- Well, this game definitely deserves all the attention and praises it gets. Gorgeous graphics, intriguing plot, cinematic third-person dialogues with great animations. It has a big potential.
- Although for now, in early access, it also has a lot of problems. And the biggest one, in my opinion, isn't the bugs, crashes or sometimes messy animations in dialogues, but DnD system as a whole, which makes the game an absolute RNG mess. Endless critical misses and 1hp damage? You got it! And it also feels like it only affects player, but not enemies, cuz they ain't ♥♥♥♥ missing that much. Especially some high level boss-like ones, which can wipe half of your group with one big AOE attack or multiattack.
- Outside of combat RNG doesn't make much sense either. Number of dice rolls in dialogues is out of limits, so F5 will be your favorite button. It just makes you save scum it, you know. Woah, you rolled 1 in persuasion check and because of your failure a little girl died? Well, that sucks, but you're not gonna let it happen, right? What? Your last save was at the beginning of the game? Oh, I'm sure you'll be delighted to replay it!
- I just hope that this system will be somehow fixed or reworked when the game ships, otherwise playing the whole game like this isn't gonna be exactly fun.
- To sum it up, can I recommend this game right now? If you are not a fan of Larian Studios or you don't mind waiting till release, I would say "no" and you should wait.
- Will I recommend it when it's done? I am absolutely sure of this.
