sympathy timeline w/sumie

Literally At The Start Of The Universe:
The 1st True Dragon, Iod, comes into existence as a guide for the process of evolution. True Dragons raise life on planets, then later devour them to obtain evolutionary information in the process of attempting to reach the 7th True Dragon, VFD.

A Really, Really, Really Long Time Ago:
The 3rd True Dragon, Niara, destroys the planet of Hypnos. Nobody survives the destruction, but the sentiments of the devastated population are given form as a pair of sisters—Aitelle, who represents positive sentiments and the desire to nurture life on other planets, and Emille, who really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, REALLY hates dragons.

A Really, Really Long Time Ago:
Mio Akaneno arrives on the planet of EO5 thanks to the effects of Project NEW GAME and meets Raven Hillshead. The two, and a bunch of assorted guys who I stopped making in-universe LP jokes about ages ago, climb Yggdrasil and defeat the 4th True Dragon, Tyrant. Project NEW GAME returns Mio to the proper timeline and also causes Raven to vanish alongside her. These actions alter the timeline of Planet Earth, resulting in Mio arriving on a separate planet Earth than she arrived at.

12,000 years ago:
Niara decides it's high time to make good on eating the crops on Planet Earth. The people of the lost civilization of Atlantis, the Lucier, take a stand against him. With the knowledge given to them by the Hypnos sisters, Emille and Aitelle, and by using the metallurgy abilities of their final queen Ulania, known later as the Code of Atlantis, they're able to forge Dragon hearts into a spear known as the Dragonslayer, which has the ability to injure the 'conceptual self' of a True Dragon as well as killing its physical form. While the battle is won, and Niara loses his right wing from the injuries he takes in the battle, the civilization is lost.

Centuries ago:
The Hypnos sisters arrive on the planet Earth. Emille places her bets with remaining knowledge from Atlantis and grants access to it to the Hikasa family, a family that monitors talented individuals in Japan.

The 1970s:
Natsume Hikasa is born, as well as Homura Akaneno, daughter of the Akaneno family, a family that has a reputation for delivering genuine geniuses. The Hikasa family's organization, Murakumo, understands Homura as an S-Class genius, but Natsume is only A-Class, despite being genetically modified. The two become childhood friends.

Also, Youka Fudoji is born.

1993:
Youka Fudoji and Arashi Sunamori, high school sweethearts, have trysts that result in a pregnancy. Arashi leaves Youka with the responsibility, and her parents disown her, leaving her to care for her daughter Cocona by herself.

1994:
Richter Esslinger is born and lives a largely uneventful life for some time.

1996:
Mio Akaneno is born to Homura and her unnamed husband. Homura has become a scientist of some renown, but Mio seems to lack her mother's 'genius abilities', becoming a social outcast. Natsume winds up doing most of the raising, and Mio becomes more attached to Natsume than her biological mother.

1997-A:
Chisa Inomiko, ordinary human girl, is born to Yuuya and Ikuko Inomiko.

1997-B:
Chisa Inomiko, incarnation of the 7th True Dragon VFD, is born to Yuuya and Ikuko Inomiko. She does not resemble her parents in the slightest.

1998:
In a seemingly incredibly unlikely circumstance, a Lucier child is born to human parents of the Kazuki family, becoming the only living Lucier. This child will later be known as Sumie Kazuki.

2000:
Koron Nagataka is born and lives a largely uneventful life for some time.

The 2000s:
Youka Fudoji, in her underground work in Yotsuya, winds up adopting a bunch of kids and gets slowly embroiled in a conflict regarding the Sumadera yakuza family, current Sumadera head Fuhito Inoue, and the United Nations political party, headed by Ryuji Kozakura.

2002:
MP Ariake's three-year-old daughter Neiko is kidnapped and used as an experimental subject in Natsume Hikasa's attempts to create artificial talent, along with several other children, including Daigo and Takehaya.

2007-A:
Crypton Future Media releases their Hatsune Miku voicebank.

2007-B:
Hatsune Miku, actual android, finishes construction and becomes an actual real life pop star.

2008:
Sumie's father Takahiro perishes in a tragic accident, and her family's unwillingness to take care of her means the only person who can is her aunt, Himiko Akiyama, who is not the best guardian for various reasons.

2009:
Homura Akaneno finishes work on the Universal Hacking Interface, which catapults her into complete stardom. In Germany, a military effort to weaponize this new technology results in the introduction of Richter Esslinger and his friend Heinrich Scuttler to YUUHI, and Richter's quick dropping out of the military.

2011-2018:
Richter Esslinger wanders Europe taking on odd jobs and somehow entering several short-lived romantic relationships, developing his friendship with Japanese programmer Megumi Kirisame and occasionally running into his friend Heinrich, who is very ill mentally.

2011:
Ryuji Kozakura, head of the United Nations Party, in concert with Murakumo, discovers and reaches the undersea tower of Ladyin, the waterway hub of Atlantis, which has arrived off the coast of Tottori. From here, genetic traces of the Lucier are used in an attempt to achieve a recreation of the Code of Atlantis.

2012-A:
Homura Akaneno actives Project NEW GAME, an attempt to create an 'isekai hero' in the real world, by surreptitiously teleporting her daughter into an alternate universe (actually eons in the past on another planet). The Inomikos volunteer their daughter Chisa to be replaced by the hero because they don't like their daughter and want a better one. On February 28th, Mio is teleported into an alternate timeline. From here on, any events in the A timeline are unknowable.

2012-B:
On March 1st, 2012, Mio arrives in the B timeline after the events on Iorys. The mental image of Raven Hillshead is overlaid upon Chisa Inomiko, causing a cocktail of existential circumstances no therapist in the world is trained to deal with. The two meet on the first day of the new school year.

On March 1st, 2012, the resurgence of VFD's identity as a dragon causes a planetary defense system to begin creating psychic powers in otherwise typical humans in an attempt to create psychics. This is used by Homura to rapidly discover the mechanics of psychic powers, in particular the Psy-Gene that denotes them, and 'rapid-onset psychokinesis', or Akaneno's Syndrome, is codified.

One of the first Akaneno's patients is Koron Nagataka, who develops the ability to accelerate and decelerate particles, particularly for pyrokinesis. However, she also begins to develop a secondary thermal vision sense, which causes her psyche to develop 'cognitive parallel processing', a form of plural system where each 'core' of the personality takes on some of the cognitive load when too much is granted. The experience of Koron's psyche splitting is too much for her already pained mind to handle, and she gouges out her own eyes, causing her thermal vision sense to take on the sense of her normal vision, granting her blindsight. Her three personality cores form a 'gestalt' system, meaning all three tend to form into a single overall personality. Koron's psyche leads to her being admitted to Okitama Children's Hospital, the site of several of Natsume's experiments.

Youka Fudoji adopts the kid of hers that is going to marry her daughter and battles Mitsuru Sumadera, heir apparent of the Sumadera family, to get a bunch of gangers off her back. She quits her pit fighting career here.

Kirino Ayafumi, Natsume's assistant, does the good person thing and lets most of Natsume's experimental subjects go, including those who will become the street gang SKY.

Also, Sumie Kazuki figures out she's trans.

2013:

Koron's physician, Rin Hashizawa, tells her that her case of Akaneno's is terminal. She and her friends, Nanako (an android daughter of Hashizawa's led to believe she was an amnesiac human, with the psychic ability of psychometry), Pavel (a Romanian Akaneno's patient who was previously terminally ill but cured by his Akaneno's granting him the ability of fleshcraft), and Chelsea (a bastard child of an American billionaire with the power of earthcraft, convinced she was an android by Hikasa in an attempt to forcibly create a fascimile of the Code of Atlantis), enter the secret wards of Okitama to discover Natsume Hikasa's plans.

Hikasa desires to use Koron's psychic abilities as a template to create suicide-bombing armies of psychic androids, with Nanako and Chelsea as parts of this experiment as well. Eventually, to save her friends from Hikasa and the oncoming military, Koron battles Pavel to subdue him and submits herself to Natsume to be used as a weapon in a future conflict.

Sumie meets a gynoid created by the German military, called Vespa, who has become a transporter for those in problematic circumstances. This meeting has a fairly large impact on her.

2014:

Chisa's parents lock her in the Cold Room of their mansion to force her to meditate in retribution for a number of things, but mostly her homosexuality. Her younger brother Taichi, along with classmate Touko Kujo, manage to get a message to Mio to come rescue her two and a half months later.

When Mio and Homura arrive to save Chisa, Chisa's isolation has rendered her into a bestial state. Her instincts as VFD arrive and she battles her father Yuuya, slicing off his arm and nearly killing him entirely. The next time she wakes up, for trauma blockage reasons, she has forgotten about Taichi's existence, and spends many of the following years in a messy mental state. Chisa and Mio never finish their manga.

The UN Party succeeds in making a genuine Lucier child, named Citron. As the host of the 'Royal Historian', a spirit that chronicles the evolutionary history of the Lucier, Sumie Kazuki develops a form of Akaneno's Syndrome. Some time beforehand, she already developed her strong nose and ability to find treasure, but she here comes into active use of the Code of Atlantis. Her hair turns green, a signature of the Historian, and due to her particular mental state, the Historian manifests as a secondary core named SATSUKI, partially representative of Sumie's online persona. SATSUKI proceeds to bully reality to accept Sumie as a woman.

At Some Point:

Aitelle meets Takehaya and goes "hubba hubba".

2016-2019:

Sumie becomes online friends with a number of people over her favorite MMO, ESO2, which includes Rokuro Togetsu, the Lucier Citron, and a woman named Allie (or ND), who runs a cat food company. Through a series of curious coincidences, Sumie discovers Citron's location and her nature as a Lucier, and with the help of her various friends, opts to stage a rescue plan.

2018:

Richter moves to Japan on his friend Megumi's recommendation. He obtains a job as a school aide and is also scouted by Masaki of Murakumo for the research division. (This leads to the invention of his nanomachine system, 119.)

Youka's daughter is kidnapped by Councilman Kozakura, leading to her final battle with Fuhito Inoue, When Kozakura's kidnapping of Inoue's daughter is revealed, Inoue murders him in vengeance. Kozakura was the leading candidate in the prime minister race, but centrist candidate Inuzuka takes the role after Kozakura's murder.

2019:

Richter and Megumi hack into the German military to learn that Heinrich has been heavily damaged by YUUHI to turn him into a living, self-devouring cyberweapon.

Sumie, Vespa, and Sumie's senpai Kirimaru stage the rescue plan, battling out of a hidden UN Party scientific base in Yokohama to rescue Citron. Jiro Togetsu, head guard of the facility, gravely injures Vespa and Kirimaru, but Sumie uses the Code of Atlantis to defeat him in their final battle. The German military, who have at least a small partnership with the UN Party, send Heinrich to reclaim their property, but Richter defeats him and uses YUUHI to destroy the program causing his illness, putting him into a livable state. This happens to take place on the same day as Megumi's wedding, and he even gets to the wedding before he passes out, too.

Through visiting Ryuji Kozakura's hometown of Manzoku-cho, Shimane, Sumie overhears Natsume Hikasa returning Kozakura's notebook to his old mansion, and reads it to find out the location of the tower of Ladyin. She visits and discovers her own nature as a Lucier and SATSUKI's as the Royal Historian, and opts to return to Tokyo instead of saying in the safer country town, desiring to locate her own destiny, not somebody else's.

February-March 2020:

Cocona and Ryoma Fudoji are killed in a random hit-and-run gang shooting.

Chisa is signed up for Murakumo by Homura, and goes to her entrance exam, joining with other hopefuls Kyoshiro Tamura and Renji "Mugen" Urasaka. Unfortunately for them, Niara decides now is a great time to attack Earth again in vengeance for his prior defeat, and the world ends in the midst of their entrance exam. Chisa is the only survivor, saved by Neko and Daigo.

Richter also arrives for his first day, but winds up having the worst first day ever. For lack of anyone else's ability to do so, he is sent to look for survivors, eventually getting Koron's assistance, and recruiting Youka and Sumie. Mio becomes the unit's archivist, and Chisa awakens a month later. The six of them form Murakumo Unit 13, the Dragon-Elimination Strike Team, and become the primary force in the First Dragon War, battling Niara and his Imperial Dragons.

Emille has joined up with American President Muller to assist him, and the US perform their own war in the meantime.

April-July 2020:

Three Imperial Dragons are defeated. SKY and Unit 13 come into conflict a few times. In the battle at Ikebukuro, several members of the SDF are killed in an improperly planned assault, but new leader Rin Dojima is eventually able to properly take command and become a stalwart ally.

The three Imperial Dragons allow Natsume Hikasa to complete the Dragon Chronicle, part of Emille's database granted to her family.

August 2020:

Natsume uses the Dragon Chronicle and Lore-A-Lua's hypnosis abilities to use much of City Hall's population as a sacrifice, becoming the Dragoness Mizuchi. Kirino is the only survivor of her appearance. The United States uses their entire remaining nuclear stockpile in a sacrificial attack to destroy her, leaving David Griffith, Muller's secretary, as the new President.

Unit 13, SKY, the SDF, and Murakumo work together to defeat Niara's remaining four Imperial Dragons, and reconstruct the Dragon Chronicle. Takehaya, who is terminally ill, becomes a Dragoner, and gets the Atlantean Dragonslayer from somewhere to assist in the assault on Natsume's base in Tokyo Tower.

Chisa discovers Project NEW GAME's details, and the ensuing mental distress causes her to lose the mental barrier against her nature as VFD. She nearly devours Hikasa before being stopped by Mio. Niara appears, wanting to eat her and achieve the peak of evolution himself, but is defeated by Richter, Youka, Sumie, and Takehaya, ending the First Dragon War.

September-December 2020:

Chelsea, having become a member of Murakumo herself, leads Unit 13 to Tottori, where Pavel has developed an experimental procedure to save Koron's life. The process is exceedingly painful, but does save her life.

Richter, Mio, and Chisa meet Kyosuke Ayana, a man living in the Den-en-Chofu area who has been caring for his late sister Nagisa's experimental virtual reality therapy technology. Mio's unquantified psychic powers allow her to make this technology work as a fascimile of one of her favorite game series, Ar Tonelico. Chisa is used as the test subject, and Mio enters a representation of her mind.

Chisa and Taichi are reunited at their parents' grave. Homura gets fired by Emille, who becomes head of research at Murakumo, and she takes it really well and doesn't crash and burn at all.

With a desire to become a more honest person, Mio teams up with Miku, along with a bunch of other weirdos, to begin a quest to become Japan's top idol.

Chisa's dragon hunger causes her to eat an abnormal amount of wild animals, but Dr. Hashizawa, who has been recruited by Murakumo, is able to develop an accessibility aid to stave those hungers off in the form of the most disgusting chewing gum ever known to man. There's science behind it, but she's bad at explaining things.

January-February 2021:

Confronted by issues in Chisa's mind that she can't solve, Mio winds up unearthing a buried aspect of her psyche of unknown origin—the source of Chisa's creative energies. This event leads her to have a breakdown, and she winds up going and punching Homura once or twice. Chisa and Mio have the first completely honest and genuine conversation they've had in years, and their relationship finally progresses past when they were teenagers.

Emille, spurred by all that hating dragons, challenges Chisa to a swordfight. The two are injured, but Taichi stops them, managing to convince Emille to leave off by being really sanctimonious.

September 2021:
