- This category is low% MST. It obtains the following items (22): Deku Sticks, Bottle, Bombchus, Zelda's Letter, Zelda's Lullaby, Boomerang, Mirror Shield, Master Sword, Light Arrows, Magic, Megaton Hammer, Fairy Bow, Quiver, 3 Spiritual Stones, 6 Medallions.
- Explanation of route:
- Sticks are used for many tricks in the run and are more versatile than the Kokiri Sword. A bottle is gotten instead of ocarina because we need to werong warp in the run to skip items. Bombchus are gotten instead of bombs because it is 1 less item. As a result, explosives are finite and there are only 45 to be used for tricks in the run (1 bombchu is used to get a chest). The botw chus at the start are by far the quickest and easiest chest to get, especially with limited items. The only reason to meet Zelda is to get Zelda's Lullaby which is needed to get magic, which is needed to shoot Light Arrows at the end of each trial. Skipping ZLCS is optional here and I opt to not skip it to save a chu.
- The only reason Jabu is done as child is because adult cannot equip swap boomerang because of having no spells and Zelda's Letter. This unfortunately means little QPA opportunities in the run. But seeing as Jabu is meant to be completed as child, there are no issues here.
- The final task of child is to get mirror shield. Adult can do this, but requires hylian shield in order to guay hover to it (check out my MQ low% AD run to see this). Child can get mirror shield with no additional items. Before Spirit, I stop at GTG to get a chu chest. This is done as child because there are song of time blocks in the lava room to be used to climb up. They arwe not here as adult. GTG can technically be done as child and adult with no explosives but it is minutes slower and not worth doing unless you really need to save a chu.
- The child Spirit up to the main room is fairly straightforward. In the main room, a statue climb is performed twice: once to play ZL on the hand for a key chest and once to get to the adult side. After getting to the adult side, it is also fairly straightforward to get to mirror shield. After this, it's time to go adult.
- The goal is to get the 20 chu chest in ganon's castle ASAP because we need the chus as early as possible to use throughout ther run. In ortder to save 8 chus, we want to WW to ganon's castle. This means Deku must be before GC. Then finishing forest puts us directly in front of deku. Then a WW from fire to forest can be used. Finally, on the way to fire we can get magic. Doing all of this is the reverse order minimizes overworld travel. So first goal is magic.
- Starting adult, I dupe fish over an empty c-button. This frees up a bottle for a trick used much later in the run. I also equip master sword. This sets a flag so that my B button won't be blank for a later trick. If you want to save a bombchu, you can clip into darunia's room. I do this in my run, but it is faster to go up the trail. To clip into magic, a triple slash clip is performed to save a chu.
- There are 2 ways to do fire temple: 1/16 health as I do in my run or to use two fairies during the volvagia fight. The latter is pretty difficult (but manageable) and though going through fire on 1/16 health is a bit tough, it makes the volvagia fight trivial. If you want to see the harder version of fire, you can check out zfg's low% mst run or early runs from me. Because we can't equip swap, 3 bombchus must be used on the flare dancer. There is a strat to save 3 chus here if you have boomerang (which I do) but I can't equip it or sticks. As mentioned earlier, a wrong warp is performed to go directly to forest. This skips Minuet.
- In Forest, we need to get the bow before beating the temple. Because I don't have bombs to ground jump with, a death jumpslash I used to get on top of a block. And because no hover boots, a hover must be done to get past the next part. I buffer a lot, but that's just to ensure it's a 3 bombchu hover. Finally, after PG, the cutscebne is watched in order to skip minuet again, because the CS places you in front of deku tree.
- Naturally, Deku is the perfect next dungeon to do, so a clip is performed to get in. There is a 40s faster method to do deku, but you need QPA to burn the webs and I can't equip sticks. So the classic 231 skip from the compass room is performed twice. The deku WW is performed to skip having to hover to ganon's castle which saves 8 chus. If we waited until light arrows, it would be far too late for the chest, we need the chus now.
- Because I don't have LA yet, I only get the chu chest and open the locked door in spirit trial before leaving.
- For the last 4 dungeons, I want water to be last so the lake can fill up so I can swim to fishing. Then, DC has a nice WW to GTG which is on the way to spirit. That leaves just shadow, which is kind of on the way to DC anyway.
- I have the chu to spare to do a chu SS teleport to go to shadow. I defeat bongo not to get the hover boots, but to spawn a chest to be used for boatskip. Then I do a BK skip in the unloaded room. Because it uses no explosives, I can do a CS skip.
- Next is DC. I have a hammer for the mud wall at the start. I can also use hammer on the floor in king D's room. Finally, a WW is performed. You can skip this WW and walk to spirit, but you still need a chu to cross the broken bridge in GV, so it's just faster to WW.
- After getting to spirit, you can perform a TSC using bow to skip the silver block. This trick wasn't known when I ran this, so I used a chu here. Then it is possible to BK skip with no chus, it's just a bit involved. The CS is watched so you skip requiem. A SDW is performed to go into LACS because the stick on B trick doesn't work when you watch LACS.. it's a bit faster to go to lake hylia through the wasteland otherwise.
- After LACS, I have to make the trek to water. Because of no hovers, I need to hover across the main room. In zfg's run, he did a tektite hover here, using 4 chus is much easier. After morpha, the CS is watched so the lake will fill up. This is so you can just swim to fising. A trick is done to steal the rod. I then dim my B button and undim it by entering/exiting water. After SWing I will have stick on B. This is one of the few ways you can use stick with my current item screen.
- All of the trials can be performed without sword, so they can be done in any order. The importants parts are: you need to light torches in both forest and shadow trial, so you need to enter and exit one trial and you need to use blue fire to thaw the red ice in waster trial, so your bottle can't have a fairy in it for fire trial. The order I do this is kind of all over the place and it can probably be done faster. My orde is: light, spirit, shadow, water, forest, fire. Finally, you want sword for thew tower climb, so you need to SW at some point.
- After ganondorf, I do a void warp to skip the tower collapse.
- In this run, the tower climb and collapse can technically be skipped, but that would require using deku WW to end the game and you'd have to hover to ganon's castle for chus. This would also change the dungeon order and is probably not faster because this route minimizes overworld travel as much as possible.
