26. After over a year of nonstop warfare, battles where much blood was spilled, Europeans are beginning to exhaust the fighting spirit they had. The peace factions of France, Prussia, and Austria, and United Kingdom have begun talks, and diplomats are forming new treaties. But who will come out on top? Or will the hawk factions end their designs? The three vying state seeking peace, a new order centered around either France, Prussia, or the United Kingdom. At present the United Kingdom seems to be the most successful nation of the wars, having stayed out of the maelstrom and quietly making strong gains in Italy and Spain. However, Prussia is becoming a very dominant force in Germany, if not for the French offensive into Hanover, they would be recognized as the supreme power of Europe. And France, the Battle of Linz has hurt their prestige gravely, but Napoleon believes if he can retake Milan and Rome, Europe will accept his supremacy and status quo ante-bellum.

32. In Germany…
33. Charles, in his long circuitous campaign descended from Tyrol and invaded Bavaria. Although outnumbered, the bavarians fought bravely and almost routed the Austrians before withdrawing west. Charles left his brother John and moved to support the main army at Linz.
34. Meanwhile in the north, the armies of Marmont and Bernadotte have made soft thrust into Lower Saxony but is of not much consequence due to the fact Kleist's powerful army is quite undefeated.
35.
36. In Austria…
37. After a year of campaigning in Austria, dividing the Grand Armee, failing to hold Vienna, and chasing Charles into Italy, the failures now come with a cost. Prussia and Russia arrived to support their Austrian allies and set up a defensive position at Linz. Napoleon, although quite outnumbered from his long and costly campaign, believed in the superiority of his armies nevertheless. The battle opened with a grand battery by the French who pressured the Prussian center under Napoleon himself inflicting many losses. Despite the battle going well there, disaster befell when Lannes was mortally wounded by an Habsburg grenzer, and the right flank was hit by Pavlovsk Grenadiers and Austrian Cuirassiers. Soult too was badly wounded as the russo-prussian attack began to break the left too. Napoleon, seeing the collapse threw in his Guard to little avail, and seeing the failure of his marshals, quit the field before the envelopment. This battle has ended the Grand Armee as an effective fighting force, the stragglers follow Napoleon but will need to be reformed.

39. In Italy...
40. Moore has reinforced his position in Rome, it is now decidedly out of French grasp although the Pope is currying new allies in the region…
41.
42. In Russia
43. Kutuzov again met defeat against Ali Pasha, the Turks had significantly reinforced themselves since the summer with more cavalry. They were of great value encircling the Russian flank causing panic among the Russian troops despite it actually being of little danger due to the unreliability of the Turkish cavalry. The Russian infantry managed to almost break through the ottoman line this time however but were driven back again by well emplaced artillery, a continuing problem. Meanwhile, a Turkish army has landed in Anapa on the black sea coast to perhaps even threaten Rostov.
44.
45. In Iberia
46. Wellington's army has entered Madrid without a fight. The citizens are unhappy to see English and especially Portuguese banners fly and are prepared to expel the invader. King Ferdinand is nowhere to be seen, fleeing the capital and giving no orders. Many of the Spanish court feel the war is becoming increasingly hopeless, and seek to come to terms with Wellington. His demands to cede Badajoz and Galicia to Portugal are being considered but to hasten his demands he laid siege to the key fortress of Ciudad Rodrigo, which was a relatively bloody affair, making generous peace less likely.
47.
48. In Scandinavia...
49. The Swedish Navy now sails brazenly in the Baltic, however they are no longer completely dominant, for the Danes have re-armed as well.
