- What is Low%?
- A Low% Speedrun attempts to beat the game as fast as possible with the least amount of items. In some games, it takes longer to skip items then it does to obtain them, and this can create some interesting speedruns/show off glitches that normally don't get used. In Skyward Sword, this is the list of things that are normally obtained in Any% which will be skipped in Low%:
- - Training Sword
- - Sailcloth
- - Shield
- - 1 Bottle
- - The First Goddess Cube
- - Life Tree Seedling/Fruit
- - Song of the Hero
- - True Master Sword
- - All Extra Heart Containers
- - *Note: I will not be counting extra rupees/drops that I accidentally pick up (because resetting over those would be a pain, and
- this run is more for fun and not something to be taken too seriously)
- Wait...you can skip the Song of the Hero?
- Yes.
- Why don't we skip the Song of the Hero in Any%?
- It takes an extra 5 hours to skip the Song of the Hero.
- How is it performed?
- If you have a file with the Stone of Trials, you can begin the cutscene which opens Skykeep in BiT and apply it to a file that has not collected the Song of the Hero. So for this run, I will first be performing a normal Any% run (where I can collect anything) up to obtaining the Stone of Trials, and then doing another run on a separate file that opens Skykeep early and skips all the items mentioned above.
- How long will Low% take for Skyward Sword?
- My estimate is 9 hours.
