This is Admiral Petrarch. The battle in Deneb has not been going as planned. The intel received from our NTF spies was incorrect, the NTF has not been planning an attack on Deneb III. With the element of surprise, the NTF was able to jump to Cygnus Prime and land troops on to the surface. They quickly amassed key parts of the planet and deactivated our planetary defenses.

Currently, the planetary battle is ongoing. However, the NTF is massing a large fleet around the planet, preventing us from providing reinforcements. Without them, it is likely that the NTF victory is close at hand.

If they succeed in taking the Cygnus Prime, Deneb will belong to the NTF and we will be forced to retreat to SOME SYSTEM.
