    The Nature of The Slothcubus.

Succubus. The name can strike a sense of apprehension into the hearts of even the most stalwart and holy individuals. The image of some demonic vixen stealing into your mind while you sleep, and draining your soul using the most devious sexual fantasies. You lose your soul as you are lost in pleasure, your life being drained by these awful demons. However, there are other demons with less such “direct” ways at making a man lose his soul. Some who work slowly and sinisterly not to ruin a man's entire life work, but to keep him from doing it in the first place. These devious creatures are known as the Slothcubus, and in theory they are more devious than their lustful cousins.
Physically, Slothcubus almost always resemble well built, motherly looking women, most often wearing oversized sweaters or other plush and cushy pieces of clothing. They appear to be in their later twenties, up to their early thirties, but despite this they always have the youthful vigor of a teenager. Their bodies have been described as pleasantly soft and tender, always smelling pleasant and familiar when close to them. Warm to the touch, and being very pleasant to be around, Slothcubus have the effect of easily being able to lull anyone near them into a sense of maternal security.
Unlike succubus, which are embodiments of lust, Slothcubus are not the embodiment of sloth. Slothcubus were made to not commit slothful and lazy actions, but instead, to tempt men into becoming slothful. Slothcubus will become attached to a certain victim, most often one who has also fallen for them. From then on, the Slothcubus begins their devious work. Slowly, the Slothcubus will begin their job of finding out what exactly they need to do to make their victim as lazy and coddled as possible. This varies case by case, and a Slothcubus can spend months or years finding out exactly what their victim exactly likes to do to relax, and what their bad habits are. Whatever this is, the Slothcubus will start to push the victim to indulge in this behaviour. Be it stress eating, watching too much tv, sleeping in, or even going to the gym or reading the bible, the Slothcubus will push the victim to do whatever this activity is more. Most often this will happen by the Slothcubbus becoming concerned over the man, lamenting over how stressed he is and how he needs to take a break. Be it through physical affection, kind words, or doting behaviour, a Slothcubus will attempt to break a mans concentration on whatever important task he is focusing on to get him to do even less. Chores? Dishes? Laundry? Cooking? Consider it done. The Slothcubus wants her victim to be as comfortable and coddled as possible. Even when it comes to hobby and relaxing habits, a Slothcubus would be careful to not let her victim do anything worthwhile. If she saw that her victim was becoming too good at a certain hobby, to the point of becoming professional, she would recommend that he plays video games instead. If she noticed her victim was starting to become too skilled at a video game, ranking up highly in competition, she might attempt to convince him to instead set down the controller and cuddle up with her in bed. And if she saw that in the morning he was getting too good at cooking breakfast or food? Then it is time for lewd activities until the victim can't even get out of bed until it is far past the afternoon. Surprisingly enough, Slothcubus are highly motivated creatures. They are extremely willing to go out of their way to do anything that will make their victim become more lazy and slothful. Some reports even have heard of Slothcubus taking physical fitness training if their victim was not physically attracted to them, or even becoming the sole provider for a household, just in order to keep their victim as lazy and neet like as possible. After all, the ultimate goal of any Slothcubus is to keep a person from doing anything that has any impact on society whatsoever. While this does not sound like a bad fate, and the idea of being pampered by and cared for by a soft doting maternal woman is one that is amazingly attractive to a large portion of the male population, it is indeed a fate worse than death.
Because what is worse? Dying early trying to attain your goals, or living an entire lifetime without accomplishing anything you wanted to? Dying gloriously, or living to an old age knowing that you squandered the gift of the one life that you had? Getting hurt going out and experiencing what the world has to offer, or living at home knowing only the same thing? You never will invent the next world changing piece of technology. You never will write that novel that brings joy to so many. You never will be the star of the most praised media piece of this generation. You never will rank up in ranked gaming enough to  You never will even make a post to a random himilayan basket weaving forum that causes someone else to do something amazing. You will stay at home: well fed, well rested, and well cared for, face stuffed in a pair of warm sweater puppies as you slowly drift off to a fifteen hour sleep before waking up to watch anime and play mario kart with a soft speaking and doting Slothcubus. You will only do this, and *NOTHING* else ever.
All this considered however, Slothcubus are woefully inefficient at their jobs, and are considered quite useless by nearly everyone in the demonic communities and beyond. Up until recent history, even into the dark ages, Slothcubus were feared for their abilities to crumble entire kingdoms and bring nations to a standstill by having important workers not do their job. However, with the renaissance and the ensuing years their general effectiveness and efficiency was brought into question, and by the time the industrial revolution happened, they were being phased out, and the much more effective succubus was taking their place. Over the course of the ensuing decades, to the 20th century, Slothcubus became less and less common, and now into the 21st century they are essentially useless on any large scale. A slothcubus needs to do a lifetime of pampering and coddling to one person to achieve what a single succubus could easily do in a single night to multiple victims. Besides this, a Slothcubus’s plans could easily backfire on her. The Slothcubus’s own ambition and motivation to coddle a man can lead to her own exhaustion. Unlike succubus, Slothcubus do not rely heavily on magic in order to coerce victims, much to their own blessing and curse. To a slothcubus, the only logical way to win is if the victim makes their own mental decision to give themselves over to slothful ways, instead of being magically brainwashed. A life given willingly is much sweeter than one taken. However, this is also their failing, as if a person is strong willed enough to resist their advances enough a Slothcubus is effectively useless. Although an otherworldly entity, Slothcubus still can be exhausted and worn down. To a Slothcubus, nothing is more exhausting than spending an entire evening, night, and morning pleasing her victim and coddling him only to see him go to work refreshed and reenergized, ready for the day, even more motivated to work hard so he can provide FOR the Slothcubus. Such actions are aethema to a Slothcubus, and can drive her to give up on her job. While no doubt Slothcubus can easily find basement dwellers and other individuals who have a severe lack of motivation to turn into victims, these individuals are the most low hanging fruit of anyone that a Slothcubus could try to target. A Slothcubus will no doubt go for a better target, which most likely will lead to her own fall. When a Slothcubus breaks, they break hard. As mentioned above, they are not the embodiment of sloth, but they can still feel it. It is an ironic, if not ultimately poetic fate for the Slothcubus, to have their life goal stripped away from them and not achieve it because of the actions of another. A Slothcubus who has been broken will still try to please and comfort her “victim”, but instead will find herself to be on the receiving end of the affection. Some Slothcubus detest this, and will run off into the night looking for other prey. Others, against their nature, will find themselves drawn to it, poetically ending their reign of terror. While in theory the Slothcubus is more damning and deadly than any Succubus, ultimately, they are a rather useless creature. Many Slothcubus have realized this, and have taken to isolation in deep caves or in abandoned homes in order to hide their shame. This however is a shame, as they do make good wives, and homemakers, that is, if you want to run the risk of potentially ruining your own future.
