more doomed!Sora

Dani crept through her world, cautiously. She still couldn't believe that Sora was on the warpath, but her friends had asked her to be careful.

She passed a corner. A moment later, she blacked out as the blunt side of a fan made contact with her temple.


Dani came to on the quest bed. Sora was standing over her, his expression grim. He reached down towards her chest.

"... ugh... Sora...?"

Sora hesitated, pulled his hand back. "... shit. You're awake. I'm sorry, Dani."

"Sora..." Dani looked up at him with huge puppy eyes. "Why? Why are you doing this?"

"I have to, Dani." Sora put a gentle hand on her shoulder as she tried to sit up, keeping her down. "Please, just... please understand. We need as much power as we can to get through this. And I don't want you guys to have to deal with the problem of ascending. It's hard, okay? It's really hard. I don't want you guys to have to deal with that."

"Sora, please, you can't do this! There's no way this is right and I know you're not this kind of guy!"

Sora's expression darkened. "I've gotta be this kind of guy. We need this sort of power, Dani. We can't die for good. I won't let us."

"Sora...!"

"No more words!" Sora thrust his hand down into Dani's chest, the Life sigil blazing on her skin as he took what was hers. "Go on and hate me! HATE ME!"

Dani's crushed expression faded into something more dull as he wrenched his hand out, releasing the life in his hand. "Sora... you..."

"I'm sorry, Dani. Go ahead and hate me. I know everyone does, and it's okay with me."

"... nah... you're just misguided..."

As she faded on her quest bed, a scream ripped through the air. Sora turned, only to cop a kick to the face. He fell to the ground, and his assailant stepped up next to him.

"YOU FUCKING BASTARD! I THOUGHT YOU LIKED HER!"

Kris screamed at Sora as she pressed her boot into his chest, making him groan in pain. He looked up at her with that same determined expression on his face.

"... Kris. Good to see you using your time powers."

Kris drew a gun and aimed it at Sora's head. "No, fuck you. Don't you even say a word. You're gonna pay for killing everyone. You're gonna pay for killing Dani!"

Sora closed his eyes. "... yeah, I killed them all."

"You only just fucking realised that?!"

"It's weighing on me pretty bad. Honestly, you'd be doing me a favour if you -"

"No shut up FUCK YOU! I don't want to do you any fucking favours, I just want you to die!"

She shot him, then, in the arm. "Slowly!"

As he tried to reach for his arm, she shot his hand. The bullet went through his shoulder. "Painfully!"

She shoved her boot into his gut as she shot another bullet into his side. "You're a fucking murderer!"

Sora coughed blood. Kris stepped off of him and shot him through the kneecaps. She turned away and began walking. "You can just bleed out, you megalomanical bastard."

Sora groaned in pain, curling up into a ball to try and stem his bleeding. But it was a half-hearted attempt at self-preservation. He just laid there as tiny creatures flocked to Dani on her questbed, nestling into her hair and observing her ascension.

His eventual death was just.
