  1. [20:57] <jocoseZirconium> Hello Faerzen!
  2. [20:58] <@visceralVanguard> Oh hello again.
  3. [20:58] <@visceralVanguard> How have you been?
  4. [20:58] <jocoseZirconium> I've been good.
  5. [20:58] <jocoseZirconium> Crazy mage attacked me a few minutes back, but he was kind of a pushover.
  6. [20:58] <@visceralVanguard> Oh dear.
  7. [20:58] <jocoseZirconium> I have a question on your intelligence on the game.
  8. [20:59] <@visceralVanguard> Oh?
  9. [20:59] <jocoseZirconium> Yes.
  10. [20:59] <@visceralVanguard> What can I help with?
  11. [20:59] <jocoseZirconium> Where exactly did you learn all of it?
  12. [20:59] <jocoseZirconium> Was it your sprite only?
  13. [20:59] <@visceralVanguard> All of what, exactly?
  14. [20:59] <@visceralVanguard> There was a great deal I told you.
  15. [20:59] <jocoseZirconium> The information on the game, SABATH.
  16. [20:59] <jocoseZirconium> Like sprites and such.
  17. [21:00] <@visceralVanguard> I received the information from two separate sources independently.
  18. [21:00] <@visceralVanguard> After corroborating their information against each other, as well as other evidence in the game, I have decided it seems most likely to be valid information.
  19. [21:01] <jocoseZirconium> Interesting. What sources?
  20. [21:01] <@visceralVanguard> This game has, for some reason, had a great propensity for providing me with mechanisms with which to learn information.
  21. [21:01] <@visceralVanguard> One of them was an item that I found.
  22. [21:02] <@visceralVanguard> It was essentially able to answer any question I posed it, and supposedly never lied about the information it held.
  23. [21:02] <@visceralVanguard> The other source was my sprite, who has been astoundingly helpful compared to most other sprites I am aware of.
  24. [21:03] <jocoseZirconium> That does seem like a reliable source, especially with corroboration.
  25. [21:03] <jocoseZirconium> My sprite hasn't done much.
  26. [21:03] <jocoseZirconium> I'll talk to him again later.
  27. [21:04] <@visceralVanguard> I believe it is likely the combination of polite, respectful gentleman's attire and a whizzing fast computer software that I placed inside of it that has caused it to be so particularly helpful.
  28. [21:04] <@visceralVanguard> Simultaneously intelligent and powerful, but also polite and helpful.
  29. [21:05] <jocoseZirconium> Indeed. Sharp dress and fast programs.
  30. [21:05] <jocoseZirconium> Anyway, I've found myself in a kind of shabby palace, that happens to have a wealth of books.
  31. [21:05] <@visceralVanguard> Oh, really?
  32. [21:06] <@visceralVanguard> Have you found anything interesting thus far?
  33. [21:06] <jocoseZirconium> Well not really.
  34. [21:06] <jocoseZirconium> One... decently scandalous book the content of which I'll not go into now.
  35. [21:06] <jocoseZirconium> Another on overthrowing monarchs.
  36. [21:07] <jocoseZirconium> But as a game construct, I was wondering if I were to find any information there, would it be reliable?
  37. [21:08] <@visceralVanguard> That is uncertain.
  38. [21:09] <@visceralVanguard> As a game construct, it certainly has the capacity to be uncannily knowledgeable about things you think it should not be.
  39. [21:09] <@visceralVanguard> However, erroneous information is also entirely possible.
  40. [21:10] <jocoseZirconium> In that case, I'll send you any information I come across for fact checking.
  41. [21:10] <jocoseZirconium> That is, assuming you still are in possession of the item.
  42. [21:10] <@visceralVanguard> Deciphering which tidbits of information likely have some veracity is not always an easy task, but I will help however I can.
  43. [21:11] <@visceralVanguard> I am still in possession of the item, but unfortunately, after a mishap, it no longer functions as it once did.
  44. [21:11] <@visceralVanguard> I am in the process of figuring out how to repair it.
  45. [21:11] <@visceralVanguard> I feel quite terribly because I believe the mishap was my fault, but what is done is done.
  46. [21:12] <jocoseZirconium> Unfortunate.
  47. [21:13] <jocoseZirconium> Thanks for your assistance, I'll continue attempting to glean some info from this library.
  48. [21:13] <@visceralVanguard> Best of luck!
  49. [21:13] <jocoseZirconium> Bye!
  50. [21:13] <@visceralVanguard> Before you go however, I do have one question.
  51. [21:13] <jocoseZirconium> Yes?
  52. [21:13] <@visceralVanguard> Have you been in any contact with Kara recently?
  53. [21:13] <jocoseZirconium> Not since I saw her face to face.
  54. [21:13] <@visceralVanguard> Ever since we first talked, I have been attempting to get in contact with her, but to no avail.
  55. [21:13] <jocoseZirconium> We aren't on fantastic terms.
  56. [21:13] <@visceralVanguard> Ah.
  57. [21:14] <jocoseZirconium> I could mesage her, but it would likely be futile.
  58. [21:14] <jocoseZirconium> Somehow I offended her.
  59. [21:14] <@visceralVanguard> It is probably best that I do not push the issue then.
  60. [21:14] <jocoseZirconium> Honestly, i'd be fine with it.
  61. [21:15] <@visceralVanguard> I mentioned your name in one of my earlier messages to her, so it seems a possibility that she is ignoring me on purpose then.
  62. [21:15] <@visceralVanguard> Or she has been unable to respond for quite some time.
  63. [21:15] <jocoseZirconium> In that case, I'll send her a message distancing myself from you.
  64. [21:15] <jocoseZirconium> Or cross my fingers.
  65. [21:15] <jocoseZirconium> Either way.
  66. [21:15] <@visceralVanguard> It does not make too much difference to me either way.
  67. [21:15] <@visceralVanguard> I do not wish to intrude on you two.
  68. [21:15] <@visceralVanguard> I already interfere with too many other people as it is.
  69. [21:16] <jocoseZirconium> ((#lightplayerproblems))
  70. [21:16] <jocoseZirconium> I see.
  71. [21:16] <jocoseZirconium> Thanks for the help Faerzen, its always a pleasure talking.
  72. [21:16] <@visceralVanguard> Likewise.
  73. [21:16] <@visceralVanguard> I hope your library search is interesting!
  74. [21:16] <jocoseZirconium> And your... Whatever endavors.
  75. [21:16] <@visceralVanguard> Oh.
  76. [21:16] <jocoseZirconium> Hm?
  77. [21:17] <@visceralVanguard> I suppose it would not hurt to inquire.
  78. [21:17] <@visceralVanguard> I find it highly unlikely the answer is yes, but have you happened to find yourself in the possession of a mysterious box recently?
  79. [21:17] <jaczac|m> Not that I recall.
  80. [21:17] <@visceralVanguard> As I expected.
  81. [21:18] <@visceralVanguard> Disregard that then.
  82. [21:18] <@visceralVanguard> Okay, I suppose I could provide a snippet of feedback on your idea.
  83. [21:18] <@visceralVanguard> As for Kara?
  84. [21:18] <@visceralVanguard> I would refrain from messaging her to distance yourself from me.
  85. [21:19] <@visceralVanguard> If the two of you are not on particularly good terms, I would think a message out of the blue from you about this random person who just so happens to also be messaging her would be rather strange.
  86. [21:19] <jaczac|m> Good point.
  87. [21:19] <jaczac|m> Also, I have another question.
  88. [21:20] <jaczac|m> I was recently asked by Lyra and Alex to transcribe for them. Because they were both deaf.
  89. [21:20] <@visceralVanguard> Perhaps saying some sort of positive thing about how talking to me could be helpful or asking why it is that I have not been able to contact her, but a false gesture of distance seems unwise.
  90. [21:20] <@visceralVanguard> Oh really?
  91. [21:20] <@visceralVanguard> What did they ask you to transcribe?
  92. [21:21] <jocoseZirconium> A conversation involving a giant spider.
  93. [21:21] <jocoseZirconium> Im not sure anything was gained during that entire conversation.
  94. [21:21] <@visceralVanguard> Interesting.
  95. [21:21] <@visceralVanguard> I had audiovisual correspondence with them recently and I had a similar problem.
  96. [21:22] <jocoseZirconium> Anyway, is there any particular reason why Alex and Lyra continually seem to be involved in psychological problems?
  97. [21:22] <jocoseZirconium> That was the reason they told me anyway.
  98. [21:23] <@visceralVanguard> I find it entirely possible that they are actually deaf, but their explanation about it simply being psychotraumatic is also possible.
  99. [21:24] <@visceralVanguard> Lyra is very quick to blame any sort of obstacle she encounters on this game attempting to screw her over, deafness included.
  100. [21:24] <@visceralVanguard> They informed me that they were going to be using explosives and that there was a rockslide, so there appears to be a great deal of potential for loud noises to have caused temporary deafness.
  101. [21:24] <jocoseZirconium> Ah.
  102. [21:25] <@visceralVanguard> I do not know enough details of the situation to actually be able to make any judgements on the situation, however.
  103. [21:25] <jocoseZirconium> Their adventures continue to be fascinating.
  104. [21:25] <@visceralVanguard> Oh, really?
  105. [21:25] <jocoseZirconium> Well, I've done a fair bit of fighting in the time I've been in the game.
  106. [21:25] <@visceralVanguard> Are there any other adventures that you are referring to besides this particular escapade and the court trial earlier?
  107. [21:25] <jocoseZirconium> Well the spider negociations.
  108. [21:26] <jocoseZirconium> (( holy shit we rick and morty now))
  109. [21:26] <jocoseZirconium> And they were locked up in Derse.
  110. [21:26] <@visceralVanguard> Oh, Alex is on Derse as well now?
  111. [21:26] <@visceralVanguard> I cannot say I am surprised.
  112. [21:26] <jocoseZirconium> Is he not a derse dreamer? I had assumed so.
  113. [21:26] <@visceralVanguard> Lyra must have been quite frustrated at first.
  114. [21:27] <@visceralVanguard> Now, Alex dreams on Prospit.
  115. [21:27] <@visceralVanguard> He must have flown over to Derse upon hearing Lyra was imprisoned.
  116. [21:27] <jocoseZirconium> I must say, from what I've heard from Lyra going from prospit to derse is a questionable decision.
  117. [21:28] <@visceralVanguard> I would venture to say choosing to be any more involved on Derse than one already is, in whatever capacity that may be, is a questionable decision.
  118. [21:29] <@visceralVanguard> What were these negotiations about?
  119. [21:30] <@visceralVanguard> "Negotiations" implies that there was a conflict needing negotiating to the begin with, which does not bode well.
  120. [21:31] <jocoseZirconium> Well I don't think there was any explicit conflict, but I'm not sure if Alex in particular was on fantastic terms with the spiders.
  121. [21:31] <jocoseZirconium> He seemed to take a back seat in this.
  122. [21:33] <jocoseZirconium> And looking back, It was more on trying to revive a crystal of some kind.
  123. [21:33] <jocoseZirconium> Except there was some tension for some reason.
  124. [21:34] <jocoseZirconium> Lanased, the spider seemed...
  125. [21:34] <jocoseZirconium> Agitated. Bristling.
  126. [21:36] <@visceralVanguard> Revive a crystal?
  127. [21:37] <@visceralVanguard> As in Alex was trying to revive a crystal?
  128. [21:37] <@visceralVanguard> Or were the spiders trying to revive a crystal?
  129. [21:37] <jocoseZirconium> No, not a crystal actually.
  130. [21:37] <jocoseZirconium> A shield?
  131. [21:37] <@visceralVanguard> Yes.
  132. [21:37] <@visceralVanguard> Alex lost his shield and is attempting to retrieve it.
  133. [21:37] <jocoseZirconium> Yeah Alex seemed very sad about it's loss.
  134. [21:37] <@visceralVanguard> Who wishes to revive it though?
  135. [21:38] <jocoseZirconium> Lyra and Alex.
  136. [21:38] <@visceralVanguard> Oh dear.
  137. [21:38] <@visceralVanguard> That implies that it needs reviving.
  138. [21:38] <jocoseZirconium> Actually, I think the shield was made of crystal.
  139. [21:38] <jocoseZirconium> Yes, It was quite dead.,
  140. [21:38] <@visceralVanguard> That is most unfortunate.
  141. [21:38] <jocoseZirconium> I offered my condolences.
  142. [21:38] <@visceralVanguard> As unsurprised as I am in that turn of events, I really was hoping it would have survived.
  143. [21:39] <jocoseZirconium> Was it not just a shield?
  144. [21:39] <@visceralVanguard> No, it wasn't.
  145. [21:39] <jocoseZirconium> What was it then?
  146. [21:39] <@visceralVanguard> It was a shield inhabited by a sentient being.
  147. [21:39] <jocoseZirconium> Oh. So something actually died.
  148. [21:39] <jocoseZirconium> Not just an object.
  149. [21:40] <jocoseZirconium> Thats saddening.
  150. [21:40] <@visceralVanguard> Well, either died or was released from the object and now cannot speak because it has no physical form.
  151. [21:40] <@visceralVanguard> Both are unfortunate, however.
  152. [21:40] <jocoseZirconium> Huh. Another one of Lyra and Alex's crazy adventures I suppose. I'll save it for another time.
  153. [21:42] <jocoseZirconium> Oh yes, another question.
  154. [21:42] <jocoseZirconium> Is Lyra attempting to become a necromancer?
  155. [21:43] <@visceralVanguard> What makes you ask that?
  156. [21:44] <jocoseZirconium> Well, before you mentioned that the shield was an entity, I'd just thought she was an alchemist.
  157. [21:44] <jocoseZirconium> An actual one, with Equivalent Exchange and such.
  158. [21:45] <jocoseZirconium> But she's trying to revive a soul, or whatever the equivalent is, or whatever terminology is needed.
  159. [21:45] <@visceralVanguard> Why did you think she was an alchemist before?
  160. [21:46] <@visceralVanguard> From her attempts at "reviving" a shield?
  161. [21:46] <jocoseZirconium> Like I said, she mentioned Equivalent Exchangce.
  162. [21:46] <jocoseZirconium> Which I spelled wrong.
  163. [21:46] <jocoseZirconium> Either way, I'm no alchemist, but I'm fairly certain thats the basic property of alchemy.
  164. [21:46] <jocoseZirconium> True alchemy, not SABATH alchemy.
  165. [21:47] <@visceralVanguard> Interesting.
  166. [21:48] <@visceralVanguard> Well, earlier, Lyra was poking around in some graves in a cave system.
  167. [21:48] <@visceralVanguard> Or, what she said were graves. She was having quite the hallucinatory experience around that time, so I do not know how much stock I would put in that.
  168. [21:49] <@visceralVanguard> Necromancy also was brought up at the trial.
  169. [21:49] <@visceralVanguard> However, I do not know if she is genuinely interested in it or if she was simply saying it to help our case.
  170. [21:50] <jocoseZirconium> She seemed quite determined.
  171. [21:50] <jocoseZirconium> The spider was confused though.
  172. [21:50] <@visceralVanguard> Would you mind sending me your transcript?
  173. [21:51] <jocoseZirconium> Sure.
  174. [21:51] <@visceralVanguard> Thank you.
  175. [21:51] <@visceralVanguard> I think it is likely she was attempting to help Alex with her efforts, but what you suspect may have some truth to it, given recent events.
  176. [21:52] * jocoseZirconium has sent you SpiderNegociationsTranscript.txt
  177. [21:52] <jocoseZirconium> http://pastebin.com/6VA74sE9
  178. [21:52] <`DM> Title: SpiderNegociationsTranscript.txt | By: a guest[NORMAL User!] | On: Sep 16th, 2015 | Syntax: None | Size: 5.79 KB | Views: 17 | Expires: Never
  179. [21:53] <jocoseZirconium> I suppose that is true.
  180. [21:53] <jocoseZirconium> Necromancy has always left a bitter taste on my tongue personally.
  181. [21:54] <@visceralVanguard> Any particular reason other than the fact that it deals with death, if you do not mind my asking?
  182. [21:54] <jocoseZirconium> Back before SABATH, there was a large necromancy cult in the citadel where i lived.
  183. [21:55] <jocoseZirconium> Theres a chance my father might have taken bribes to pardon them for the killing of a priest.
  184. [21:55] <@visceralVanguard> Ah, that would do it.
  185. [21:55] <jocoseZirconium> Normal noble politics bullshit.
  186. [21:58] <@visceralVanguard> That is quite unfortunate. I am sorry to hear about that.
  187. [21:58] <jocoseZirconium> It's fine really.
  188. [21:58] <jocoseZirconium> Wait.
  189. [21:59] <jocoseZirconium> Its been awhile, but I just remembered a name.
  190. [21:59] <jocoseZirconium> Do you know anyone else from the my times?
  191. [21:59] <jocoseZirconium> i think he was from somewhere east, I think it must've been Kara that mentioned it.
  192. [22:00] <jocoseZirconium> Damn, never mind. I've forgotten.
  193. [22:00] <@visceralVanguard> What is the name?
  194. [22:01] <jocoseZirconium> I'll look at my list later.
  195. [22:01] <@visceralVanguard> Were you able to contact Nick?
  196. [22:01] <jocoseZirconium> No, I was just about to ask you.
  197. [22:01] <@visceralVanguard> He is the only one I am aware of from your time period.
  198. [22:01] <jocoseZirconium> Would now be an appropriate time to contact him?
  199. [22:01] <@visceralVanguard> No, unfortunately.
  200. [22:01] <@visceralVanguard> He is asleep.
  201. [22:01] <jocoseZirconium> Ah well.
  202. [22:01] <jocoseZirconium> I can talk to Alex then.
  203. [22:02] <jocoseZirconium> Thanks for your help as always.
  204. [22:03] <@visceralVanguard> Glad I could be of assistance.
  205. [22:03] <@visceralVanguard> For now, I actually seem to have some amount of time on my hands when I do not have some enormous looming threat over my head.
  206. [22:03] <@visceralVanguard> I think I will take advantage of the opportunity and go exploring!
  207. [22:03] <jocoseZirconium> Looming threats are never goodl
  208. [22:03] <jocoseZirconium> Have fun exploring!
  209. [22:03] <@visceralVanguard> I hope I shall.
