- The plant then leaned forward and spit. Orbs of the flame Bowser had blasted towards it were fired back down over the six of them, like a burning hot snow.
- And here Robin was on his hands.
- He made a pretty futile gesture to cover himself with one arm, but he was pretty lucky in not getting roasted immediately. Most of the flaming spheres were coverage, they splashed across the ground, too dry and cracked to burn any further. A few of the trees on the outset of the clearing went up like birthday candles. But for now Robin was lucky.
- Before he quite had a chance to get unlucky, he was saved. There was a blur of orange, and as Robin reluctantly removed the arm from in front of his face, he saw Samus standing in front of him. Shoulder forward, face turned away. A fireball, one that would’ve certainly charred Robin to a crisp, broke against her armor and she grunted out.
- “Gonna kill this dragon,” she growled. “I swear on the sun and moon I will.”
- Robin blinked, still coming to grips with the fact that he hadn’t died.
- “Um… thanks,” he said.
- “Shut up,” she said back.
