- Description: Doug and Lora, newlyweds that had been married only 10 days, decided to go for a walk around Eastfield College in Mesquite,TX, when Braziel leapt out of the bushes with a gun and demanded money. Doug and Lora said that they didn’t have any money, but could get him some and started walking back to their truck. Angered, Braziel ordered Doug and Lora to the ground, before shooting Doug in the head and the heart. He then tried to shoot Lora, but the gun malfunctioned, so he took her to a bushy area and r*ped her. He was caught in 2001, when DNA from the crime scene was matched to him after he was forced to hand over his DNA after being convicted of sexually assaulting a child.
