A Night in Fresh Air

Second watch passed by peacefully as Amy, Rafa, and Lian breathed in a deep sigh of relief. Finally, out of that damn red fog. Finally, actual day light. A cool rain had started an hour or so ago, and the temperature in this area of the temple was actually bearable. Amy got up and paced the room, keeping a hand near her weapon in case of intruders. However, what she found was something else entirely.

Underneath one of the bigger piles of ruble, she found the skeletal remains of a human. "Didn't notice that earlier...guess in the confusion we just took them for another dead baboon. There's hardly anything left..." She bowed her head for a moment and made a prayer to Isis for a safe passing to those who had fallen to this damnable place. She stood up straight, cracked her knuckles, and braced against the large stone. Her heaving attracted the attention of Rafa and Li.

"You're gonna wake up Ricky like that, Amy."

"Well then come help me push it you two. It's very heavy."

Lian made a cocky laugh, before Rafa and Amy's serious gazes made him roll his eyes and sigh. "Fine. Fine I'll help, with all my natural strength." Despite his complaining, with Rafa and Lian adding what little extra push they could, they managed to unbury the corpse. It took Rafa about a minute of searching to come back with a report. "They had 50 electrum coins on them...you know the government stopped minting those coins ages ago. Two of 'em are worth about a gold." Amy was only half listening to Rafa, busy watching Lian try to sneak something into his pocket. She stopped him, and he begrudgingly turned over the scroll case he had gotten halfway into his pocket.

The three of them popped it open, and out came a rolled up parchment, aged so long the paper had become delicate and tattered. Carefully unrolling it revealed a map. After looking over it for a bit, and finding the language written on it was not one they were familiar with, they saw in one section a square style pyramid marked on the map. Could this be where they were? The idea that they may have some clue to where in the world (literally) they happened to be brought them a brief, refreshing hope. Not all hope, however last. The three of their expressions slowly soured as they realized all the other locations of the map were completely foreign to them. They were, it seemed, very far from home.
