    → mia was born kang mijoo in toronto, canada, to a pair of loving parents, who'd been living in canada for years before she was born. mijoo was the second child, born three years after her older brother, and was welcomed to the family with open arms. her mother, kang minseo, or mary, was born in canada herself, and had lived in quebec for most of her life, before moving to toronto for university. her father, kang seojun, or joshua, was a korean immigrant, and had moved to toronto after he graduated in korea, wanting a change of scenery. her parents had met in a bar that her mother worked at, and immediately hit it off. three years later they got married, and started off their family. mijoo lived in toronto for the first eight years of her life, because her maternal grandfather grew sick, and her mother picked up the family to her hometown in quebec to spend time with her father before he passed on. when mijoo's grandfather passed away, the family moved to quebec for good, so that minseo could be close to her mother. mijoo lived out the rest of her childhood years in quebec, going to school there, and picking up the french language. as a child, she'd always been interested in singing, due to her grandmother taking to singing her old french songs before bed. naturally, mijoo wanted to learn, and begged her parents to sign her up for singing lessons so she could improve, on top of the violin lessons she already took. she hadn't really been into kpop until she became a teenager, and one of her close friends introduced her to some groups like SNSD and BIG BANG and SUPER JUNIOR. that was when she began to take a liking to kpop, and decided she wanted to be an entertainer of some sort when she finished school. her parents were adamant that she finish her school years, and refused to let her drop out at any point, telling mijoo that she could go and pursue whatever career she wanted once she graduated. however, when she was sixteen, she attended an sm global audition. she didn't make it through to sm, but she was passed on to bloom entertainment, who saw her potential and offered to take her on as a trainee. mijoo was ecstatic, but her parents were still not keen to let her throw away her education, and eventually let her sign the contract, only after coming to an agreement with bloom that she could continue her high school education in quebec, and only travel to korea in the holidays to continue her training.

    → mijoo graduated from high school in quebec, because despite being scouted when she was sixteen and attending a global audition, she took to flying back and forth between canada and korea in the school holidays to continue her training, before moving to korea after graduating at the age of eighteen.

    → mijoo is content with the education that she has, because even if she doesn't have any school qualifications in south korea, she does qualify for universities in quebec, and if her idol career goes down the drain, she knows she can just go back to quebec.

SECTION THREE: INCEPTION.

» |PERSONALITY:
    → the word that literally sums up mijoo as a whole is "clueless". mijoo never has any idea what is going on at all, and is oblivious by nature. mijoo is probably the most protected member because of this. she is always way behind other people, in terms of keeping up to date with the news, and usually only hears about scandals months after they happen ("hey, di you know that so and so was involved in a dating scandal?" "mijoo, that happened four months ago.") people often compare her to a deer in the headlights, due to her innocent and doe like expressions. she hates being put on the spot, and is likely to clam up if you suddenly push her into the spotlight with no prior warning. she isn't very good at giving speeches of any kind, mostly because she has a bad memory, and can never remember her lines. if there's a member that's on stage and suddenly trials off because they can't remember what to say next, that's mijoo hands down. she is content to let her group mates take the spotlight whenever they're accepting awards. she hates anything that's scripted, and tends to get overly stressed out, so she doesn't mind just standing in the background and waving or doing aegyo. she is the low-key mother of the sugar unit, and tends to fuss over the other members, making sure they all eat and get enough sleep. as one of the eldest in the unit, she feels like it is her job to look after them, even though she tries to tone it down a little bit so she doesn't piss the other members off. usually, she tries to keep an eye on them from afar, and indirectly make sure they're okay, because she doesn't want to push any boundaries the group already has. mijoo is also an incredibly clumsy person. not cute clumsy, but scary clumsy, because she often ends up with bruises and scratched on her arms and legs that the stylists have to cover up with makeup. she has a habit of breaking things all the time, just by looking at them, and she's the main reason why the other girls are too scared to buy or leave valuable things around the dorm, because of mijoo's reputation for destruction. she should never be left unattended, because that is just asking for a disaster. you leave her alone at the dorm, and you'l be lucky if the place hasn't burnt down because she's found someway to accidentally blow up the microwave. she is horrible with technology, and can barely use her phone past playing games and calling people on it, and sometimes doesn't even know how the change the channel on the dorm tv (if they have one). she also has an extremely short attention span, so the other group members usually have to keep an eye on her at all times while moving through airports to make sure she doesn't wander off or get lost (honestly, they've debated tying her wrist to someone else's before just to make sure she doesn't disappear.) she is a very optimistic person, and is always the type to try and cheer people up (even if it makes them feel worse more often than not). she always manages to find a bright side of every thing. been dumped by your longtime partner? don't worry, mijoo can find something. just lost an important family heirloom? mijoo is to the rescue to make you feel better (probably worse) about it. honestly, she just wants everyone else to be happy, and doesn't want them to have to deal with any horrors in life. she considers herself fortunate to have had a pretty good childhood, and she just wants to make sure no one has to suffer ever. she is very patient, and never ever seems to get pissed off at anyone. there are very few people who have actually seen her completely flip her shit, and while she is very good mannered, if you push her past her limits she won't hold back, and become the complete opposite. she is also very persevering, and it is a trait that she finds admirable. she will never give up, no matter what, and will always keep trying until she achieves what she wants, even if it takes her five years to accomplish it. she is also insanely competitive, especially once you set her off. she likes to win, and will do whatever it takes to win, and will even turned to cheating if she's desperate. basically, do not set off her competitive nature, and try to steer her away from sports, because she tends to get overly competitive over it.

SECTION FOUR: I NEED U BACK.

» | VARIETY SKILLS:
    → honestly, mijoo is perfectly happy for her group mates to take the spotlight during variety shows, and never really takes the initiative to step out, unless she's prompted by her group mates or the mcs. she feels comfortable on variety shows (as long as they don't have scripted lines that she has to say word for word, because it stressed her out), and she seems to have a natural talent for them, as her clueless nature is amusing to the viewers, as she is always way behind and never seems to know what is going on. she isn't the extra type who goes out of her way to make other people laugh, but is more so the person who makes people laugh without actually meaning to (and often doesn't actually know why they are laughing in the first place, since she wasn't trying to be funny).

    → she kind of wants to go on RUNNING MAN, simply because of her competitive nature. if she could go on something like running man, i think she'd be really determined to win. she also really wants to go on RETURN OF SUPERMAN, because of her love for little kids, and she religiously watches the show (idk if counts as variety though). but she wouldn't really be picky about what variety shows they were put, and usually just tends to go with it.

    → doesn't really act much different, because she isn't good at pretending to be someone she isn't. she does however try and tone some of the bad bits of her personality down. she usually tries to act like she knows what is going on, even if she is really confused. fans have started to pick up on her clueless nature, and have dubbed her the "blonde" member of the group, and mijoo isn't really sure how to feel about that. however, she fits the group's concept quite easily, so people don't question why she was put into the sugar unit. she leaks of natural cuteness without even trying. she also tries to act like she's less clumsy, and tries to avoid causing any accidents on stage (that doesn't mean she's always successful.)

    → she just acts like her real self, and doesn't bother to hide anything. the way she sees it, if fusion is successful, they're going to have to spend a lot of time together, and mijoo doesn't want to start building up relationships based on fake information. she never ever pretends to be someone she's not, and honestly find it too tiring anyway.
