  1. EDIT: Feb 9
  2. I'm in the process of story-boarding this thing, beginning to end. I may do this in chapters, each chapter being a whole day or something, until the week is over, but it depends. I also may rewrite this intro or at least revise it a bit. I do intend to finish this, just give me some time.
  3. ---------------
  4.
  5. >A young Anonymous fights with Scootaloo and trashes the library so Twilight magically glues them together for a week so that they can learn to get along.
  6. (Yes I changed the title to this, thanks to the Anon that suggested it in the thread)
  7.
  8. This is either going to be a really long one-shot or a short story
  9. Currently this is the introduction
  10. The remainder of the story will probably be posted in small updates in the thread as I write them
  11. Feedback always welcome as this is something completely new for me
  12.
  13.
  14.
  15. >Today was like any other Saturday in P0nyville
  16. >The best part was that you had two days of no school
  17. >But it was a nice day too. The sun was shining, sky clear of clouds, a warm gentle breeze shifting through the town
  18. >Not like you cared though, because the 'real' best part of today was that the resident librarian told you she'd be getting the new Daring Do book in this morning
  19. >So, needless to say, you were off to see Twilight Sparkle!
  20. >It was still early in the morning, you had all day to get your hands on that book
  21. >But if you get it now, you'd have all day to read it! And all day tomorrow!
  22. >Oh yeah. You just had to get this book, and right now
  23. >Jogging through town, your heart was set on that amazing adventure novel and your eyes fixed on the giant tree that was the library that contained it
  24. >Finally, you've made it!
  25. >Wasting no time, you open the door, prepared to bombard Twilight with demands for that book
  26. >What you walk in to see, however, throws your joyful mood out the window and lights it on fire
  27. >It was Scootaloo, a filly you went to school with
  28. >You think she's an orphan, but you don't really know
  29. >There's kind of a rivalry going on between the two of you though
  30. >You're not really sure if you actually hate her, but-
  31. >...wait, yeah you totally hate her
  32. >Why wouldn't you anyway?
  33.
  34. >"Anonymous!" she scowls in surprise, turning to look at you as you walk in the door
  35. "Scootaloo!" you respond in the same fashion
  36. >"We meet again." she says, now glaring at you while you return the favor
  37. >You don't remember what started all this, but that didn't matter anymore
  38. >The two of you hated each other, that's all that mattered
  39. >Honestly it was actually kinda fun
  40. >And oh did you really hate her now, because she was here at the library at the same time you were!
  41. >Not only that, but Spike was handing her a book
  42. >And it looked like-
  43. >No... it couldn't be...
  44. >It was! She was about to take the new Daring Do book!
  45. >Well not if you have anything to say about it!
  46. "Unhoof that book you four-legged chicken!" you shout to her while pointing at the object of your desire and taking a stance that would make Phoenix Wright proud
  47. >"Never! I checked it out fair and square, so beat it you monkey!" Scootaloo retorts in defiance, grasping the book tight between her two front hooves
  48. "Twilight said I could have it today!"
  49. >"Well too bad, I got here first, so you'll have to wait until I'm finished with it!"
  50. >No way, waiting was out of the question!
  51. >You both knew what was about to happen
  52. >And yet neither of you cared
  53. >Well, at least you didn't care
  54. >All you wanted was that book, and you were going to have it!
  55. >The two of you got into arguments, little squabbles, and some times actual fights from time to time
  56.
  57. >It never really got out of hand and neither of you ever got very hurt or anything, which is mostly why nobody paid too much attention to it
  58. >Today, however, the situation is different
  59. >With the most fierce battle roar you could muster, you charge at the filly, taking a dive when you're within range
  60. "Give it to me!"
  61. >Unfortunately, she seemed prepared, and hops back just in time to avoid your dive
  62. >"No way!"
  63. >It all looked good in your head;
  64. >You'd dive for her, snatch up the book out of her hooves, high-tail it out the door and be on your way. She wouldn't know what hit her!
  65. >Alas, it was too good to be true, because instead you're lying on the floor, face planted into the bottom of a book-shelf
  66. >And of course, random books on the shelf above you decided it'd be fun to fall onto your head and back
  67. >The moment you hear Scootaloo giggle, you quickly sprout up from your prone position, grasping a couple random books in your hands in anger
  68. >Good thing she's still giggling, because now she can't see the random book making a trip through the air and into her face
  69. >Scoots recoils back as the flat cover of the book smacks her face and tumbles to the ground
  70. >After gently rubbing her snout with a hoof, she glares hard at you and prepares herself
  71. >Before you give her a chance, you pitch the other book in your hands at her
  72. >This time, she's ready, as she swats the projectile away with the book she's still holding
  73. >The Daring Do book!
  74.
  75. >How DARE she use that as a shield!
  76. >Seeing as you're still really close to her, you take another charge at her
  77. >Unfortunately for you, she's ready for it again
  78. >Scoots jumps into the air and flutters her wings as best she can; which isn't good enough to keep her airborne for more than few seconds
  79. >But it allowed her to kick one of her back hooves forward and into the side of your head, causing you to tumble into another book shelf, of course
  80. >Thankfully, you were able to recover quick enough to step back toward her and grab that same hoof
  81. >"H-hey, let go!" she demands as you pull her toward you then began to swing her to the side
  82. "Okay!" you respond after completely swinging around and releasing her
  83. >Scootaloo soars into a nearby table in the center of the room as it splinters into pieces
  84. >"Oh, oowwwwwww-" she retorts, rubbing the top her head with a hoof
  85. >The book. She's not holding it
  86. >Where is- there!
  87. >The instant you spot the book on the ground shortly past where Scootaloo made her crash-landing, you sprint straight for it
  88. >With your eyes fixed on your prize, you don't notice Scoots stick a hoof out as you run past her, tripping you onto the floor face-first
  89. >Ooooh, that hurt
  90. >After slowly pushing yourself up and sitting on your knees, you take a hand to your nose to make sure it's still in one piece
  91. >Feels like it, but you also felt and smelled some blood
  92. >Okay, that's it, she was gonna pay!
  93.
  94. >Looking around, you see Scootaloo standing on the other side of the damaged table, grasping the book in her front hooves
  95. >"Why won't you just leave me alone monkey? Don't you see what you're doing here?"
  96. "What I'M doing!? You started it by taking MY book!"
  97. >"It's not YOUR book, I told you I checked it out!"
  98. "But Twilight said I could have it today!"
  99. >"Yeah, but I got here first, so it's mine for now! Deal with it."
  100. >And now she's sticking her tongue out at you
  101. >Uh-oh, now she's done it
  102. >You reach for the closest object on the ground to swing at her, which just so happened to be a broken leg of the table
  103. >Scoots jumps out of your reach and becomes momentarily airborne
  104. >In a little fit of rage, you toss the table leg at her with glorious failure
  105. >The leg flys past her and through a front window of the house, shattering it of course
  106. >Oh, that's not good
  107. >Actually... come to think of it, this is probably going to end bad for both of you
  108. >Taking a short pause from the action, you scan around the room and survey the damage
  109. >Broken window, wrecked table, and a couple damaged book shelves with a good deal of various books fallen onto the floor in front of them
  110. >Not a whole lot of damage, but enough to get you in some serious trouble
  111. >You better end this, and quick
  112. >Strangely, Spike wasn't anywhere to be seen
  113. >Upon noticing you taking a look around the room, Scoots had started doing the same thing
  114.
  115. >And now she was standing on the ground, no longer in the air
  116. >She isn't paying attention, so you quietly step up and snatch the book from her hooves
  117. >"Ah- no!" she says as she quickly reacts and grabs the book back
  118. >You were both doing your best to take the book for yourselves, essentially playing tug-of-war with each other
  119. >The two of you were so focused on getting a hold on the book that you didn't hear the front door open
  120. >The first thing you noticed was a violet aura form around the book as it levitates out of your grasp
  121. "Hey, what gives!?" you shout in anger
  122. >Then you both notice Twilight Sparkle standing in the doorway, sporting a terrifying 'I'm-going-to-murder-you' look in her eyes
  123. >Oh man, this isn't good
  124. >No way were you getting out of this one easy
  125. >But maybe, just maybe she'll listen to you, and remember that she said you could have the book, and not Scootaloo
  126. >Yeah, then she'll have to give you the book!
  127. >She did say that after all, so it only makes sense, right?
  128. >Twilight closes her eyes momentarily and takes a deep breath, no doubt to dissipate some of her rage
  129. >"So... would you two care to explain this?"
  130. "She tried to steal my book!"
  131. >"I got here and checked it out first, so he was trying to steal it from me!"
  132. "Twilight said I could have it! ...Right Twilight?"
  133. >T:"Yes, I did, but I didn't mean it was yours. You'd have to come here and check it out like anyp0ny else."
  134.
  135. >S:"So that means it's mine for now, right? Since I checked it out?"
  136. >T:"Normally I would say yes, but because the both of you turned my house into a battlefield, neither of you are getting it."
  137. "What!?"
  138. >S:"What!?"
  139. "No fair!"
  140. >S:"Yeah, I was only defending myself from him, I didn't cause any of this!"
  141. >T:"Defending yourself? Is that why Anonymous has a bloody nose?"
  142. >S:"I- he tripped!"
  143. "Yeah, over a hoof you threw under me!"
  144. >S:"Well, that's what you get for throwing me into a table!"
  145. >T:"Okay, that's enough out of you two!" Twilight interrupts, acquiring the full attention of you and Scootaloo
  146. >T:"I know you two get into little arguments and scuffles a lot, but this is way over the line. How about you both start by cleaning up the books littered around the floor while I look something up?"
  147. >She was still glaring at you and Scootaloo
  148. >Even though she technically asked you to do it, you pretty much had to
  149. >There was no getting out of this
  150. >Darn that filly, always ruining your day!
  151. >As you and Scoots begin picking up books and stacking them in piles, Twilight pulls out a spell book of some kind and begins searching through it
  152. >This didn't look good
  153. >She was looking for something specific, that much was certain
  154. >But what could it be?
  155. >Was she going to punish you for what you did? Even if you help clean and fix everything?
  156. >No, this didn't look good at all
  157.
  158. >This wasn't something you wanted to think about anymore, so you just tried to focus on the cleaning up
  159. >Eventually, you both were done with your own areas
  160. >Twilight notices and stands up, closing the spell book she had
  161. >"Done? Good. I have something for you two."
  162. >She's grinning madly
  163. >Oh no, this definitely won't end well
  164. >S:"Wh-what is it?" Scoots asks hesitantly
  165. >T:"I'm glad you asked Scootaloo! You both fight way too often, and I think you need to learn to get along with one another, as well as respect other p0nies property. Therefore you're going to be spending a whole lot of time together."
  166. "Uh, what do you mean by that? I don't wanna spend any time with her!"
  167. >S:"Yeah, can't we just say sorry and not do this anymore?"
  168. >T:"That's something you should have done before today, but now it's not enough. I'm not going to ask you two to become best friends, but you at least need to learn to get along and stop this mindless fighting. And I have the perfect solution!"
  169. >Her horn begins to glow, causing expressions of fear to spread across both you and Scootaloo
  170. >Within moments, you feel yourself lift into the air
  171. >Oh crap, what is she doing!?
  172. >S:"Whoa, what the-"
  173. >Looking over, you notice Scootaloo is airborne as well
  174. >You also notice the violet magic aura surrounding both of you
  175. >No... nonononono not good!
  176. >You both freak out as you see yourselves inching closer to each other
  177. "Twilight, what are you doing!? This is evil!"
  178.
  179. >She simply responds with a giggle, continuing to force you and Scootaloo closer and closer together
  180. >By now your arms and legs are flailing as wildly as humanly possible, but it's not getting you anywhere
  181. >Stupid magic!
  182. >When your faces become just inches apart, you begin turning around until your backs are facing each other
  183. >S:"What the- Just what are you doing Twilight!?"
  184. >Suddenly you feel Scootaloo's back press flat up against yours
  185. >Your flailing stops as you're now just confused
  186. >Really, really confused
  187. >You feel a little tug on your back, all around where you can feel Scootaloo up against you, then you are both lowered to the floor
  188. >Twilights' aura finally fades from around you and you don't waste a single second standing up and turning to face her
  189. >S:"Whoa, hey, what the heck are you doing!?"
  190. >...What
  191. >You could still feel Scootaloo on your back as you're standing up
  192. >Seriously, wat
  193. >S:"Let me down!"
  194. >Twisting your neck and head back as far as you can, you notice that Scootaloo indeed has her back up against yours still
  195. >Funny, she seems to be stuck to you, and you can feel her, but she seems to be weightless
  196. >Huh. You can only imagine what it feels like for her
  197. >Actually, this is kinda funny to see her stuck like this, fidgeting around like she is right now
  198. >But having her stuck to YOU totally sucks
  199. "Twilight, what is this? What did you do to us!?"
  200.
  201. >T:"I said you two would be spending a lot of time together didn't I?" she responds with another giggle "Consider it a very valuable lesson in friendship. A lesson I expect you both to have learned by the time I get back from Canterlot."
  202. "Wha- Canterlot? When will you be back then?"
  203. >T:"I'm not sure, I have a lot to do, but probably next weekend at the latest."
  204. "NEXT WEEKEND!?"
  205. >S:"NEXT WEEKEND!?"
  206. "Twilight, you can't be serious! I can't stand being around her for a few minutes, but a whole week?"
  207. >S:"Yeah Twilight, for once I agree with Anonymous, this is insane!"
  208. >T:"Well, if you both play nice and get along, maybe I'll have somep0ny like Rarity remove the spell early. But you'll have to prove to her and anyp0ny else that you've learned your lessons. Fluttershy and Ms. Cheerilee will especially be watching you two, so if they tell me anything negative, then you'll just have to wait longer."
  209. "Ugh, this is stupid!"
  210. >S:"Yeah, it was just over a book anyway."
  211. >T:"Now that's the stupid part. All of this fighting today, and damage caused to my property, over a single book that you two just couldn't share, or have patience for the other to finish first."
  212. >As angry as you were, she was right
  213. >You scoff, not giving her any response
  214. >T:"Well, now that that's out of the way, I have to get going. Spike will watch over the library, and he can send letters to me in case you absolutely need something."
  215. "Hey, what about the Daring Do book?"
  216.
  217. >T:"Rainbow Dash will be looking after that while I'm gone. She knew you wanted it and agreed to wait until you were finished, but because of this I'm going to give it to her on my way out of town."
  218. >S:"Aw, no fair! I checked it out!"
  219. >T:"And you can have it as soon as you've learned your lesson and Rainbow is done with it. Who knows, be nice and maybe she'll let you have it early?"
  220. "Alright alright, I think we get the point."
  221. >T:"Good! Now run along, I have some extra work to do now before I leave because of you two."
  222. >Wow, she may be talking as nice as usual, but she sure is being pretty mean about this
  223. >It probably is a good idea to get out of there though
  224. >But this sure is gonna suck, having your rival four-legged chicken magically strapped to your back for a week
  225. >Seriously, what kinda torture is this!?
  226. >Whoa, what the-
  227. >Suddenly you feel a light breeze along your sides
  228. >Shortly after you notice Scootaloo is flapping her wings as hard as she can
  229. >She kicks both of her hind hooves back as best she can, connecting with your ankles and knocking you backward
  230. >S:"Ah-ha, freedom!"
  231.
  232. >Well, seems like Scootaloo is on the ground now, because you're lying perfectly across her back as she begins running for the door
  233. >Thankfully she makes it out without wanging your head or anything on the door frame
  234. >There's apparently going to be a constant struggle for power, as you're now trying to flip Scoots over and gain control once again
  235. >Man, this was going to be the longest week of your life
