BACKGROUND:

 yeonjung's parents, jihoon and hyejung met at college when they were around her age, and from what yeonjung's heard from all of her parents' friends, they were extremely cute together. all throughout college, the pair maintained a stable relationship, one that was envied by all their other classmates, and on their graduation day, jihoon proposed. their wedding is one that is still talked about today, as both were from relatively well off families that could afford to go out and buy fancy decorations and hire fancy venues for all the guests. yeonjung has seen the photos, both the ones stored away in her mother's memory draw, and the ones that her parents friends always slip her. from the way the pair acted when they were both in college, everyone assumed that they'd go on to have a wonderful married life and start a new family, and eventually grow old with each other. and that was exactly what jihoon and hyejung intended to do. the year after they got married, their first daughter, yeonjung herself, was born, marking the start of their new family together. and everything was great for the small family. despite having demanding work hours, jihoon still made time for his wife and daughters, and they were always going out doing cute little things and making memories stored away in photographs. two years after yeonjung was born, her mother fell pregnant again with another daughter, who was to become the youngest and final member of their small family. to the outsiders, and even the people who knew the family best, they believed that their lives were perfect, and they'd never believe you if you told them it would all fall for pieces (even now, after it has, they still wouldn't believe you, due to the picture perfect image that yeonjung' mother likes to maintain).

 after the birth of yeonjung's little sister, sojung, well, things started going downhill, and yeonjung's not really sure why. her father suddenly came to the realisation that he needed to earn more money to provide for the family of four, even though they had more than enough money already, and started taking up extra shifts at work. before this, he was already rarely ever around, but now it was scarce for yeonjung to see him more than once a week, and even then, it was usually just a quick hello in the mornings before he was running out the door. and well, with her husband rarely ever home, hyejung turned sour, as she no longer had the life that all of her friends had, with their husbands who returned home every night to greet their wives. hyejung wasn't happy, and both her children could see it, even if she continually kept her facade up around all of her friends, before stalking into her bedroom as soon as she was home, a scowl on her face and not coming out until necessary. thinking about it, yeonjung thinks that her mother acted more like a teenager at the age of forty than either her and her sister had during their actual teenage years. then came the affair. yeonjung's not stupid, and she'd have to be entirely dense and blind to not notice that her mother was having an affair with the lawyer from across the street, a widowed man with his two sons who had already moved out. yeonjung thought her mother was embarrassing, especially from the way she seemed to think that neither of her daughters knew exactly what she was up to whenever she left the house. however, with this knowledge comes a heavy burden, because neither yeonjung or her little sister want to be the one to break the news to their father, and their stuck playing happy little family all the time, pretending that theres nothing going on behind closed doors. maybe that's where yeonjung got so good at lying.

PERSONALITY :

 if you were to describe jeon yeonjung in one word, the word that would come to mind is flirty. all throughout her school career, from the moment she entered high school, to the day she leaves college probably, she's been known as a flirt, and yeonjung will not deny it. flirting is a second nature to her by this point, and it's her primary way of communicating. flirty comments and cheesy pickup lines are a language that she speaks fluently, after years of mastering it. she will flirt with anyone and everyone, even her friends. every other comment out of her mouth is a pickup line, or something with a less than innocent double meaning. those closest to yeonjung know when she's joking, and when she's just flirting to fun. but most other people can't tell the difference, and that's something that yeonjung loves to use to her advantage. she's learnt ages ago that flirting was an easy way to get out of any situation, and she's long since mastered the act. she doesn't need a rich parent to pay her out of trouble when she's got a mouth made of sugar to do it for her. yeonjung is also very vain. she's pretty and she knows it, hence why she's always used it to her advantage. her looks are probably the main reason why she gets so far with her flirting, and she's very proud of her them. so sure, call her vain, but if you had looks like hers, wouldn't you do the same?

 yeonjung's also a bit of an airhead, but that's not really her fault. people often think that all she has going for her are her looks, because seemingly, her head is full of air in the place where her brain should be. it's not untrue to say that she's not the brightest crayon in the box, but she's not completely stupid. she just doesn't really have the memory or brain power to do well in all of her subjects. but this doesn't mean she's a straight up idiot. while she may not be book smart, she is extremely street smart, and to her, that's what is important. knowing how to get around down without pissing people off and knowing exactly what to do to get what she wants is going to be useful in her life, not memorising the periodic table. but the ditziness that people know her for is mostly an act. it's all part of her charm, acting ditzy in order to woo people, because it makes her seem much more innocent than she is. she's very good at asking really stupid questions and making it seem like she's serious, even when she's not. yeonjung likes to think that she'd make a great secret agent, because she's good at sucking up to people and luring them into a false sense of security, like what she does every time she flirts her way out of trouble. if she played up the airhead and ditzy nature, she could probably get away with murder.

 despite her habit of flirting her way out of trouble, yeonjung is actually pretty sensible. kind of. well, sensible in the sense that she's not reckless. flirting for yeonjung is always a bit of fun, and she always knows how to draw the line to make sure that she doesn't get herself caught up in anything too dangerous. so while she makes some questionable decisions, for the most part she's pretty sensible. yeonjung is also a very independent person. in all her years of living, she's come to learn not to rely on her parents as much as other people might. sure, she still lives under the same roof as them, but that's about the only contact she really has with them. her father's always off at work, and it's been that way since yeonjung was ten, so it's no surprise that she's not really close with the man, and her mother is always off, pretending that she's not actually having an affair with a lawyer. yeonjung is fully capable of taking care of herself, and in fact, the only reason that she hasn't moved out of her parents' house yet is because she doesn't have the money to be spending on rent elsewhere. she's an independent person who doesn't need help from other people. she knows exactly how to take care of herself, and what she needs to do to go places, she doesn't need anyone else telling her what she should do.

 + ( OVER PROTECTIVE, COMPETITIVE )
 yeonjung doesn't look it, but she's actually very over protective of her close friends and family. what started as feeling protective over her little sister has since evolved into her lowkey mom nature. growing up with parents who clearly seemed to have their priorities elsewhere, yeonjung quickly took up the role of raising her little sister, and now she's extremely protective over her, to the point where it's actually pretty terrifying. yeonjung acts in a similar way towards her friends, too, especially those who are younger than her, because it makes her want to shield their innocence from the outside world, and do whatever it takes to make them happy. the quickest way to piss yeonjung off is to go after one of her friends, and trust me, a pissed off yeonjung is not someone you want to deal with but she's also a very competitive person, to the point where her competitive nature often gets the better of her. she can turn everything and anything into a competition, and she's been doing it for her entire life. she's a sore loser, and absolutely hates not winning. once you manage to set of her competitiveness, you can bet she will not give up until she's come out on top, even if there's no possible way for her to win. it's part of the reason why she sometimes clashes with TIME LAPSE, since they're both extremely competitive people who don't like to back down. it's probably best that you don't accidentally bring out her competitive nature, because yeonjung will never stop trying to prove herself. to yeonjung, life is a game that can be won, and you can bet that she'll find away to walk out with a trophy in her hands.

 + ( SNEAKY, TRUSTWORTHY )
 yeonjung seems to have a natural talent for sneaking around, even at times where she's not even trying. if she's quiet enough, people will often forget she's there, or will often think she's not paying attention to them, more focused on the game of candy crush in front of her. she always seems to be in the right place at the right time (or the wrong place at the wrong time, depending on how you look at it) it overhear things that she shouldn't be hearing. yeonjung has an arsenal full of dirt on other people to use, and that alone makes her a pretty terrifying person. in a sense, you could also say that yeonjung is trustworthy. to her friends and family, yeah, she'll keep your secrets. she'll take them to the grave with her and never utter a sound. but if you're not her friend? well, you can't be so sure that she won't accidentally let it slip. it's probably one of the best forms of blackmail, yeonjung's learned, because she knows far too much already, and she knows things that people are willing to do whatever it takes to make sure she keeps her mouth shut. she always manages to appear when people least expect it, and in the absence of book smarts in her brain, her head is filled up with other people's secrets. she's also a pretty good liar, which is kind of contradicting, because she has a hatred for people who spew lies from their lips, even though she's talented in that form of art herself.

 + yeonjung is really good friends with CURTAIN CALL, despite them being so different, as yeonjung is far more outspoken than the latter. but they get along really well, because they're both in charge of bailing their friends out of trouble (and if yeonjung's totally honest, CURTAIN CALL will be the first person that she calls if she can't bail herself out of trouble). but CURTIN CALL is one of the few people who can actually put up with yeonjung, even though the former always feigns indifference, but yeonjung is extremely thankful for the girl.

 + yeonjung is also good friends with YUTA, despite him being a year older than her. they met after he first moved to korea, when his family moved into the house down the street, and yeonjung's mother decided that she needed to keep up her image to the rest of the neighbourhood, and went to welcome the nakamotos into the neighbourhood, dragging yeonjung and her sister with her. what started as simple pleasantries became walking to school together everyday (and now he drives her because yeonjung doesn't have a license). he's usually the person who gets to hear all of yeonjung's rants at the end of the day too, about all the people and teachers who've managed to piss her off

LOVE INTEREST : JAEHYUN

HIS PERSONALITY :
 + he's actually very similar to yeonjung, so it's often surprising that they don't clash. he's a rather outpoken person, much like yeonjung herself, at he knows exactly how popular he is with the female population. as captain of the basketball team, he's got loads of fangirls trailing after him, and he knows it. he's a very flirty person, and is extremely greasy too. he never really pursues relationships with people, but he is known for stringing people along (because they never seem to get his hints when he's not interested, not that the rest of the school population will believe it, since they're so eager to jump onto the fuck boy reputation he's somehow acquired). however, once you get past all the flirting, he's actually a pretty funny guy with a great sense of humour, and is very respectful to those around him. he's not the type of person to get involved in fights or anything, and despite looking relatively on the muscular side, he actually couldn't hurt a fly even if he wanted to. he's a dedicated person, both to basketball and his studies, and doesn't like to let himself slack off. he's extremely harsh on himself when it comes to not achieving his goals, and while people tend to just write him off, he's actually extremely hardworking. they don't know he stays back for hours practicing shooting hoops and running suicides. they don't know that he stays up way past midnight trying to finish his homework because it's due, too proud to ask for an extension.

HOW DID YOU MEET? :
 + not in the most conventional way, that's for sure. yeonjung has a talent for sneaking around and eavesdropping on people, which was exactly what she was doing when they first met. she's was lurking around the corner, after coming across the head cheerleader and the captain of the football team having some sort of argument on her way back from the bathroom. obviously, she figured that this was going to be some juicy gossip, and it was far more interesting than whatever professor jung was blabbering on about in her history class. however, she was too focused on trying to listen in on their argument to notice that she wasn't actually alone in the hallway. jaehyun, who'd just come out of the boys locker room after basketball practice, and was actually kind of amused to find yoenjung flattened against a wall, trying to eavesdrop. he stood there for five minutes without her noticing, before he finally spoke up, asking what she was doing. yeonjung was startled, but the arguing couple around the corner had heard him, too, their conversation hushing. panicking, yeonjung did the first thing she could think of, as she heard the couple rounding the corner – she threw herself at jaehyun and all but tackled him into a hug, burying her head in his neck trying to look as intimate as possible until the arguing couple turn away, while jaehyun just stands there, confused.

YOUR FIRST IMPRESSIONS :
 + didn't have much of a first impression of him, really, she was just annoyed that he was about to get him caught, so she launched herself at him to look intimate, deciding that if she went down, he was coming with her. at the time, she hadn't even managed to get a good look at his face, and it wasn't until afterwards that she realised that it was jung jaehyun, the captain of the basketball team.

HIS FIRST IMPRESSIONS :
 + he thought her eavesdropping was endearing, and thought she was actually really pretty. but then he was really confused at why she was trying to hide, and even more confused when she threw herself at him wrapping him into a tight hug, even though they'd barely spoken two words to each other. he knew that yeonjung could be a bit of a flirt, but he didn't think that she was that forward and bold.

HOW YOU ACT AROUND HIM :
	 + BEG | honestly, she's kind of embarrassed. which is unusual for yeonjung, because she's known to be pretty shameless when it comes to flirting. but for whatever reason, her first meeting with jaehyun never fails to turn her cheeks pink at the thought (CURTAIN CALL finds great glee in bringing it up all the time). but it seems that the universe has it out for her, because they keep bumping into each other a lot more, and she seems him pretty regular, even though she used to never actually see him around school. and clearly, jaehyun's taken their first meeting as a confidence boost and enjoys trying to flirt with her whenever their paths cross (much to the dismay of all his fan girls, and yeonjung). however, yeonjung is far too lazy to go out of her way to avoid him because of it, and eventually, after he embarrasses himself with a pretty cheesy pickup line, yeonjung decides to call it even.
	 + MID | she's acquired a new friend, one with a shared love of flirting and pickup lines. yeonjung thinks that it's great, because she finally has someone to test her flirting on now, and it's even better when he gets flustered over it. she's now long past the point of worrying about him judging her, and she basically tells him everything. he's her new ranting victim (something that YUTA is glad about, as he's no longer on the receiving end of them), and she's started spending a lot of time staying up and texting him at two in the morning with memes and questionable logic (“do you think fish ever get bored?”). it's only when CURTAIN CALL finally points out that they seem to be getting very close, and the rest of the student population seem to think that they're dating does yeonjung realise that maybe, just maybe she might have a tiny little crush on him. she doesn't take this newfound knowledge very well.
	 + END | yeonjung panics. because she's not good with feelings or crushes – it's why she just sticks to innocent flirting that never really goes anywhere. she's never really had a real relationship before, and part of her is scared, especially since she knows that jaehyun is basically the male version of herself. so while it isn't the best idea, she just straight up avoids him. and unlike most other people, she does her best not to be obvious about it. so technically, she's not avoiding him. she just really needs to finish her assignments. and then she really needed to catch up with her sister for the weekend. and CURTAIN CALL really needed her help with something at lunch. however, her attempts aren't really working, because he finally manages to corner her in the hallway one day after yeonjung spent two weeks trying to avoid him. she doesn't get the chance to make up an excuse to make a quick exit before he kisses her.

HOW HE ACTS AROUND YOU :
	 + BEG | he thinks she's entertaining. he's heard a lot about her, since she's pretty popular around campus, and given the circumstances of their first meeting, he thinks she's pretty funny. he's had girls be pretty forthcoming on him before, but for some reason, yeonjung's actions only amuse him, and he thinks she'd make a pretty good friend. especially since she's in no place to judge hi for his flirty ways, since she's basically the female version of himself. however, all his attempts at becoming friends result in yeonjung blushing, and whether it’s because of the memory of their first meeting, result of his (mildly pathetic) flirting, he doesn't know, but it's a definite ego boost, regardless. well ... until he straight up embarrasses himself in front of her with a really cringey pickup line that makes him want to crawl into a whole for the rest of eternity (and unfortunately DONGHYUCK was there to witness the whole thing). at leasts she seemed to find it funny, even if he's never been more embarrassed in his life.
	 + MID | he's glad that he's finally managed to break the ice between them, and he's glad that she finally considers him a friend. he also finds it amusing how she's taken to flirting to him all the time, and how she's become a whole new level of shameless in the little time he's become friends with her. he's glad that she doesn't feel the need to pretend around him, and has finally opened up enough to tell him everything without worrying about the chance of him judging him. he's also glad that he's now one of her go to friends – he's replaced yuta as the person to vent her frustrations to whenever she's annoyed and needs to rant. his friends call him whipped, but jaehyun is insistent on the fact that he doesn't have a crush on her. just because he spends a lot of his spare time in her company, and doesn't mind staying up until ungodly hours of the morning waiting for her bizarre text messages that never fail to bring a smile to his face. yeah. so maybe he does have a bit of a crush on her. he can hear DONGHYUCK cackling at this realisation in the background.
	 + END | he's not completely oblivious, and he knows that she's been avoiding him, even though he's not really sure why. so he's not really sure why she suddenly has a million assignments, and needs to catch up with everyone in her address book all of a sudden. but he also realises that she's extremely difficult to talk to when she doesn't want to be found. it's infuriating, because he really wants to clear things up. he knows that he's into yeonjung, but he doesn't want to freak her out, because in the time that he's known her, he's figured out that she doesn't do relationships. but jaehyun is determined and is not one to back down from something that he wants. so, he corners yoenjung when she's coming out of her chemistry class, and before yeonjung has a chance to escape, he swoops in and kisses her like something out of a romantic drama that his sister would watch. and, well, it seems that it's enough to make yeonjung stop running and actually listen to his confession. and actually reciprocate it.

 + jaehyun pestering yeonjung to come to one of his basketball games, but she hates sports of any sort and doesn't particularly want to go. (so instead, he rocks up at her house beforehand and forces her into the car with the promise of taking her out for bubble tea after they win)

 + yeonjung's little sister, sojung, meets jaehyun one night when he drops her home, and sojung tries to be all threatening and stares him down. even though sojung is even shorter than her older sister, she can still be pretty terrifying, and yoenjung found it amusing how scared jaehyun got in her presence before he made an excuse to leave

 + CUTRAIN CALL stopping yeonjung from doing something really reckless, and just drags her away from the scene while everyone else watches because they're kind of surprised that she was able to control yeonjung
