haeyeon was born and raised in busan, south korea. her family consisted of her grandparents and older brother. when she was young her parents went abroad to work to give them a better life. the two siblings were left to live with their grandparents who they depended on. Haeyeon's older brother, Jinyeong, were very close and are basically each other's other piece. The two are still in contact with their parents abroad who come and visit korea once a year. Haeyeon's school life was normal and she was always the top of her class. she was praised tons for her visuals and her singing voice, which gave her tons of confidence. haeyeon discovered singing when she was in elementary when she joined choir and got complimented on her voice.
from then on she kept practicing and practicing until she reached high school. when she started high school she was again part of the choir and all other music related activities. she also made sure to learn a few intruments including piano and violin. since then she's been passionate about music and wanted to do it for the rest of her life and that's when she auditioned and immediately got scouted.

when haeyeon is on camera she has a very modest and angel-like persona. she's very charming with showing her talents and giving it her all in all she does. but off camera she is very confident and be slightly arrogant. she likes getting praised by her members and by her fans and know that she's worth being praised because it's true what they say that she's a goddess. She is very mature, sweet and kind-hearted towards people and try to make people happy. Sometimes can be quite bossy even more than the leader but it's just because she likes to make things perfect due to her perfectionist trait. She's very outgoing and likes meeting new people.
