  1. RosenkrantzGM IT IS THE 41ST MILLENNIUM...
  2. RosenkrantzGM With the gift Annais so generously provided you with, all that is required is a way to fill out the inspection papers convincingly enough to give you entry into a warehouse used primarily by the Starfares Emporium -the entity which you have been informed acts as an intermediary for Sunnit and his crew between unloading and selling of their cargo.
  3. RosenkrantzGM With this in mind, you make your way to the Consequence, where you are certain to find a busy inspector eyeing the cargo as it leaves and enters the belly of your Voidship.
  4. Josef "Do we have the means to get the seal of approval?"
  5. Baine_Mort "Its going to be tricky, but I think we should be able to."
  6. RosenkrantzGM Various crew, from servitorized husks of Footfall, to those wearing the Consequence's colors, all busily carry out their duties getting things to and from the ship.
  7. Baine_Mort "Though I'm not sure how to do it legitimately."
  8. Baine_Mort "We should contact the captain for help I think."
  9. Josef "The options in our inquiry is limited. We will need the assistance of our Lord-captain."
  10. Baine_Mort +Bridge, this is Mort, Is the Lord-Captain there?+
  11. RosenkrantzGM +Not presently, Master Mort. You might find him near the Navigator's Tower, discussing chart renewal with the Grandier staff.+
  12. Baine_Mort +Ok thanks we will head there then, Mort out+ "Welp lets head there then Josef." Mort starts making his way to the Navigator's Tower.
  13. Josef "'Welp?' This term doesn't exist in my diction." He follows behind the void-born.
  14. RosenkrantzGM A few Levatus rides, and some amount of walking later, and you find yourselves in a section of the ship where the armsmen wear different colors, and you almost feel like you are on another voidship. Indeed, the Navigators jealously guard all that is theirs, and their sense of identity is always displayed as a reminder that they are allies rather than servants.
  15. RosenkrantzGM Soon enough, however, you are at the same reception area where the Lord-Captain has been received. Vast charts are displayed, and a discussion on appropriate paths and travel times seems to be going on.
  16. RosenkrantzGM "With respect, Captain, to not make a stop into realspace here, would add possibly years to our travel time. The Warp is simply too unstable in this area."
  17. RosenkrantzGM A remembrancer-scribe dutifully notes every word uttered with an autoquil.
  18. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "With respect Mr....Gurend isn't it? I do believe that area to be rather infested with all sorts of criminal agencies, and would rather not risk an engagement." he says, looking drawn and slightly irritated
  19. RosenkrantzGM Before the Grandier scion can retort, he turns, looking over the Captain's shoulder, "Welcome," he says with a nod.
  20. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz Turns to see the men enter, and a brief look of relief shines across his face "Mort! Josef! thank the Emp...." he says, adding the last bit under his breathe "How may I help you?" he adds as he leaves his seat and quickly makes his way over
  21. Josef "We have run... into a 'situation', Lord Captain."
  22. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "A bit vague, shall we speak in a more private setting?"
  23. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz motions to two nearby house guard to escort them
  24. Josef "That would be recommended. It is concerning an order from our Lord Admiral Wilhelm."
  25. RosenkrantzGM With that, the Grandier scion nods to his aides, who clear the charts and begin to put everything away. No doubt a discussion to be picked up again at a later date.
  26. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "My most honorable Uncle, he has always been my favorite of the family. You should have seen what things he would bring me as gifts when I was younger..." he says, rubbing his temples and closing his eyes
  27. Baine_Mort "Yes, well lead the way Lord Captain."
  28. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Let us head to my chambers." he says more to the guard than anyone else
  29. Josef follows the Lord Captain to his chambers.
  30. Baine_Mort follows the captain.
  31. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz Quickly whisks the men to his chamber, asks the guard to stand watch, and quite firmly bolts it shut and sits down
  32. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "It seems as if I never get a second to myself anymore." he says, before picking up a bottle of strangely colored alcohol and pouring a glass
  33. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Now tell me, what's this issue?'
  34. Baine_Mort "Earlier today Lord Admirl Wilhelm asked Josef and myself to search for medicals supplies for the Planet we found two months ago, so we searched and ended up making contact with Lady Lucrezia's spys and we were give information about a warehouse that a group of pirates are using to store a large amount of medical supplies and we do have a way in, but we need to get a seal of...
  35. Baine_Mort ...approval first before we can proceed to "Acquire" the medical supplies from these pirates." Mort then hands Friedrich the parchment.
  36. Josef "The amount of words in Mort's explanation has suppressed his daily average."
  37. Baine_Mort "Thank you Josef!"
  38. Josef "You are welcome."
  39. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "And how may I help you with this task?" he says, looking over the paper
  40. Baine_Mort "We need to get the seal of approval so that we can pose as Inspectors to go into the warehouse and locate the medical supplies, but we don't know how to get one legitimately."
  41. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Can it not be forged?"
  42. Baine_Mort "Yes, that is possible but we were trying to do it Legitimately first."
  43. Josef "The paradox is... interesting. Legally taking stolen goods."
  44. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Let me see if I can... convince our good inspector to give us a hand." he says, standing a stretching
  45. Baine_Mort "Or we could just knock him out."
  46. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Tact Mr.Mort, Tact." he says, slightly amused
  47. Josef "Pain is a good motivator for cooperation."
  48. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz sends our a small army of servants in search of the Inspector
  49. RosenkrantzGM Soon enough, a ludicrously-dressed man is escorted to you.
  50. RosenkrantzGM "An audience, Captain? A delay in my duties will result in further fees, I do remind you."
  51. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "My dear fellow, I humbly apologize! please sit and have a drink." he says, motioning to a plush couch nearly surrounded with different assortments of Alcohol
  52. RosenkrantzGM "I... certainly. Certainly" his eyes dart about. He's likely never seen a variety such as this. His life is worth less than the collection of alcohols, and he knows it.
  53. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz takes a seat and leans back, still smiling a disarming smile "So what do you think of The Consequence?"
  54. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz pours a large glass from the decanter in front of him, Although he had previously made sure it was non-alcoholic
  55. RosenkrantzGM He looks up, not having expected this line of questioning, "I... well, she's a fine vessel."
  56. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "And help yourself to anything you see! I laid it out for you."
  57. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "And I do hope my crew has been treating you respectfully?"
  58. RosenkrantzGM "Well, yes, Captain. Just fine. But... I must ask. What is this audience about?"
  59. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz picks up the decanter again, and pours himself another large glass, before pouring another glass for the Inspector out of a different, more eloquent Bottle
  60. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "I have need of a favor my friend, and I think you have the means to lend me a hand." he says, flashing a white smile
  61. RosenkrantzGM He half-nods, taking a sip of the drink.
  62. RosenkrantzGM He jerks his head back slightly, and clicks his tongue, taking in the taste and texture.
  63. RosenkrantzGM He takes another sip, and puts the glass down.
  64. RosenkrantzGM "What sort of, er, favor?"
  65. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Well it has come to my attention that a dynasty warehouse is infested." he says, a deep frown settling upon his face
  66. RosenkrantzGM He looks down and swipes through his dataslate.
  67. RosenkrantzGM "Which warehouse would be needing service?"
  68. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz takes another large drink, before filling his glass again, and then puts the eloquent bottle closer to the Inspector
  69. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Not here, my friend, elsewhere."
  70. RosenkrantzGM He stops, looking up again with a puzzled look on his face.
  71. RosenkrantzGM "Captain, I have limited jurisdiction."
  72. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Oh i completely understand that, This warehouse of my family is infested with not just any sort of pest, but the worst kind."
  73. RosenkrantzGM "I don't understand, Captain. What is it you want from me?"
  74. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz sighs, and takes another drink, and pours the Inspector another glass
  75. RosenkrantzGM Looking slightly uncomfortable, be pushes his glass away from him a few centimeters, waiting for an answer.
  76. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Corruption I'm afraid has taken hold, and I'm attempting to root this out."
  77. RosenkrantzGM "Captain, I believe you overestimate what a man like myself may have to offer. Your situation is most regrettable. I hope you find a solution."
  78. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "But there is a way you may help me, that would be beneficial for both of us."
  79. RosenkrantzGM "With due respect, Captain, if there is any benefit to this meeting, do please be out with it. I have many duties to attend to," the inspector rises to his feet.
  80. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "You see I need to send in my representatives to root these villains out of our network, but for that I will require a Seal, which you currently posses."
  81. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Me and the whole of the Rosenkrantz Dynasty are willing to reward you handsomely for your cooperation in helping us rid ourselves of this problem."
  82. RosenkrantzGM "I find it hard to believe that someone such as yourself would require such a minute thing from a man like myself. You are clearly... resourceful."
  83. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Of course, but as you are aware, matters of corruption must be dealt with with utmost security, and that is why I need you to help me."
  84. RosenkrantzGM "I know when I'm not being given the full picture, Captain. Don't you forget where I make my living."
  85. RosenkrantzGM He take his seat again.
  86. RosenkrantzGM "However,
  87. RosenkrantzGM "You speak of handsome reward. And I ask, how handsome?"
  88. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "More than you will ever make doing what you are doing now."
  89. RosenkrantzGM "How handsome, you see, determines just how badly my memory will fail me if ever questioned about this encounter -or the seal- in future."
  90. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "I am a man who can acquire many thing, hard money, fine items, women, men, and even support. So I can offer you any of these things. But the most valuable thing I can offer is Dynastic support, There are many people I can speak to on your behalf to elevate your position in life."
  91. RosenkrantzGM "A generous pension, fine clothes, a woman around my arm, servants, and loyal men to protect me a home in the more fine quarters of Footfall... and your family's friendship, of course."
  92. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Then we are agreed."
  93. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz then slides the parchment to the man sitting across from him
  94. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "If you would."
  95. RosenkrantzGM "Gladly."
  96. RosenkrantzGM He makes his mark in several places, and details the need for inspection, finally stamping the form with his seal.
  97. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Now, I'm sure I don't need to remind you that this remains between us."
  98. RosenkrantzGM "I have forgotten already" he rises from his seat.
  99. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz rises and extends a hand "To a long friendship."
  100. RosenkrantzGM The inspector shakes the Captain's hand, "A long friendship."
  101. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz hands the two men the parchment as the man leaves
  102. Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "There you go."
  103. Baine_Mort takes the parchment from Friedrich, "Thank you Lord-Captain, we will be on our way." Mort salutes and makes his leave.
  104. Josef takes makes the sign of the Omnissiah and takes a quick bow before following the Master of Ordnance.
  105. Baine_Mort gathers some guards men to come with them and give one of them his bolt pistol while he keeps his power sword holders. Josef takes his Axe and hide his bold gun under his robes.
  106. RosenkrantzGM Four total Household Guard are seconded as escort. They follow the lead of the 'inspectors' towards the warehouse.
  107. Baine_Mort Mort and Josef then make their way off to the warehouse.
  108. RosenkrantzGM Once arrived, it isn't hard to identify which of the warehouse partitions is the one you're looking for. 'STARFARES EMPORIUM' in large welded letters, followed by the other minor operations that use the warehouse in less conspicuous lettering is displayed above the third of the warehousing partitions, where personell stand guard, checking the ins and outs for every warehouse.
  109. Baine_Mort walk up to the warehouse staff and hand them the parchment.
  110. RosenkrantzGM "What?" the man says, looking up. "Inspection? We had inspections just a week ago!"
  111. Baine_Mort "We have been asked to make another Inspection today. Is that going to be a problem?"
  112. RosenkrantzGM "Listen, I don't know what's gotten into Masewl, but this is starting to hinder business," he emphasises the last point.
  113. Baine_Mort "Look these are my order, lets just get on with this, if you don't make my life difficult then, I won't have to make yours as well." Mort says in response.
  114. RosenkrantzGM He looks at you, then at your escort. And back at you once more, ending this with a sigh.
  115. RosenkrantzGM "Look, just wait here. I have people in there."
  116. RosenkrantzGM He walks in, closing the door behind him.
  117. Baine_Mort waits outside for the man to return.
  118. RosenkrantzGM You can hear the steps of people echo inside.
  119. RosenkrantzGM You also hear the rolling of wheels on the deckplate, and whatever else they are hauling along.
  120. RosenkrantzGM Then, the man emerges once more.
  121. RosenkrantzGM "Well, she's all clear for you now. How long will you be?"
  122. Josef "As long as we need to finish our tasks."
  123. RosenkrantzGM "Right... cunts," he steps aside.
  124. Baine_Mort enters the warehouse ignoring the mans words.
  125. Josef "I will add a lobotomy to your list of upgrades if we ever met again."
  126. Josef follows behind Mort.
  127. RosenkrantzGM Tall, neat stockpiles line the walls around the space, with broader, heavier crates stored in the center. Near the back, neat isles are created by the crates, long and into the darker corners of the warehouse.
  128. Baine_Mort begins looking around the warehouse.
  129. RosenkrantzGM Years of... 'past work experience' have honed Master Mort's abilities to perceive the tell-tale signs of a smuggling operation. Near the center, where the bulkiest of all crates are set, he begins to knock on the piles slightly with the hilt of his sword. A hollow crate is soon identified.
  130. Baine_Mort motions for Josef and the Guards men over to him.
  131. RosenkrantzGM They soon move in for a closer look.
  132. Josef approaches the crate.
  133. Baine_Mort "Josef help me move this crate."
  134. Josef "Of course."
  135. RosenkrantzGM The crate, though bulky, is easily pulled out of place.
  136. RosenkrantzGM Where it once stood, a false deckplate catches your attention.
  137. Baine_Mort reaches out and moves the false deck plate.
  138. RosenkrantzGM Not unlike aboard smuggler ships, an entire compartment is revealed below.
  139. RosenkrantzGM Row after row of crates with the Adeptus Munitorum's seal can be found therein.
  140. Josef "Interesting."
  141. Baine_Mort "Looks like we found the mother load." Mort says to Josef.
  142. Josef "A mother load of what is the question."
  143. RosenkrantzGM Inside are fresh shipments of medicae supplies. Fresh out of supply convoys, no doubt. Sunnit and his men, as the snakeoil salesman told you, is in the business of raiding and selling what is most at a premium out in the Expanse - precious medical supplies.
  144. Baine_Mort motions the guard to get ready to "confiscate" the medical supplies and radios in for more men to come help out.
  145. RosenkrantzGM +How... many men, Master Mort?+ Titus is audibly concerned by the nature of your request.
  146. Baine_Mort +Fifty men and we need four transports, to our location immediately .+
  147. RosenkrantzGM +Subtletly is no longer a concern, I take it. They are on their way now.+
  148. RosenkrantzGM On the far end of the warehouse, broad hangar style doors are opened by the Guard, to allow for the transports to dock and load the cargo.
  149. Baine_Mort +Copy that.+ "Men say heard and guard this, we will be right back." Mort motions for Josef to follow him to the entrance.
  150. Josef walks behind Mort.
  151. RosenkrantzGM "Good, so you are done?" the man impatiently says as soon as you walk out.
  152. Josef "We have found unauthorized material in this storage facility. All material not registered or recorded as listed within the rights of the inspection document is too be confiscated immediately."
  153. RosenkrantzGM "Y... you.. WHAT?!"
  154. Josef "The company must pay a fine for the unauthorized practice along with an additional fees from the transporting of illegal material."
  155. RosenkrantzGM "You are insane! Out of line! I will not allow you to carry this out. I am informing the Emporium of this travesty, this... this CORRUPTION!"
  156. Josef "We have the papers and the authority. If you have a compliant, please inquiry with the proper procedures with the Footfall government."
  157. RosenkrantzGM "This is the last straw for Moross... he's gotten too comfortable in his position. The Emporium will hold him accountable! Just you wait!"
  158. RosenkrantzGM "And you? YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS, TOO!"
  159. RosenkrantzGM Before he can take the next breath to his tirade, he is tackled to the ground by a House Guard.
  160. Baine_Mort "Well then you really do want to make this day more difficult then do you." Mort say to the man.
  161. Josef "That's lobotomy upgrade may come in much sooner..."
  162. RosenkrantzGM "SAY NOTHING MORE, CRIMINAL! NOD YOUR HEAD IN AGREEMENT!" the Guard shouts just an inch from the man's face.
  163. RosenkrantzGM Just as he's told, he nods... and trembles.
  164. Josef prepares his Medicae Mechadendrite with a wicked smile across his face.
  165. RosenkrantzGM Like clockwork, a troupe of half-hundred men start coming in.
  166. RosenkrantzGM You can then hear the docking of the transports inside the warehouse.
  167. RosenkrantzGM The 'confiscation' begins immediately.
  168. Baine_Mort motions for the guards man to get off of the man and to bring him up off the floor.
  169. RosenkrantzGM As the House Guardsman gets up, he lifts the warehouse staff to his feet from under his arm.
  170. Baine_Mort "Look, we are just doing our job, and once we are done we will be out of your way, and you know what, I will forget you threatened an official inspector of footfall and will even wave the fees if you just forget this even happened." Mort says to the man.
  171. RosenkrantzGM "...forget this even happened..." he repeats, with a skeptical look on his face.
  172. RosenkrantzGM "Who the hell are you?"
  173. Baine_Mort walks up next to the man, "See I'm your friend, but him over there, he is not, and you don't want him to be your friend now do you?"
  174. Josef grinds his Mechadendrites and says "Lobotomy is a painless and quick procedure that can be done anywhere or anytime. No charge at all."
  175. RosenkrantzGM "This is theft! Nothing more! Don't you think Moross won't be getting a visit from the Emporium!"
  176. RosenkrantzGM "Do what you want, I am going to make a report on this."
  177. RosenkrantzGM With that, he storms off.
  178. Josef "Let's just do our duty and leave."
  179. Baine_Mort "Yep, lets move out then." Mort says as he then move back inside and heads for the transports.
  180. RosenkrantzGM It takes some more time, but the loading of supplies is finished well before anyone returns to the warehouse. You are soon in the belly of the Consequence with the new supplies, ready to be delivered to Faith, as Lord Wilhelm had ordered.
