  1. Meditation Aid/Method - Unconscious Breathing

  3.
  4. I recently just discovered this, and it has aided my body-calming skills quite sharply, hopefully it should help you too
  5.
  6. The Short version: Avoid actively breathing, make it automatic instead, you'll be really calm doing this.
  7.
  8. -The Long Version-
  9.
  10. during your meditation cycles, usually breathing is a key part of the picture, yet most people make it a direct focus of meditation and assume that they consciously breathe during it.
  11.
  12. However, I've found that making your breathing passive not only calms your body down faster, it also puts you deeper into a trance, particularly if you're aiming for a state of Gnosis.
  13.
  14. to start off unconscious breathing, breathe normally at whatever feels the most comfortable to you, deep breaths are common but optional. when your lungs are either completely empty or full of air, try to avoid consciously breathing. This is part of meditation so this will be different than holding your breath, try to avoid tensing up any muscles, just -let it happen-.
  15.
  16. as of my experiences, an unconscious breath can be verified if it feels "out of sync" with a conscious breathing while meditating, likewise it can also feel "not" like a conscious breath.
  17.
  18. It's okay if you end up forcing a conscious breath inadvertently, within time you can train yourself to breathe without thinking about it during meditation.
