BACKGROUND :
jangmi was always good at what she was doing no matter what it was. she was born to a family of athletes that put constant emphasis on the importance of physical health, so sports was just something that came naturally to her (although she tried her best to avoid exercise unless it was tennis). grades were never a problem for a bookworm like jangmi who, if not chasing a yellow ball across a court, was nose deep into whatever book she could find, whether it be a scifi novel or a history book. she was often complimented over her looks and although a little on the short side, she was still gorgeous nonetheless. in regards to music; even though her family rarely brought up the subject, jangmi was known to have a knack for singing and dancing in her free time. but as perfect as she seemed, her one giant fault was her lack of communication skills. jangmi had always been antisocial right since birth--small, quiet, and always on her lonesome no matter what place or time. for the longest time, she'd even considered her tennis racket as her one and only true friend. it was a true struggle to finally get her talking to people willingly, and an even bigger struggle for her family to force her to join the school's tennis team. while she enjoyed the sport, and even gained some much needed confidence with the help of her teammates, she knew deep down that it wasn't what she truly wanted to do. as crazy as it sounded considering how frightened she seemed to be whenever she was the center of attention, jangmi's dream was to perform. she wanted to sing and dance and show the world what she was truly made of, even if it was at the expense of her social anxiety. so after months of deliberation and receiving love and support from her family and few friends, she finally decided she'd do something about that dream and auditioned for s.m entertainment.

PERSONALITY :
perhaps the only thing jangmi isn't good at is socializing. making small talk, introducing herself to new people, initiating conversation--yeah, no, that's not her. while she's far from the best at expressing herself out loud, she's certainly an amazing listener. she's the perfect person to talk to when you're feeling down, angry, stressed, or any combination of those. usually it takes her a while before she can come up with something to say, but the advice she gives is more often than not pure gold and should always be taken to heart. thanks to being part of a supportive team and having met numerous other trainees while training, she's gotten a lot more confidence in herself and is able to speak much more freely than before. though, it still takes a while to get her to open up. once she does, you'll find that she's one of the sweetest girls you'll ever meet and the wait to get her to open up was definitely not for nothing.

HOW DID YOU TWO MEET? : jangmi was dragged to an nct dream fansign event by a fellow trainee and although she didn't really want to be there in the first place, she couldn't help but fall a little in love with the group. she trained under the same company as they did and she'd heard their music several times, but she'd never really looked into them. she felt a little embarrassed not having anything with her at all during the fansign when everyone else had gifts, albums, letters and all sorts of things. lucky for her, her friend had an extra album on hand. she was still extremely nervous to talk to them though and the first member happened to be jisung, who noticed how much of a bumbling mess she was and comforted her, even holding her trembling hands at some point. thanks to him, she didn't feel like running away and hiding inside a trash can as much as she did before as she continued on to talk to the other members. later on, she bumped into him inside the company and he recognized her immediately, the memory of jangmi practically shaking and adorably stumbling over each of her words still fresh in his mind.
HIS PERSONALITY : he's very sweet and jangmi regards him as somewhat of a comforting presence. he constantly tries to bring up her interests and finds it extremely amusing whenever she brightens up and unconsciously rambles off about her favorite tennis player or about a new book she just read.
