a glimpse of Fujiyoshi-san's true self? There is a famous story where you sang "Bokutachino Shippai" by Morita Doji-san, a song that your parents used to hum often, for your audition. Did the entertainment that you were exposed to at home during your adolescence have any influence on the development of your personality?
  88.
  89. My dad loves cars. He used to always take me for a drive on Sundays. And in those moments, his favorite music was always playing in the car. Thanks to that, I naturally have some familiarity [with the music he played]. At that time, the music that was often played was RADWIMPS-san's. We had their albums at home and I would often take the liberty to listen to them. In that sense, I think there are many influences from the music I listened to back then.
