- Pact of Malsumis
- You have made a pact with the god of inconveniences and thorns. In hindsight, this may have been a poor decision.
- Aura of Misfortune
- Beginning at first level, you are surrounded by ill-fate. Creatures which enter or begin their turn within 10 ft of you must roll a d4 and subtract the number rolled from the attack roll or saving throw. This also affects you.
- Strife
- At 1st level, Malsumis provide you with a supply of supernatural chaotic energy called strife, which you can use to twist luck in a variety of ways. You gain a number of strife points equal to one third your level (Minimum 1). You regain any expended points when you finish a short or long rest.
- As long as you have at least one strife point, you are immune to the effects of your own Aura of Misfortune.
- Maledictions
- Rather than additional spells, your most potent power lies with the ability to misplace your own misfortune upon others. These powers are called maledictions and are powered by your strife points.
- At 1st level, you gain one malediction of their choice. You learn additional maledictions at 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th levels.
- You cannot select an individual malediction more than once.
- Harrowing Smite
- At 6th level, you can bring an enemies misfortune crashing upon them all at once. As an Attack action, you can spend one of your strife points to make a special attack called a Harrowing Smite. When you make this attack, add your charisma modifier to the attack roll, and you add 2d8 Necrotic damage.
- Discord
- At 10th level, creatures that team up to attack you find that they impede each other more than they help. If more than one opponent threatens you, they all suffer disadvantage on attack rolls made against you.
- Malevolence
- At 14th level, you’ve learned how to ensure maximum inconvenience. Whenever you or a creature you can see critically fails a roll, you may impose a Malediction without expending Strife points. Additionally, when you use a Harrowing Smite attack, you may make an additional Harrowing Smite as a bonus action.
