Q: What is this game?
A: It's called Dreams. It's a rom hack of FRLG (CFRU) created by MonopolyRubix and recently released in early 2021.

Q: Any notable things about this game?
A: It's made using the Complete Fire Red Upgrade (CFRU) so it features a number of quality-of-life options including Gen 5 repels, Pokemon up to and including Gen 7, Dex Nav, mega evolution, X items give +2 to stats, etc. This hack in particular also features a few FakeMon, an insanely fast bike (think Mach Bike speed sans acceleration - 0 to 100 immediately) as well as an NPC which makes battles inverse battles (which is used a LOT).

Q: What Pokemon will you be using this run?
A: You start with an Eevee, which I will evolve via Sun Stone into Espeon just before the 3rd badge. You're forced to grab a Johto starter early on as well, I grab Totodile since it learns 4 HMs (Cut, Surf, Dive and Waterfall). I'll also catch a Pidove for Fly as well as grab Clefairy from the Game Corner for Strength and Rock Smash (you can catch a Spinda instead, but it's a tiny bit slower and less consistent).

Q: How good is Eevee/Espeon for this hack?
A: Eevee really struggles early even with Adaptability and a lot of STAB moves, but Espeon is very good. STAB Psychic moves are great (Psyshock is incredibly clutch since it deals damage based on Def rather than SpDef). Utility moves like Dazzle Gleam and Signal Beam are very nice as well. The entire run is with inverse battles which makes things a lot smoother.

Q: What stats are you looking for on your Eevee?
A: 10+ neutral Attack (0+ plus), 15+ minus Defense (0+ neutral or plus), 10+ neutral SpA (0+ plus), 9+ minus SpD (0+ neutral or plus) and 10+ neutral Speed (0+ plus) (all IVs). Optimally I get the higher ends of those ranges.

This route is kinda unique in that as Eevee I'll primarily use physical moves, and then almost exclusively use special moves as Espeon. The best natures end up being plus Attack since the Eevee section is quite rough (my last two PBs were both with plus Atk). Plus Speed and plus Special Attack are nice as well.

Q: Is Espeon the fastest option?
A: Could be? Garf runs with Leafeon which is very good with inverse battles and smashes most things pretty easily. I initially saw him run with Leafeon and became intrigued when he mentioned Espeon could be fast as well.

Espeon struggles a bit just after evolving since it has worse moves than Leafeon, and also needs to go out of the way to get Clefairy (Leafeon gets Strength and Rock Smash), but has a much cleaner Elite Four. We both need to optimize our times a bit more until we can confirm.

Q: Goal time?
A: Will mostly be prepping for a marathon, but I may go for a sub-3:25:00.
