  1. [18:03] Darkness provided ample cover for the raiding squadron as they moved forth. Tenevan stood among the rest of Huangzhou's attacking magi, keeping his place in the rear of the formation. They separated somewhat when they approached the tower, with the Merman taking his own place in the field.
  2.
  3. His spear was in hand as they closed in on the target, and a bone-chilling cold enveloped him. Winds took to his form, providing concealment and protection from arrows and other missiles.
  4.
  5. It didn't take long for him to single out his opponent. His spear-tip was pointed at Alastor, and a wave of noise sent in his direction.
  6.
  7. "Over here, Oscuri!"
  8.
  9. His voice carried over the sounds of battle, fusing into an attack aimed at the man. The Merman moved further away from his own lines, attempting to draw this fellow out to fight.
  10.
  11. There was little else to be said. Tenevan took a battle-stance, kept his weapon braced and started moving forth, flinging spells all-the-while.
  12. (Tenevan)
  13. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14.
  15. [18:05] Alastor seems to be quite carefully moving around. Rieka expands outwardly at each step that he takes, a faint marking left behind at each moment. It seems that the Oscuri himself seeks for an opponent, hand moving to coordinate the attack of Dawn's soldiers carefully.
  16.
  17. Amidst the yelling of orders, his overall blunt attitude and everything else, he finds an opponent. A magi, no less, enough for him to actually put an effort to staining the thing blade of more than non-magi blood. The taunting, of course, helped.
  18.
  19. "MOVE AWAY." He ordered towards the nearby soldiers, before the grip on the Arcanium blade got stronger. Rieka faintly moved around him, shielding from most of the spells that were flung towards him.
  20.
  21. Calm.
  22.
  23. Easy.
  24.
  25. A faint lining of Holy magic covered him, one hand put at his back, the regal position assumed -- Before he charged into battle himself, Rieka trailing right behind him.
  26. (Alastor G. Vishkar)
  27. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  28.
  29. [18:13] The Merman moved forth, slinging out ice and wind, water and sound. Tenevan kept his pace, flinging out spells until the two combatants were at each-others throats.
  30.
  31. Then, as the Oscuri drew green blood from the Sirenian, he realized his error. Tenevan backed off, yet the potency of Rieka was not to be underestimated. Finding it difficult to focus, his retreat turned into a shambling mess.
  32.
  33. He was lucky to come out of it on top, but decided to keep his distance for the remainder of the fight. The Merman continued his assault, now moving in another direction, hoping to keep Alastor running at him all the while.
  34.
  35. The first part of their fight was neck and neck, but there wasn't much time for doubt. He managed to shout out a few words during a lull, before charging in again.
  36.
  37. "I'd know your name if we're to fight, stranger!"
  38.
  39. He wasn't sure he'd be answered, but it might at least serve a distraction nevertheless.
  40. (Tenevan)
  41. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  42.
  43. [18:17] Alastor's brutal advance was halted by a tempest of wind, ice and sounds. Rieka flared even harder, sending a nearly blinding green light on top of the sirenian, perhaps to give him time to retreat and decide whether or not continuing this brutal advance would be a good idea.
  44.
  45. However, Alastor needed the tension on it. His very purple irises turned into a bright green as he glared yet again towards the Sirenian. The grip on the arcanium handle was tightened, before the oscuri took a few deep breaths. Prepare...
  46.
  47. Prepare.
  48.
  49. He needed to prepare.
  50.
  51. Insurmountable force built up on the inside of his very being, charging potently through Rieka. Certainly, he had left his mark -- Perhaps Tenevan would notice now, or maybe soon later. That, truthfully, there were things that he left behind.
  52.
  53. Perhaps just faint green linings on the sirenian's skin, but certainly...
  54.
  55. He was more dedicated onto the fight. "You didn't even tell yours..." He muttered, perhaps too low for Tenevan to hear. But nevertheless, he continued with his own.
  56.
  57. "But mine... REMEMBER THE NAME OF ALASTOR."
  58. (Alastor G. Vishkar)
  59. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  60. [18:28] The Oscuri did in fact reply- that was good.
  61.
  62. As the battle progressed, the Merman's expression changed. Instead of it's normal, calm determination, Tenevan started sporting a grin on his face. During the lulls in their battle, he took the opportunity to shout out a few replies.
  63.
  64. "My name is Tenevan, friend."
  65.
  66. His enthusiasm seemed warranted. The fight progressed in his favour, as Alastor would find himself hard pressed to continue his advance. Whenever the Oscuri got close, he'd be met with a blast of air or water, sending him further and further, and all-the-while, he'd have to endure the biting, chilling cold that seemed to permeate from the Siren.
  67.
  68. "Tenevan, of the Green Coral clan."
  69.
  70. Their dance continued for a time, though it didn't seem as if the Merman was having trouble anymore. Though they'd been neck and neck during the earlier part of their bout, he was moving better now. He was faster, more graceful, and overall more fluent than he'd been earlier.
  71.
  72. It didn't seem as if the Siren had anything more to say, but as the battle continued, one thing became certain.
  73.
  74. Alastor would lose.
  75.
  76. He had a simple choice in front of him, swallow his pride and return to his lines, or continue the struggle and fall to the Merman.
  77. (Tenevan)
  78. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  79.
  80. [18:37] In fact, Alastor was mostly focused on trying to protect himself -- The cutting winds were problematic. The ice, and that ever present sound that ringed around his head, it was so... ANNOYING. The rapier moved to try and deflect most strikes, finding little room to deliver his blows back onto the sirenian.
  81.
  82. The cold was getting to him. The cold was, slowly, forcing him to get overall tired of the fight, muscles beginning to cramp down as he continued. Nevertheless, Alastor continued his strike -- Rieka was shining ever so fiercely outwards, trying to shield him from danger.
  83.
  84. But even if it could deflect all the potentially deadly blows... It couldn't deflect the environmental problems that came from it. The cold, penetrating through him. His aim was shaky, as well as the rest of his body. Tenevan was moving far better, and Alastor...
  85.
  86. Alastor was unfortunately stuck far behind, to his old techniques, and nevertheless, he was nearly able to pull forth. His strikes were piercing and strong, but nevertheless, he was losing.
  87.
  88. A blow would send him far away, and even as he intended to charge back, he was too weak to resist outer forces pulling him away from combat. Outer forces being the soldiers around him making sure that the Paladin would not return.
  89.
  90. But he still yelled from a distance. "TENEVAN OF THE GREEN CORAL CLAN!"
  91.
  92. "I WILL COME FOR YOU! NOT TODAY, MAYBE NOT TOMORROW -- BUT ONE DAY, YOU WILL KNOW. YOU WILL FEEL MY MIGHT ON YOU." He was growing progressively weaker-- And also distant, as he was carried far away, too wounded to continue.
  93.
  94. Swallow his pride?
  95.
  96. Never.
  97. (Alastor G. Vishkar)
  98. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
