The reason is that pre new test, before my time, BTO's were pretty much free to do whatever they want - nothing was done and our boats was misused and not logged etc, officers gave out gear to non trained without MT auth and so on. For the time being, which was not explained enough, BTO's are limited to 10 per constab, until we see that the BTO's behave and can be trusted. Once we see that, we will open up to the rest of the police. It is a temporary thing.

I'm really confused. We waited ages for this test and then all of a sudden its 10 per constabulary. I really fail to see how this will stop abuse. if people are going abuse it, it will be done regardless of the amount of people who have the training

Surely the best move is to punish those that don't abide by boating rules as opposed to limiting the police force as a whole

Never said anything is stopping the current senior/command team from issuing punishments, but we are trying this out now to see if the current senior/command team actually will.

Its not about "forcing" people to timesheets, the change was done to not have to deal with, what, 20-30 people from each constab. We are temporarely putting this lock in place. It will not stay forever, it will likely be removed soon.

In all fairness I don't see the point of the whole cap. You say that the issue was mainly caused because the command team wasn't properly enforcing these rules. With a large amount of people from the police you will always have people abusing stuff and breaking the rules. Capping the amount of people allowed in the unit will not stop that from happening, nor make the MPU command team make any different decisions. Let's say there we were in the situation that people would continuesly break police rules and silver/GC would not hand out punishments and not do their job properly. What would be the best solution? Limit the people being able to join constabs/the police or to fix the issue of the command team not enforcing said rules?

Practically it won't be that common for the cap to be hit, but in the case that it happens it would be a bit weird to explain that a cap is put in place on how many people can get specialized because the command team wasn't properly doing their job. And if a cap is put in place temporarely, at least put an end date to the cap. Since a 'soon' is IMO too vague.

Yes you where told to make a training. Not change it assuming we would for some reason restrict rhibs or motorboats or whatever it was from boat trained people ect so you had to re make that bit of the training.
You was told to make a general boat trained training for the things you already had
Everything you asked was given an answer on the 6th of august.
and as for the cap on numbers a lot of people where fucking around with mpu gear and boats ect so it was decided to be TEMPORARILY limited to 10 per constab to get them through the trainign whilst its still in the ironing out stages and prove it can be used properly then its opened up to more after.

Personally I feel the idea of essentially creating AFOs for MPU is redundant and non essential. Seems to be creating hurdles and extra steps for something so basic and unused it most cases. It’s not needed, just seems to be giving validation for MPU. No need for it imo

I just don’t agree with the way they make MPU so complicated.. With the way Altis is shaped, it doesn’t promote a lot of crime on the water. The only reason why the majority of the Police Force uses those boats is if some Kavala Hobo drives his car into the ocean and starts swimming away..

I personally have rarely seen anyone abuse the ‘Boat Trained’ whitelisting, so I’m curious what is classed as ‘abuse’ in the eyes of the MPU Command. Also someone mentioned something about filling out a timesheet, back in the past you only had to timesheet the Speedboat Minigun. I personally don’t see why the other boats need to be placed on the timesheet..

I sometimes get the feeling certain individuals are forgetting we’re playing a Game.. Lets not restrict everything and enjoy ourselves, within the Rules and Regulations...

The way this all read was that MPU command couldn’t issue punishments so yous decided to cap the amount you have in. Wouldn’t it be a better idea if a COMMAND isn’t issuing punishments when abuse is taking place, remove that member from command and find a new person who can?

Any concerns or issues regarding the the change implemented by MPU Command take it to board on Wednesday, ultimately nothing will get sorted it this chat and last night was borderline getting out of hand so to avoid any issues before they start for now respect that is the decision MPU Command have made and it is up to them how to run their unit, if you think something needs changing take it to board.
