  2.
  3.
  4. How the System Works
  5.
  6. Participants will sign up to challenge the league, by commenting on this document. You will need to comment your friend code (FC), your in-game name (IGN), and confirm that you are playing on either Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon. Once signed up, challengers will be able schedule battles with the gym leaders, by commenting on their individual gym posts. Gym leaders do not need to be challenged in any specific order. Once you've confirmed a victory against a gym leader, you will gain their badge, which will be recorded by both the gym leader, and the Pokémon Station admins. After obtaining all 8 badges, a challenger may proceed to the Elite 4.

  8.
  9. Mutual Rules for Challengers, Gym Leaders, and Elite 4 Members
  10.
  11. ► Battles will be conducted using a DS, by default. Pokémon Showdown! can be used as an option, if DS connectivity is an issue.
  12.
  13. ► All battles will be conducted using the rules of the official VGC 2018 format, as well as any additional rules set by the Pokémon Station Gym League.
  14.
  15. ► Gym/Elite 4 battles will be best of one. If a challenger loses, they will have to wait until the next time that gym leader/Elite 4 member is available.
  16.
  17. ► A challenger victory will need to be confirmed by both the challenger and the gym leader/Elite 4 member. Without confirmation from both ends, a challenger will gain nothing from the battle. If there is an issue during the confirmation, an admin will handle it.
  18.
  19. ► In the case of a disconnection, the battle will have to be started over from the beginning. A challenger will not be forced to wait until the next time the gym leader is available.
  20.
  21. ► The Elite 4 must be faced in order.
  22.
  23. ► If a challenger breaks any rules set by the Pokémon Station Gym League, a gym leader/Elite 4 member has the right to disqualify the challenger from the gym/Elite 4 battle.
  24.
  25.
  26. Challenger Rules
  27.
  28. ► You may not PM a gym leader or Elite 4 member, unless they've given you permission. This is to protect their privacy. Harrassment or violation of privacy will not be tolerated.
  29.
  30. ► After defeating the first Elite 4 member, a challenger will gain two Encores. If you lose against a following Elite 4 member, you may use an Encore to face that Elite 4 member again, without starting your Elite 4 challenge over again. Winning against an Elite 4 member will yield one extra Encore, though, a challenger may not have more than three Encores at one time. If you run out of Encores, you will have to start over at the first Elite 4 member again, thus restarting the cycle.
  31.
  32. ► Please do not reveal information about the teams that the gym leaders/Elite 4 members use to other challengers.
  33.
  34. ► Please respect the members of the Pokémon Station Gym League, and follow the set rules. Failure to do so will result in ejection from the league, and possibly being banned from the group.
  35.
  36.
  37. Gym Leader Rules
  38.
  39. ► All Pokémon on a gym leader's team must have a type that is relevant to their gym's typing. There is no limit to how many dual types a gym leader can use. A Pokémon that would gain a relevant type through Mega Evolution is allowed, so long as that Pokémon is holding its Mega Stone. Similarly, a Pokémon that starts with a relevant type, but loses it through Mega Evolution, may not use its Mega Stone.
  40.
  41. ► Gym leaders may change any details of their team at any time, so long as each Pokémon's type is relevant to the gym type.
  42.
  43. ► Gym leaders will create a post for their gym, which will allow challengers to schedule battles with them. Each gym post must include the gym leader's gym type, friend code (FC), in-game name (IGN), and any additional rules that may exist for their gym. Please make sure that each challenger clearly understands the rules before accepting their challenge.
  44.
  45. ► Gym leaders must try to make themselves as available as possible. If a gym leader will be absent for an extended period of time, please notify an admin.
  46.
  47.
  48. Elite 4 Rules
  49.
  50. ► Each Elite 4 member must use four Pokémon of the same type on their team. This will be referred to as "semi-monotype". As for the other two Pokémon, they will have the option to choose Pokémon of any type to put on their team. There is no limit to how many dual types an Elite 4 member can use. If the team's Mega Evolving Pokémon is within the semi-monotype, and gains a relevant type through Mega Evolution, it is allowed, so long as that Pokémon is holding its Mega Stone. If a Pokémon within the semi-monotype starts with a relevant type, but would lose it through Mega Evolution, then it may not hold its Mega Stone. The team's mega evolving Pokémon is not required to be within the semi-monotype.
  51.
  52. ► Elite 4 members may change any details of their teamm at any time, so long as the team follows the semi-monotype rules.
  53.
  54. ► There will be a single post for all four Elite 4 members. The post must include each member's semi-monotype, friend code (FC), in-game name (IGN), and any additional rules that may exist for their challenge. Please make sure that each challenger clearly understands the rules before accepting their challenge.
