  1. So here I am once again to make a wayyy too long post for what it should be.
  2. 2 things I'd talk about : MKU S7 match organization (and a rly quick note on matches time) and a new tournament idea that just happened to pop in my head today
  3.
  4. We're all well aware that this new format is to get more accurate rankings, get more teams motivated and create more hype matches etc... My point here is that it fails to do the last 2 ones arguments (at least it could be way better) and for one reason : the regular season schedule (I won't talk about playoffs here since it's the better part of this format for now). The worst part for me in the current WCL format is the fact that it is double robin. Playing the same 5 teams 2 times back to back can be boring, even more if you're D1 and the teams doesn't change much every season.
  5. There's also a fact that kind of disappoints me : since the playoffs tickets are being challenged on inside a conference, why does the last matches, supposely the ones that are the more interessant and the ones that should ideally see the 4th in conference challenging the 3rd to get the last playoff ticket, why does these matches happens to face off teams in different conferences? We're wasting some really good potential of hype and tense matchs right now, at least that's just for me.
  6.
  7. We could either :
  8. move the conference A vs conference B matches to matches 1-6 (week 1-3) and get conference A/B matches 7-16 (w4-w8)
  9. OR
  10. conference A/B matches 1st robin matches 1/5 (week 1-first match of W3), then go to the conference A vs conference B matches for 6-11 (2nd match of W3-1st match of W6) and get the 2nd robin for conference A/B matches going for 12-16 (2nd match of W6-W8)
  11.
  12. Either way, seedings should also be made so that the 1st seed in a conference should play the 2nd seed for the last match, 3rd play 4th and 5th play 6th.
  13.
  14. About matches time, 2:30 and 3:30 are quite honnestly the best matches time proposition I've seen so far, so please mind it even if I know staff doesn't rly like :30 schedules.
  15.
  16.
  17. Now for the tournament suggestion, first of all that's not really a new tournament suggestion, as in every match will be played the same way as any other tournament, but it's more about organization. It would also be difficult to run it with a large amount of teams, so maybe more for an invitational or a low teams tournament
  18.
  19. I always like how in MKCentral hosted tournaments like FFAs, 2v2s FFAs etc... You only know your opponents about 30 mins before room starts at r1 and 10 mins on other rounds. there's also the fact that since tournament is seeded, 100% of big matches will always come at the end of the bracket, which is obviously a good option, but it also makes rounds before that less intresting.
  20.
  21. The main idea would be : You register (having someone in your LU that can host may be a mandatory condition, but it may not), bracket is only known by staff, you get to know the team you're facing like 30 mins(or maybe less) before match, staff/TOs organizes host stuff etc... (that's why it'd be difficult to run it with a lot of teams). There could be also some system where bracket doesn't work like seed 1vs32 seed 2vs31 for 1st round an so on, but I'm not entirely sure if that's either doable and if that'd add something to a tournament.
  22.
  23. Main reason to this post was the league argument, but I wanted to sneak in that little tournament idea of mine.
