  1. Your strike should have never reached the Beast. The distance between yourself and it would’ve taken a horse more than a few seconds to cover. Your blade, despite its immense length in comparison to other blades, cannot bridge such a gap.
  2.
  3. Yet, despite your thoughts regarding the matter, your swing meets resistance.
  4.
  5. That knowledge, no matter how strange or impossible, turns your fear into fuel for fury. The well of power within your body swells, and you pull from it with all your strength. There is a pull within you, as though you’re casting magic, but it’s of the tiniest of fractions in comparison to casting even Rest. You feel as though you can continue the extension of your blade forever.
  6.
  7. Wind is parted and thrown aside in massive amounts. You had swung with all the speed and strength you could muster. You know that you’re pulling upon Magic instead of merely relying on flesh alone for both your strange new power and the strength behind your blows. The amount taken is miniscule and infinitesimal in terms of the power you hold within you, but the results are immense
  8.
  9. You feel the edge of your sword pressing against dense muscle and organic armor after cutting through the canvas of tents. Armor as rigid as shale and as thick as yourself shatters before your blow, flesh like corded iron is severed, and your arms are struck by shock as you strike impossibly strong bone.
  10.
  11. A wound, large enough to fit a dozen men, appears at the base of its neck. The blow you had envisioned, which you had sent forward, had not been a mere delusion.
  12.
  13. You can fight the Beast.
  14.
  15. “Nay, my wielder, we may fight the Beast.”
  16.
  17. The vision of a ghastly, ferocious smile enters the forefront of your mind.
  18.
  19. You know not whether the smile is yours or that of your now-living blade.
