  1. Purpose : To determine which type of wire yields the most voltage.
  2. Hypothesis: Silver wire will yield the highest voltage of any of the wires tested.
  3. Variables :
  4. Dependent Variable - Volts/Amps/Watts
  5. Independent Variable - Type of wire
  6. Parameters : Number of nails (1), number of magnets (4)
  7. Procedure : 1. Gather materials 2. Make generator by folding the cardboard into a square 3. Stick a nail through the cardboard and make sure it goes the other end 4. Place 2 positive magnets and 2 negative magnets around the nail 5. Attach the wire to the nail and the other wire to the electricity reader 6. Make a spinning device (wheel) that will be attached to the other end of the nail. 7. Spin the wheel so that the nail turns. By turning the nail sandwhiched between the 4 magnets will generate electricity. 8. As the spinning ocurrs, the electricity gauge shoulld have a quantitative value of volts/watts/amps. 9. Repeat this process for each type of wire at various lengths.

  9. Materials : Electricity Guage, Silver, copper, aluminum, steel wires, Wire cutter, 4 Magnets, Nail, Meter Stick, Generator, Cardboard, Tape
