It’s funny what stays with you when you travel long enough. I can remember reading these books with my family when I was a kid in my first life. Some of the last good memories I would have of my family.
So as I stood in the inn of the last home it was like a dream come true, a moment like this was one of the reasons I began my journey of so long ago

I managed somehow not to show the awe and joy on my face as I  sat down with my companions who were mostly clueless. We actually got served by Tika and got to try Otik’s spiced Potatoes. Which by the way were excellent.

That was how I began my journey. We fought besides these heroes of my childhood, kept them healthy  and tried to hold back some to give them a chance to grow… That was hard for some of my companions. Arcueid in particular never sees the use in holding back (and it is tough to explain how killed a dragon in a single swipe as just luck)

We traveled together, I got called a fool by flint, got my pocket picked a few times by a certain handler. It’s funny but I didn’t even mind really.

I got in a bit of trouble with the tower of high sorcery… I actually managed to put them and their system on trial since I was a sorcerer I didn’t really feel welcome amongst the magi. They still put me through some test… which I passed but I continued to refuse to acknowledge them.

We traveled long and hard and each of the companions became a dear friend. It made it hard when it was time to say goodbye to Flint, I admit I cried (almost rezed him but someone whispered in my ear not to).

Doom - chan called me a fool for yielding on my own wishes but in her own way actually tried to comfort me. She believes in creating her own plots instead of accepting what’s given to her.

We continued on we found the discs of Mishakal, we brought back the gods to the world and then brought words of what they were doing with the good dragon eggs. We became heroes of the lance all of us, and more than that a band of friends.

Sadly my time did not end with the war, we continued on to watch time take them one by one. Some fell in battle which often we tried to prevent, some just grew old (it’s funny I offered the use of the fountain of youth to them but they refused). Still even though they died off I would never forget them. God I hate saying good bye.
