  1. Hey guys!
  2.
  3. I apologize for going on a 2+ week streaming break without giving you guys notice. Work has gotten busy for me this month, and I'm being required to get my CompTIA Security+ certification, so I've been spending most of my time studying and getting everything in order for the holidays (Christmas presents for family/friends, etc.).
  4.
  5. I ended up taking my Security+ exam yesterday (December 20) and failed it, so I will need to take it again. I only gave myself two weeks to cram for it, so I'm going to give myself a lot more time to study the rest of the material before doing my retake. However, I don't expect this to take up all of my free time, so I should be getting back to a stream schedule hopefully after Christmas or so.
  6.
  7. With that out of the way, 2018 is almost here!
  8.
  9. I've been thinking about what speedrunning goals I should set for myself next year, and I've come up with a few interesting ideas. Metroid Prime isn't going anywhere, and I plan on doing a lot with it, but I want to throw in a couple other speedrun goals for myself to introduce some variety.
  10.
  11. So, here are my 2018 speedrunning goals:
  12.
  13. - Go to SGDQ 2018
  14. - Metroid Prime
  15. - Finish 21%
  16. - Sub hour in Any%
  17. - Put together a segmented Any% run
  18. - Sub 1:30 in 100%
  19. - Finish the web randomizer
  20. - Add some much-needed Prime resources (Chozopedia, video tutorials)
  21. - If there's interest, make some videos about Metroid Prime history/tricks
  22. - Start running Metroid Prime 2 Any% or 100% (likely 100% first)
  23. - Pick up another speedgame. Right now I'm considering:
  24. - Paper Mario
  25. - Zelda OOT
  26. - Donkey Kong 64
  27. - Super Mario Odyssey (sellout option)
  28. - Goldeneye 007 ILs (I should probably play this game casually first)
  29.
  30. I'm unsure on what game I'll inevitably pick up. I'm definitely overdue on learning Echoes, and look forward to eventually picking the game up. With Pwootage's menu mod likely coming out in a few months for Prime (or so I think), that should hopefully attract some new runners as well.
  31.
  32. Personally I look forward to what 2018 has to offer. I'm so glad I finally got into speedrunning as a hobby last year, and I'm still hungry to go fast and break games!
