  1. Papyrus really loved puzzles. And the thing with puzzles was that they were everywhere if you just looked.
  2.
  3. Some people didn't like puzzles. He didn't understand why, but he begrudgingly accepted it, because that left more for him.
  4.
  5. He had even set up a webpage for people to submit their unwanted puzzles so he could send back the solution.
  6.
  7. Puzzles turned out to be harder than he thought. In the underground he had mostly been making them, not solving them, and to his great surprise, solving them might be the harder of the two. Still, he persevered, and got better and better.
  8.
  9. He was getting the hang of these "math tests," whatever they were. And yesterday someone sent him a picture of a jigsaw puzzle and with the deft use of an image manipulation program he was able to reconstruct the picture.
  10.
  11. The puzzle that caught his passion today was a new kind.
  12.
  13. "Design a route to get goods from point A to point B, without passing through customs points C, D or E."
  14.
  15. It came with a map of Mount Ebott and the surrounding area. What a coincidence!
  16.
  17. "I have marked two entrances into Mount Ebott," he wrote back. "The one on the west side has a steep drop, so you should use a pulley system, or make sure the goods can be safely dropped!"
  18.
  19. He congratulated himself on a job well done.
