  1. [17:39] Balam was excited after the lesson his energy reinvigorated to learn more about the spirits that dwelled around them, It would take much more effort than he was putting in now.
  2.
  3. Following the words of his mother he would find a place that would allow him to hear the spirits better, A Hill on the south part of Moxtli's forest would be a place where one could hear and feel the changing of the air currents that breezed through the forest.
  4.
  5. Reaching into his pocket he'd place the totem of Tlalli on a rock besides him so he offering them a short prayer before he began his meditation. "Great Spirit Tlalli I beseech your wisdom in my understanding. Please help me to open myself to the words of the spirits so I may understand their plights as I do those of my kin." His words heartfelt faith in his idol. Spiritual Attunement wasn't something so easily bargained for however.
  6.
  7. Despite Balam having some natural talent being able to see spirits sometimes in passing he wasn't able to hear them like his mother could although perhaps it was because he was never truly listening as he was instructed to at today's lessons.
  8.
  9. Balam took a seat allowing himself to relax and focus only on his breathing, The gentle breeze passing over him as he concentrated on exuding his own wind mana. He'd been improving his self daily increasing the abilities he'd been refining with effort alone.
  10.
  11. And he'd felt he'd come a decent way from his peers although he couldn't' say the same about Zuchi who was right on his heels in terms of strength. However moments like these where he could connect with nature he was rather fond of.

  14.
  15. [17:46] The wind blew in many directions, The gentle gusts brushing up against his fur made all the scents of the forest come to life all around him, and as Balam began to connect deeper into his surroundings he'd began to sense the mana of the living creatures around him, Using his Wind magic and beastkin to extend his senses well passed that of a human magi.
  16.
  17. "Living creatures, Rabbits, frogs, insects, birds...wolves further to the west...I can sense them all..." He claimed as he continued to pour himself deeper into his atmosphere. It was easy to sense the breath of the creatures but it was far more difficult to sense creatures like spirits who didn't always need to breath.
  18.
  19. He realigned his senses, Focusing more so on the aspect of spiritual energy that he sensed within the wisps his mother summoned, Remembering the sensation he felt the last time he meditated in Tlalli's pond.
  20.
  21. Remembering his mothers words once more, Of how not all spirits were living creatures, Meaning they wouldn't be easily tracked down had they not wanted to be discovered. Balam spent a few hours absorbing the information of his surrudnings.
  22.
  23. And allowing himself to be open to the influences of the wind and nature that flourished around him. It wasn't long before he felt a sudden shift in the atmosphere. Something that sent a chill down his spine...Pure bloodlust and anguish.

  26.
  27. [18:01] Feelings the Ookami boy could usually not resonate with yet he felt them deeply as if he had been experiencing these feelings all along. Or perhaps...there was something so troubled out there that it called to Balam for help.
  28.
  29. Balam's spiritual senses were still being developed and as he moved towards the place where he could better focus on these feelings he'd feel a sudden rushing of mana. As wisps quickly fled passed him. His eyes now more adjusted to their form as his grasp of spiritual mana was beginning to manifest in full.
  30.
  31. He'd never thought it would've awakened so soon after his mothers lessons but it seemed he had quiet the talent for it as well. As he moved deeper towards the presence he felt an immense pressure. As he heard whatever it was roar in pain.
  32.
  33. The smell of blood lingering in the forest as he got closer only to find the marred remains of non magi tribesmen ripped to pieces before the Childs eyes. However this was no ordinary beast or monster it held a dark power one that even Balam couldn't truly understand.
  34.
  35. Fear quickly swelled in the Childs eyes as he reeled back in horror at the grotesque sight of corpses. It seemed a nearby village had been complete wiped out by the vicious nature of this creature. Balam however took to heart what he saw, and held it in his mind.
  36.
  37. He saw one of the bodies start to twitch a sign that they had been alive. He quickly rushed down towards them to administer aid but the wounds were far to grievous for the young magi to heal...The young man no older than Motai aimed to speak their final words, Words of warning of the beast that mascaraed their village.
  38.
  39. Their words were clear, The Savage wraith was what did this, An entity born of the spirits of the dead that wanted to torment the living. Knowing fully what this creature was he decided he would deal with himself as he felt the man pass away in his arms he could see the lights of wisps carrying his soul into the lifestream.
  40.
  41. "I pray your soul finds peace brother...May this be the last of the deaths caused by this creature. I will resolve this matter myself..." he could ask his mother for assistance but knowing her she would most likely deny him or on the other hand handle it herself. So he would bare this burden alone or perhaps alongside Zuchi.
  42.
  43. Having more knowledge of where the Wraith had hidden itself away Balam had moved back towards Moxtli to prepare. He needed to train not only in his magical powers but his spiritual abilities before he could aim to purify it.
  44.
  45. "Now that I've seen the dark side of the spirit world I know even more now that my goal is significant in helping our tribe to recover...This will be one of my first trials to becoming a great Shaman!"
