>Midnight detention.
>You and Merula arrive separately at Hagrid’s cabin on the edge of the Forbidden Forest.
>She desperately averts eyes.
>Hagrid is standing next to a 3 headed dog the size of a pickup truck.
>”Professor Snape filled me in on ye delinquents. Yer punishment will be to accompany me and Fluffy here, she’s only a puppy so don’t worry yer little heads about her bitin you or nuffin.”
>Merula looks up that the giant 3 headed dog. “that... thing, is a puppy?”
>”She’s a beaut aint she? Anywho we’re going to patrol the forest with me to look fer whatever it is thats spookin the centaurs out there. Come on then, off we go.”
>You and Merula are walking silently on the left and right sides of Hagrid respectively, with fluffy pulling her leash at a hearty pace.
>”Fluffy! Calm down you blasted dog.” Fluffy catches the scent of something and dashes deeper into the forest, dragging Hagrid along with him.
>You and Merula are now alone in the Forbidden Forest.
>”Don’t walk so close to me anon, you’re creeping me out.”
>You’re the one with the lamp Merula.
>She hesitates, and sighs. “fine, just… don’t get too chummy with me… I don’t want that game of sp-p-spin the bottle getting to your head.”
>She then whispers “I still hate you… sort of...”
>You ignore her warning and take a step closer to her “Hey does it seem colder to you?”
>She looks to you, her angry eyebrows furrowed, but lessens as she thinks. “Yeah it is colder, what are we looking for exactly?”
>You smile, “I dunno, but whatever it is it must be really terrifying if it is ‘spooking those centaurs.”
>All sounds of wildlife have stopped. The air becomes icy cold.
>A cloaked figure floats across your path about 20 feet away.
>you whisper to her “What was that?”
>”what was what? don’t try making anything up to scare me. I’m not a coward like you.” Her voice shakes just a little, maybe its the cold.
>It crosses your path again, closer. Now Merula sees it.
>”I-I-I that was a dementor!” She whispers harshly.
>She steps in front of you and raises her wand at the cloaked figure.
>”Expecto Petroleum!” nothing happens. The cloaked figure approaches.
>she cries, “Why won’t it work?!?”
>You scream and put yourself inbetween Merula and the cloaked figure.
>You cast “Flipendo!” and the cloaked figure flips backward and falls over a log.
>you grab Merula’s hand and sprint back to Hagrids cabin.
>You and merula wait at the cabin sitting very closely.
>”Its only because the fire died down” You drape your cloak over both of your shoulders.
>”Thank you.” she pouts.
>Hagrid arrives completely worn out, with fluffy carrying a goose in each head.
>The next day at potions class you notice that Professor Snape is walking with a very serious limp.
